I have never posted here before though I troll and check out what is going on about my Vibrant often and have not seen this directly answered yet, so here goes.
I downloaded and installed the official froyo the other day from Kies Mini.
I have never attempted to even boot in recovery mode.
I have never attempted to root, rom or anything that you amazing people somehow figured out.
OK, so that should help get us somewhere to start.
I noticed today that my notification bar showed the signal as the 0/ (i don't know how to place that symbal correctly) as no signal. I let it go for a few minutes because sometimes Tmobile loses signal in my building. I noticed it outside on break and I tried to reboot. It rebooted but kept rebooting. I removed to battery and its still kept rebooting after letting it sit without the battery. I tried rebooting in recovery mode and deleting the cache memory (don't want to delete user info yet unless that is my only option to get fully reset) and its still rebooting.
Basically after I rebooted the first time, its runs slowly at the S, finally gets into the homescreen, shows signal (but none of my apps, no screen responses at all, just vibrates a few times while switching from no signal to signal) then reboots.
I am pretty much at a loss here. Would love any helps I can get.
Bump, please I don't mean to be annoying, but is this something I am going to have to revert to factory on? I saw someone else had a bricked phone after download and reboot constantly like me. Ugh, to wait so long for Tmo and now this??
The BEST thing to do, if you havent modded, or rooted is to take it to yor local t-mobile store if you have one. If not, call customer support and have them send a replacement.
Hi,
Lately I have noticed a weird behavior on my phone, and was wondering if this is normal.
I first noticed this a few weeks ago when I rebooted the phone and saw that the YouTube widget did not refresh upon reboot, instead it gave me a message "Please check the network. Touch to retry". When I touched to retry it then loaded the clip thumbnails as it should. From the moment I noticed this, it never stopped behaving this way for several weeks now.
Once I investigated this a little more, I noticed that all my widgets (weather, mail, etc...) do not auto refresh as well after I restart the phone since then.
The weird thing is that 3G/H+ data eventually gets connected after a few more seconds (approx 10-15), and then all the widgets can be refreshed manually, or eventually auto refresh themselves as configured. This issue only happens when the phone boots up, it gets no connection for a few seconds, then it gets connected normally and no more issues.
Now I am thinking this is not as it should be, if my memory serves me right the phone was not behaving like this when I first got it last summer, and I am pretty sure I would have noticed this since it is bugging the hell out of me lol! Also when I reboot and have access to a remembered Wifi connection, no such issues can be observed, even weirder.
As far as setup goes, you can see in my sig. I have to say though that I have reverted back to stock ROM (2.3.3 in my case), tried several different modems and kernels. And yes I did fully wipe and format the phone (cache, system, data, dalvik, sdcard) before re-installing stock. And I get the same problem (if this is in fact a problem).
On a side note (maybe related), when I go to recovery and wipe data, cache, dalvik, then format cache, system, data, sdcard, is the phone really FULLY wiped? I am thinking it is not, and that this may be the root of this behavior. For example, I know that the /efs folder does not get erased when wiping the phone clean. There must be some other parts of it that do not get touched either, and I am betting this has something to do with it all.
Lastly is there an even more thorough method for getting the phone back to it's original state, or at least wiping all files that may not belong and do not get wiped in the method I use?
Thanks for anyone taking the time to read and try to answer this. Sorry for the long post

Does anyone have any idea? Please help!!
:Bump:
Last time, I will give up after this.
It is just beyond me that no one in this community of geniuses has a comment on this matter.
Thanks!

Whilst I can understand your frustration, after that comment, I'd be very surprised if you got an answer to/help with your problem. Totally unnecessary.

The comment was not meant to insult anyone, and I apologize if it did. What I meant is that given the amount of highly knowledgeable people on this forum, it's just hard to believe no one has a comment or some tips to share with me and others. No disrespect intended here, in no way!

I was really hoping the new firmware update would fix this problem but no such luck. Will it ever be fixed? Will anyone ever even respond to my bug reports at Asus or Google? I'm so frustrated. I have crash logs saved in the futile hope that someone might actually investigate, but nobody wants them. Not being able to use this app makes my tablet close to useless for me
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh
It is actually worse than it was before. Sometimes before I could use Gmail for 20 seconds or so before it crashed. Now it crashes immediately every single time Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know of a fix?
Same problem
I have the same problem. I have a BCOK tablet that is rooted and locked, but the problem has persisted since before I rooted. I don't know a good solution. My email app also crashes, and I haven't been able to find another e-mail app on the market that I like.
gmail fix???
I had the same exact problem for a while with my gmail. I too had hoped the updates would fix it. However, i tried something on my own and it worked!!! I havent had a problem since.
reduce your "days of mail to sync" settings and reboot. I dont have my Prime with me right now so i cant tell you what i have. but I think I went from the default 30 days to 15 days. I will try and remember to check later. but once I did that I no longer have the email freeze and crash problem.
If i remember correctly (I did this a month or so ago), it wasnt an immediae fix. It went from not being able to open as usual, to freezing and crashing a couple times, to no problems at all. All within a matter of days. I am assuming the system had to "settle" or something. I am in no way that techie, but im not a noob. so I have no idea if this is a fix... but give it a shot.
Thanks, I will give it a shot.
Let me know how it goes... im curious if I was just lucky, or i stumbled on to something.
I'm afraid to post this because I will probably jinx myself, but I actually haven't had a crash yet since I changed the sync days to 15... I'll post again in a couple of days and let you know if it's still going good!

looks like it may have worked for cwoodard73... at least so far. i havent had a problem since then.
Well, it didn't work for me. But hey, it was worth a try . Thanks for the tip!
it didn't end up working unfortunately. gmail sometimes says open for a few seconds instead of crashing right away, but it's still unusable. sigh. maybe one of these days i'll be able to check email on my prime. after 4 months this is getting really old to say the least, and i find myself eyeballing my husband's ipad3 more and more often...
Just wondering....
I've only had my tp for a week, so I'm new to this device and to Android 4 - but I'm not new to Android.
As I said, I've only been using my prime for a week, but I don't see any of the problems that so many people have been talking about. So this is a question not a flame. Are the people having all these issues people who have had the device for a while and have piled udate on top of update?
In my case I don't even know what firmware version came with my prime because immediately after doing the initial battery charge, I did a manual fresh install of the .28 version. So I was starting out completely clean and I have to wonder if that's why mine is working so well?
I have done a factory reset after every update to try and get gmail working. no luck
I now have the problem again. Had it a few months back, then it went away, now it is back again. I have not changed anything. I also notice the problem on the Asus mail application as well. That is new. In the past it was not affected.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was your issue:

did not work for me
Did as suggested with same crashing. Finely I got a send crash report and it was a Java lang outofmemory error. Still do not know how to fix it though

[Q] Please Help Me: Rooted Phone & Weirdness After Factory Reset & Failed ROM Flash
So I rooted my SGS4 a few months after getting it from VZW. I was fine with it simply being rooted for over a year and finally decided there was a few things I no longer wanted to live with. I started going down the path of flashing a ROM and after what I felt was enough research settled on the one that would work with my phone. Or so I thought. Short story is it did not and I found out later it wasn't compatible. Prior to flashing said ROM I created a backup and did a factory reset and wipe like a good little boy. Well, I think this is what caused the issues I'm now experiencing. I'll start with the few I can think or right off-hand as being the man annoyances but I reserve the right to add more later as they come up.
So, w/o further adieu, here's the issues I'm having, numbered for our convenience.
1) Whenever I boot up my phone I get the 'Android is Upgrading' after every single reboot with about 62 items 'upgrading' so it takes a while. I use my phone a lot and carry spare batteries that I change out every time it gets low so this can be several times a day and many times the wait of several minutes is quite inconvenient. As I found in a search, I tried using an app called 'Lucky AppManager' to clear the ODEX files and it reboots and I do it again a few times and it still doesn't seem to do any good.
2) for some reason all of my contacts has a little SIM card next to them that I don't recall seeing and it now won't let me edit any of them to add or remove information. This is annoying.
3) This one had been going on for a bit prior to me attempting to flash a ROM so I had hoped at minimum it would be resolved after the reset. Nope. Power down times are very slow. It used to be whenever I powered it down it took only a dozen or so seconds. Even less right when I got it. Then, one day, it took a minute or two to completely power down and has taken that long every since. Annoying.
There was something else but as I type this I'm drawing a blank. Any help that anyone can help me on any of the above would greatly help me.
Thanks!
p.s. This is a duplicate thread since I was so rudely made aware that I had posted to the wrong subforum. Sometimes this forum earns is rep. Sorry to those who genuinely care because a few bad apples ruin it for everyone.

If you're on nk1 or ng6, have you tried going back to nc5 via odin? It sounds like you need to flash the full wipe nc5 and start over from scratch.
Hello All you Android Whizzes out there,
I am having a NEW problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phone running 6.0.1.
as of sometime yesterday, for no reason I can fathom, the graphics for virtually all the games on my phone have gone all Blurry making the game unusable. All the non-game Apps appear to work just fine, but then they generally have static graphics.
I am worried there is something wrong with MY phone, but in a quick Google search, I found someone else reported the exact same problem just a few hours ago??
Anyone hear of this or have a clue as to what may be happening? is it a malware? Any and all help would be appreciated, and I hope the XDA community will be kinder than where that poor other person posted their query!
Thanks!
EDIT: Thanks to Ekrezem...
I looked at the Game Optimizing Service and it had been updated. I simply removed the updates going back to factory and everything worked!
You actually found it on a google search? May I know where you found it?
I just got it happening to me earlier today as well (about 10h? ago), and I still do. Hoping for some answers since I couldn't find it on google... Or I'm just bad at keywording, lol.
Mine is on a Samsung Galaxy S6 - Verizon, though.
Edit: I think I got mine fixed, but not sure. So far none of my games are being blurry, though.
You can follow this maybe? https://forum.supercell.com/showthr...esolution-and-blurry-screen-while-playing-CoC
As for me myself, I have package disabler pro. I went and disabled Game Optimizing Service from it, and rebooted. Boom, no blur somehow.
My previous temporary fix were rebooting until the game I want to play were not blurry, lol.
Thank you! This started happening to me as well yesterday. Could not figure it out, and all google searches and youtube vids came up empty on this subject. By chance, i found this thread just now, and it fixed the problem. I thought my phone was going bad....lol. Thank you!!!

Me too, and I'm in that period of wanting to sell my phone and buy a new one. lmao
Glad it works, so I guess its not just me.
Thank you PiperTim and Ekrezem.
I'm not very tech savvy, but you gave me enough to figure it out. Here's how I fixed it. I went into settings, application manager, game optimizing service and then clicked on more, and undo updates, back to factory reset . After doing this, it was still blurred so then I did a force stop on the game optimizing service and then everything worked again. All my games are clear and functioning normally. Thank you both so much!
Yup, that is the quick way out and I think it takes you back to 1.1.40.0, my wife has an identical phone to mine that was still working fine and she had 1.1.89.0, the one I believe I had when all went haywire was 1.1.95.2 which I am not sure where I picked it up (I think it installed with Twitter?)? I just tried loading the current one 1.2.07.1 and it hosed up my phone (Note 5) so, I would suggest staying away from anything over 1.1.89.0!
Had the same problem and disabling game optimizing service solved my problem! Thx OP and others for this thread and fix!!
OK, found the fix, but do I have to do it every day?
So, I had hoped that I would delete the updates and reinstall the last working version and be done!
Who knew I would have to do this at least once every day as they keep trying to push the newest version of the GameOptimizingService 1.2.07.1 out to my phone.
any way to stop this?
