A bunch of different phones are getting ICS really fast, where are all the ICS roms for the GSII?

not sure exactly what happened but they are working hard on an international version, threads have been closed due to other people's stupidity if i remember correctly
What phones? Only the Galaxy Nexus has anything but a hacked-up alpha build.
ics
i'm using unnamed 1.3 + ICScrewed 1.1.1 right now
it's the closest thing you can get for i777 so far
I guess parents don't teach their kids patience anymore.
Wait and see, it'll be here eventually.
We will never get ICS. Lol. You'll see ICS when it's built. Not sure if you think just because you post a thread about it that its going to get here any faster. The only info you'll get from this is speculation anyways.
Nah I've been on android since the hero so I know how the waiting game works, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything that I didn't.
The ICS waiting game will be longer than most due to the hardware acceleration. Until the libs for hardware acceleration are released and a 3.0 kernel ICS will work but not as smoothly. We've got ICS working o the Atrix but its based on the 2.6 kernel so while it works its not ideal.

Where I can find this ICS version for Atrix to test ?
is there? not CM7 themed like the rom from evogp, I mean a full ICS rom?
nope, there is only alpha version in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403372
We have to wait for CM9. And considering that ICS changes a lot of things such as how it interacts with the camera, the old drivers for some of our hardware aren't going to work unless they are able to port some stuff from other, similar phones. I wouldn't hold my breath for a 100% ICS ROM any time soon.

Just out of curiousity..i have a gnex with 4.03 ics and the transformer prime with 4.03...all good right...not exactly i was looking at the kernel information...and somethin i noticed is that the transformer prime has a kernel based on 2.6 as opposed to the gnex which has a 3.0 based kernel...now if i'm not mistaken true ICS comes with a 3.0 based kernel...my question is why in gods name asus did u choose to use a 2.6 base when ICS is suppose to have a 3.0 base kernel maybe i'm wrong as i'm not a dev...but from what of i've read here on XDA using kernel hackery to get ICS to run can cause some issues....perhaps this is the reason why some things arent working exactly as they should in ICS...cmon Asus fix this..i would have rather waited patiently for a full ICS rom based on 3.0 then 2.6 hackery that was released.
I read somewhere that the kernel was the cause of the random reboots some people were having, hopefully in the next update they'll fix this!

wouldnt surprise me...the easy fix would be unlock our bootloaders now lol
That is certainly curious... interesting find.
Thanks.

Thanks...very interesting as i did not know that. I wonder if faceunlock and wifi direct will be unlocked in 3.0 based kernel update. We do have the files inside the prime but disabled for some reason. Also the 5Ghz files.
It would b interesting to see what version kernel the xoom is running for its ics ...I'd assume its 3.0 based since its a google experience device...I believe face unlock will b enabled with a new kernel

I am pretty sure NVidia provides much of the code for the kernel.
has anyone noticed this? system dump for Android 4.1 jellybean is already out. the hacking/creating custom jellybean roms has already begun.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736529
they have it deoxdexed already in that thread.
plus the Samsung galaxy nexus just got the OTA update to jellybean. someone posted the file in this thread.

Update
Nexus 7 system dump. thanks to Zedomax
Http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739147
Could possibly be ported to prime or at least new features pulled from it and implemented into prime roms.
Mods can delete thread if it can't be ported.
Jelly Bean looks pretty dang cool, but I think I'm personally going to wait until there is a stock-based JB ROM. I've tried AOSP-based ROMs on my Prime, and the loss of functionality on the keyboard, as well as the headaches with battery monitoring on the second battery just aren't worth it.
Once Wookie can get his hands on an Asus build of JB, I bet this thing will really come alive.

You would be far better off waiting for either:
A dump from the Nexus 7 (Which is closer hardware-wise)
Waiting for source to be pushed to AOSP in a few weeks.
https://groups.google.com/d/msg/android-building/BnspdkGvgOE/YaEotqlP4OoJ
SDK ports tend to be as slow as molasses and functionally incomplete as they usually lack the driver support of the proper release.
The HTC One X port from the Galaxy Nexus image is well... As bad as you would expect.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. I am currently using CM9 and the keyboard functions equally as well as stock. Monitoring of the second battery works perfectly too. This is the case with all the recent releases of the other AOSP roms too. I do not think it will be too long before we have a JB AOSP rom for the Prime. I wish you luck in seeing the same from ASUS. Hopefully sometime next year lol.

I'm running the Galaxy Nexus JellyBean OTA on my Gnex at the moment, and it is SWEET!
It seems that Project Butter has, for the most part, worked. My Galaxy Nexus has never been as smooth as it is now!
I can't wait for JellyBean to be released on our Primes! If I can stop myself buying a Nexus 7 that is!

That's been the only thing holding me back from flashing an AOSP rom on my Prime, I was worried the keyboard dock wouldn't work or with limited functionality. I might have to give CM9 a go..
Back on topic. Yes looking forward to what JB can bring to the Prime!

Jellybean port has already hit One X, hopefully we'll get a version soon too.

I haven't tried CM9, but on AOKP and EOS, the extra tweaks for things like the keyboard unlock that Asus baked in are missing. I use mine for taking notes pretty frequently, and I like to be able to turn the screen on and off with the keyboard. That was never an option with AOKP or EOS. I recognize that it's a small issue for most people, but it was a deal-breaker for me. The ROMs that I was running didn't have a dual-battery guage, either, unless you wanted a big ugly widget on one of your home screens to tell you how your dock battery is doing. I also missed the quick OC settings that are in the stock-based FW.

Fair 'nuff. It's funny how everyone has their list of deal-breakers, myself included.
Sorry for the off-topic. Hopefully someone will be able to use this system dump to make something very cool in the not too distant future

i have no idea what rom you were trying but there is no loss of keyboard functionality on AOKP nor any battery problems.

Not to push you or anything but did you take a look how we can get Jellybean for our Prime by using the Nexus 7 files?
Can we already begin porting or do we have to wait for the source code?

a port can be made but might need work. likely people will use parts of it and implement it.
There is a factory image of nexus 7 here

Just a matter of time now!! Have not unlock my prime yet but I will if a port becomes available before an official update.

actually it's a matter of some dev willing to spend his spare time and sharing the result with us.
anyways we'll see. i think an official update or AOSP version is available anywhere soon.
We wait for 4.1 release tag to drop.

Hi all, I'm about to attempt a port from good ol' HoneyComb, but there's a problem: I'm trying to port it to a phone. And since no one ever tried to port it to this phone (The HTC EVO 3D), I have nothing to base it off of.
However, we do have ICS.
My question is that can I use an ICS system and kernel as a base for a HoneyComb rom?
