They are sweet. Play with webOS for a while, before putting on CM7. I promise its not as bad as you think. If only webOS had a good selection of apps ...
Android is nice, but gingerbread wasn't meant to run in tablets. Hopefully we will get some sweet ice cream soon. Its close, won't be long now.

Is everybody getting bored with there vibrants??

alot of Eugene's followers are moving onto a different phone because he left. Personally I like the Vibrant because its lightweight and can run CM7
No! I just got mine.
Better late than never...
im gonna stick with the vibrant until the Galaxy s2 is out...
I am currently running Gingerclone R2 + Dead Horse Kernel and couldn't be more content.
I think that once CM7 becomes stable, if it does, then I may switch.
Nonetheless, I am not bored with device.
My fiance is getting SGS2 and I have to stick with my Vibrant. She's going to be happy! But no, I am not bored with this guy at all. It's my high quality music source since Voodoo Sound has been made available to Vibrants, it still runs everything fast. It's got hardwares that will last quite some time. I just hope that there will be more and more great apps available on the Market like on the App Store.
Im stickin with the vibrant for i use it for watching moves and web surfin and pictures....you could say its all about the screen for me.
Bionix-V 1.3 w/a Splash of Color
No way! i love my vibrant! sticking with it till maybe the SGS2 comes out. but even than im going to wait a little before i get one of those.
The Vibrant has way too much to offer. There is not another phone that blows it out the water, so why change?

NO ,let me tell You sumething , i sold my Vibrant yesterday , i miss it incredibly today period (.)
As much as i love samsung screens, i'm not sure why all of you are so quick to get a sgs2. Have you not learned your lesson? Has samsung not **** on and screwed ya enough already? Maybe i'm biased since i also had a behold 2
There is not a phone out there that makes me go "ooooo" so, until then, the Vibrant is it. I am waiting for the S2
Think about it, The phone has a good camera good video, excellent music player, Fantastic custom Roms (lots of them) lots of themes and mods....... Until there is something that is WAY better why change? just for change's sake? that's foolish
with all the work the dev community is putting in, I think our vibrants have a lot of life left in them yet.

i love it, it's fast and light, and really slick looking. will probably jump to the sgs2 when it's out, but until then i don't see any reason to switch over to anything. especially with a ffc mod, there's really nothing any other phone has than mine except maybe 4g speeds, which probably wouldn't work well in my area anyway
I like my Vibrant. If you get bored, try flashing new roms. I find it very refreshing to have a new rom. I'm currently running Simply Galaxy/Sweet Honey 2.5. It's good so far! Also, I'm waiting for the CM7.

The trick to getting ice cream sandwich on the tab is to put ice cream on the screen, then put cookies on both sides, then search the forum before you post.

+1 this is a great idea
Why is it people buy a media consumption device yet consume no media on it? One Google search, or one simple scroll would have netted you the answer you were looking for.
But, since my toilet is really comfortable I have a few minutes for ya. ICS- will not be released for another month or two. Then you have to wait for Samsung to adapt it to their UI, so basically you have about 2 to 19 months until you will see it on your tab.

Well i hope it is released in October. But yes it will be months later until Samsung codes it in for the gtab.
There has to be a word for the particular kind of nerdhood that Android tablets seem to engender. People who buy a $500 gadget only to obsess over installing the next version of its operating system.
Dissatisfied?
Me .... I'm fine with my Tab, although I'd be happy if I were to receive an update that improves the Tab further.

ICS Upgrade
Why all the hostility...This is what forums are meant to be, sharing information. You have I would like to have and Vice versa. Also are we not all always looking for the next evolution in the OS and it's new features. Yes I what my 500.00 dollar toy to have the best it could handle.
+1
I would hardly call Samsung's 3.1 incarnation a smooth experience. Yes it works, but regular force closes are becoming annoying. So, personally, I would love to see ICS available for the Tab 10.1, and perhaps more importantly, the ICS source being made available for the devs to get to work

Call me impatient, but is anyone developing ICS??

I know, I know!! We just OFFICIALLY got Gingerbread, but I was wondering if anyone has started any type of Ice Cream Sandwich development other than Klondyke and Dreyer's??

i'm anxious to see this thing going myself. i'm getting a new phone soon but am keeping my tbolt. this thing's been my fav phone i've ever had(hd2 2nd).
Ics doesn't appeal to me visually that much more then previos android versions. I mean yea it would be way better in terms of performance but not cosmetic wise not as speaking as Samsung tw or htc sense. I expected it to be more like those by default. Instead, they've totally done away with the dock shortcuts for convenience. The galaxy nexus has it tho. I'm hoping that the OS will work well with UI shell overlays and there will be good home replacement apps that can be made to compliment the new OS. Overall I am looking forward to its release and ports to different devices for I am looking to be somewhat wo'ed by ics.

ICS release, it's mean Honeycomb is over

ICS source already released on market by Google, it's mean Honeycomb is over ?
ICS design running both on mobile phone and Tablet, who's going to use Honeycomb on tablet anymore ?
Since honeycomb source was never released, the only people running it would be tablets that haven't gotten the update, ergo honeycomb will be over once everyone picks up an update
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I had an Asus Transformer on honeycomb, I sold it once CM7 and WebOS could dual boot on the TouchPad.
Honeycomb wasn't as good as WebOS OR CM7 in my opinion....
CM7 is still very buggy and doesnt hav enough tablet optimization
lets patiently wait for ICS

I did the exact same thing about 2 weeks ago. I really didn't like honeycomb at all. I really hope ICS is better. I am going to be truly disappointed if it is a lot like honeycomb. I guess I will be one of the few with Gingerbread on an Evo3D a year from now. Hopefully HTC can get the ugliness gone with Sense.

Honeycomb Source was released because it had to be released due to Open Source Licensing. (GPL & LGPL)
Even thought the development of Honeycomb has pretty much dead ended with ICS source being dropped, to remain in compliance they had to release it.
The only reason they didn't, as I understand it, is it still being a bit buggy and the fear of people trying to port it to phones resulting in mass hysteria.

Why do you guys threat Honeycomb and CM7 as completely different OS? 3.0 is way better than 2.3, its better optimized, runs more smoothly, has more features. CM7 is alpha, its ****, not better than Honeycomb 3.0. It would be cool if someone manage to port honeycomb into our touchpads until CM teams decides to make a ICS port which they have said will take 2 months.

the CM are too busy playing BF3 to care about making an alpha 3 or anything for our cheap tablets, quiet honestly I am happy with webOS until there is an ICS port. Sure vanilla webOS sucks major ass but after installing a lot of patches, its pretty good. CM7 alpha on the other hand its not better than webOS. If you guys want a cheap tablet for media, buy that India 50 dollar tablet that actually can play youtube content smoothly

you thought they wouldnt infect it with touchwiz? lol where have you been
(assuming this is true) as much a visual difference is slightly disappointing, a guts upgrade to ICS is really what matters most. I'll take a normal UI that operates faster than a fancy UI any day.
I like how the one ****ty leaked Rom that was posted gives them the basis to write this article.
Correction, no ICS interface for non-rooted stock phones.

personally, I dont care too much for a couple of reasons. 1. I actually liked Touchwiz (at least 4.0+) and 2. I wasn't going to be running stock anyway, so if I really need that ICS interface, CM9 will 90% sure be on our phones. And, at least we're (by that I mean the Galaxy S 2) getting the update. Look at the Captivate for example
Most of us won't bother with stock samsung UI so it won't matter. CM9/MIUI V4 is in my future.
Non-issue article. Move along.
Touchwiz 4.0 on Android 2.3: Looks great!
Touchwiz 4.0 on Android 4.0: Dear god that looks ugly.
Since when did people start believing that if we got ICS that it was going to AOSP? We didn't get AOSP gingerbread.....its why all firmware releases are delayed. It gives manufacturers time to put on their UI......not to mention AOSP ICS is the corniest looking POS I have ever seen......the icons are way oversized.....the corny folder crap we have had on GO for a year. I am so glad to see TW covering up that abomination. Give me the guts to optimize my dual core and get the rest the hell outa here.

I disagree, touchwiz covers up the best parts about ICS, it went well with touchwiz 4 on gingerbread because it looks better than stock gingerbread. Stock ICS IMO is way ahead of anything else on the market
The article is referring to the leaked roms on the I9100 there is still time for Samsung to wrap ICS up in a newer/revamped TW UI.

Kind of disappointing but cm9 will fix that quite nicely. Not to say I'm at all surprised.

I actually dont care either way the looks can be changed easily for both rooted and non rooted people. Honestly after having ICS'd out on my phone for a daily driver for a good while I switched to MIUI because the color combo of ICS gets old quick
doesnt bother me, i love touchwiz and i just wanted ICS underhood features... this is GREAT news for me... looks perfect, i would miss it if it was removed... i dont think ICS looks all that amazing IMO
I'm positive we'll get a good version of ICS whether it be official or from a DEV what difference does it really make?
not much it will be here within the next three months either way
