[Q] No Signal After Flash - HTC Rezound

I have scoured and exhausted all my resources trying to figure out where I went wrong besides not making a backup.
I unlocked my device and rooted it before attempting any of the following.
I got my HTC Rezound and flashed the CWM Recovery image 5.5.0.4. After I flashed the boot image CleanROM 1.5.5. When my phone booted up I had lost all signal. For some reason it occasionally gives me 1x then goes back to no signal at all.
Figuring it was something wrong with CleanROM I followed the super noob guide to installing ZiggyROM. I flashed over the recovery image with the one requested in the thread.
Again when my phone booted back up I have no signal.
I would appreciate any and all help given to me.
Thank you

Bump I really need help

This.
If not that, I'd say make sure you flashed the boot.img...granted that really shouldn't change anything with the radio and signal.

Also, there have been reports of problems using CWM. Switch to Amon Ra and reflash.

AmonRa is what Scott uses to test on. He doesn't use CWM. Although I haven't had a problem with it before flashing AmonRa myself to ensure a flawless 2.0 flash.

I've had this problem as well. As the digitizers have been known to fail, I ordered a replacement. However, right now I'm on CleanRom ICS and have not experienced the problem (and it was pretty bad before). Previously I had switched between many different Roms and always experienced the problem. So, I don't know if it is just a fluke that it seems to be working great now or what. It's made me question whether I should go with the replacement when it arrives, or keep my current phone.

Interesting, I wonder if it is the roms effecting the phones, obviously not all phones, just a handful...

Try a different one or an older version of Meanrom and see if that fixes it. If it does, then mention the issue to Mikey on the MeanRom forum.

I misread. The OP listed only MeanRom 1.4, but the other did say roms. Does it do it on Gb based roms too? I've also seen a lot of digitizer issues from others recently so it can't be random.

Can you force download mode by plugging in while holding sound up and dowb and power buttons or is it just sound up and down?

You're mean
I don't know for sure, but I would imagine if it didn't flash, the counter won't trigger and he'll be OK. That's why I asked about the recovery - if it's still stock the flash probably didn't take. If it is a custom recovery, it probably means that the flash took and borked his phone...that would be the case where I would think he could expect a hefty phone bill when they catch on...
Well they would charge him for shipping the new phone checking the old phone, won't be pretty lol. This is what you get for just diving into flashing formware , I read the topic he flashed from and I knew it wasn't good for our phone yet it wasn't ported to i777 so there's no way I'd flash that.

Your phone was totally recoverable. In my view, you should have taken responsibility for your actions, and stayed with the issue till you fixed it.
It's a shame, and just plain wrong, when people abuse the warranty to get a new phone for free when the problem was due to their own actions. It's like stealing. From my time in the forum, however, it seems to be rather common behavior. I even see a post from time to time where one person advises another to do this.
At least AT&T/Samsung wind up with a phone which can be repaired and resold.
And now, since you sent them an I777 which boots to stock I9100 recovery, you will have a month or two of existential anxiety while you wait to see if they charge you full price for the phone, as written in their warranty.

Oh goodie! You messed up your phone and got AT&T to fix it by giving you a new phone, the cost of which they can easily pass on to their other users.:good:
If u screw up yer phone, and u don't want to bother with trying to get "technical" and figure it out, there is a good chance this cycle will repeat itself. I would suggest taking a few days and just pouring over all information available here on how to do things and getting things properly understood before u go about flashing again.

I agree with this ^^^
I had this happen to me when I had my Photon. After about a week, I couldn't deal with it anymore. I fully wiped and reflashed everything, and I worked like a champ after this.
Another time, it keep freezing up and rebooting. It did it about 10-15 times a day, and I couldn't figured out why. It drove me crazy. After reading on xda that it maybe a bad app, I started removing the apps I had installed around the time it started. Once I removed the problem app, I never had an unexpected reboot again. I would have never believed an app could reek such havoc, but they can. Uninstall your apps one at a time, and see if the speed improves. You may have one not playing nice.
Hope this helps. Good luck
Did it run slow while it was stock? Maybe you have a bum unit.

Relock without fastboot

M moms rezound broke. Well just the charging port so I cant hook up to PC to use fast boot and do that writesecureflag3 command. I don't want to send this thing back s-off.

In fact, some people have received devices that passed the "100 point inspection" that still had CWM or CyanogenMod still on them
I returned an incredible that still had cwm on it and a rezound that said relocked on it with no problem at all, I wouldn't doubt that they make that statement just to scare you into not doing it.

[Q] htc amaze wifi error

im currently running ViperA1.7.1 I was previously using Energy_8.6.2012.Amaze.Sense.3.6_ICS both worked well no problems, but after about a week or so I start getting wifi errors and have to reflash the rom. ive done this numerous times and it gets tiresome having to set everything up again. is there a reason why I get wifi errors periodically ?
I'm not sure. But Viper is funny with wifi. Only with Viper I can't sign into my college wifi. Either way. Back up, format all partitions (except sd) , flash and restore?

Alright here we go,
If you haven't done so already, flash the most stable T-Mobile RUU. The most stable is not the latest. If you are S-OFF then you don't need to relock the bootloader. The RUU is NOT a stock custom ROM, it's a program that flashes the original stock ROM onto your phone and usually fixes all software related issues.
Check to see if Wi-Fi works. You can unlock the bootloader again if you're not S-OFF then re-root.
Now you may flash a ROM.

On this one I don't know if I can agree with you. Here in Miami, where T-Mobile has already finished refarming and reallocating its bandwidth from the Metro acquisition my WiFi and data is better than ever with the latest baseband. My connection is both fast and stable, and I don't have a single issue. This wasn't the case a couple of months ago, but then a call to T-Mobile tech support resulted in them giving me a new SIM card which resolved all of my problems. My previous SIM card was only 6 months old at the time, but tech support informed me of changes in how the new cards are programmed to take advantage of the new post merger configurations. Like I said, my service and connectivity is now the best it's ever been with the latest radio ruu.

Does it say "Wi-Fi error" when you turn Wi-Fi on? I mean in the settings menu where it normally says "connected to..."
If it does you have a hardware issue.
There are two tricks to try.
1. Clean the little gold connectors on the back cover of your case. Those are the antenna connectors. Use a rubber eraser on a pencil. Get all the rubber shavings out before you reassemble.
2. There it's a tin foil trick that is a hardware mod. There a thread on it with pictures. The jist of it it's to put foil over the connectors to give it a bigger antenna. There are pros and cons of doing this. I did this for a while and didn't really see any results.
The Wi-Fi issues generally with earlier versions of viper amaze were from modules that didn't match the kernel. That has been resolved since before I added the aroma installer.
Also, one last thing. If you have two amazes ruining viper, they screw up the Wi-Fi. Going from sense 3.5 to sense 4.1 and up, there's something weird about how the phone gets its address, so if my dev device is on and Wi-Fi is on and my daily phone is on with Wi-Fi on, I don't get Wi-Fi on either.
Hope that helps!

I have seen much worse here. Some people spell "Chevy" as "CHAVY". I even saw someone spell Chevy as "Chewy". I want to cry because it was so bad but I can't. -_-

If XDA had a voice-messaging feature and we could record our voices and send them, you will be surprised at how funny people on this forum will sound!
