Xoom Wifi is a google experience device, similar to Nexus in phones. Why Razr will release update before GED?
Because the xoom used stock android version. There's no motorola UI

I have just received ics on my xoom.
Now on my razr and I am very happy.
Come on moto,I want some ics on the razr.

In Motorola speak "soon" could mean 2013
motorola say "soon" in october 2011
we are in end january 2012 .....
If I use the same "Soon" than moto when my wife ask me to take a bath..... I will never go close of she XD

Just be patient Google own Motorola the ICS update will be soon judging by within one month its already updated from android 2.3 to 2.6
One of my other phones is a Lg Optimus Black and after 6 months of lateness and waiting its finally got android 2.3 this week (LG suck for updates) to make things really funny its also getting ICS but that will probably be 2014 at earliest

Whoever wrote it is speculating off of our speculation at droidrzr.com
I'm really thinking this will be 6.12.173 or something similar. Vivo users are getting a soak test of an update to make their cellular performance better, which 6.12.173 does by updating the radio.
is there a link to enroll in the tests?

I believe Moto was telling people at CES that ICS would come sometime in Q2 of this year. Which would make sense. After Gingerbread was announced in Nov of 2010, the 1st Moto phone to receive it was the Droid X. I was a part of the soak test group. About a week after soak test, it was pushed out to all devices. That was in May of last year, Q2. So don't hold your breath for ICS just yet.

Well, based on soak test schedules before, I'd assume it'd be a little less then a week before we find out for sure.
BUT seeing that ICS is leaked in EU as of now, I'm pretty sure it might actually be ICS
One thing about finding unsupported builds is they may not actually happen. Plus, from what I saw of 173, those are advancements that can be shoved into ICS

CM10, most likely
Official from Moto, no way in hell
doubt it unless Motorola/google are able to convince Sprint into making their existing phones (like the photon) into a "nexus" build.
They are aldready 1yr late on ICS.

they just pushed cm9 rc1, for them to have to start over with graphics and all that for the changes, i dont see happening. jb is very nice and i cant wiat for it but it wasnt groudbreaking like ics was and keylime in nov will prolly be cm10

Since this thread is titled "Jellybean", it's probably not the best thread in which to ask about CM9 things!
I wish Motorola would just forgo ICS and just work on a JB ROM for the Photon since we have to wait for Q4 release anyways. I wouldn't mind if it didn't get released until Nov/Dec if that is what it took. I would love to use Google Now and new voice feature.

I agree with this idea. Since the changes from ICS are minor, why not just go to the newest version?

1. Can we stop hating on Motorola? Our phones are made by Motorola Mobility, which is now a part of Google. I think Google deserves a fair share of blame for capable Motorola phones not being updated with/shortly after the Nexus line. Nexus is third-party anyway. N1 was HTC, next one was either HTC or Samsung, GNex is Samsung, and N7 is Asus. First-party is the Droid line and anything else by Motorola.
2. JB should be CM10; KLP should be CM11. J is the 10th letter of the alphabet; I the 9th. CM hasn't done .n releases for major revisions of Android arbitrarily considered to be minor. CM7.2 is still Gingerbread. There is no CM8 AFAIK because that number is reserved for Honeycomb. (Maybe there is a CM8 based on HC and I'm simply misinformed. But I haven't heard of it.)
3. I don't trust Google/Motorola Mobility to upgrade us Electrify owners to anything. I do believe Photon will get ICS by the end of the year, if not sooner.
4. "Why don't they skip ICS?" Your Money. They know you... or rather the uninformed masses... will buy an ICS phone to replace their GB phone, then a JB phone to replace that.
5. There is no new Play Store. You may have heard about a new Play storefront that removes reflections. It's all server side; you have it already.

No, see that makes sense, which motorola seems to be lacking. Hopefully Google can have some influence here though I doubt it.

Well if Motorola is truly working on a new LTE phone for Sprint then I doubt Sprint would entertain the JB ROM idea for the Photon 4G. Depending on when the phone is going to be released, they might target the new LTE phone to have Jelly Bean especially if the phone won't launch until October/November.

Many of us did get ICS in Q2. A lot of foreign regions show Q3, though.
DROID RAZR (XT912) got update in Q2, RAZR (XT910) will get update in Q3
who cares? all official ICS is out and provided by kholk and eternity team
Just wondering, have we gotten any JB leaks yet?

Are you talking GSM? Stuff for cdma has been out.
Currently, devs are compiling CM10/AOKP(JB) jelly beans by using libs we got with the ics updates. Since JB is mostly system/framework changes, we don't need a new radio/kernel to get it working. There are dev/experimental jb builds being posted and updated by devs in the Dev Section. You can find out what features are working and more info on how to flash there.

my upgrade in in june 2014 do you really think that $100 rebate will still be available then? I think not. I am on my second razr and i had orginally got a tbolt, then a warrenty tbolt, then a warrenty replacement to rezound, then vzw switched me to a razr, and that razr has screen blotches so they are sending another razr.... Do you think they will send me a razr hd or s3 at some point?
They have to first try and get you something similar first, so RAZR HD is probably what you would wind up getting possibly.

Looking how moto handled ICS release, especially for GSM, i don't think we will see JB release. Well, at least now we have kexec and CM thanks to dhacker and team. I'm using their CM10 (non-kexec) and pretty happy with it.
I second that

This.
I'm using the CM10 from September 22nd and it's working nearly perfectly.
Only problems I see are the signal indicator, which appears almost empty (even though the signal works fine) and the animation when you change from portrait to landscape, a glitch that only lasts for a second.
It's my daily rom now, blazing fast.
no webtop for cmf10 roms, right?
In the first quarter of 2013 it will come out as insurance against Obama recession if he gets elected and the market tanks Google will need spin. Stock price wise I think it was up to it all time record today . they don't really have to make anybody happy
Motorola RAZR MAXX - XT912 - 1325mhz - - SimplexROM 1.2 -LinuxInstaller UbuntuV5 - And if my spelling is incorrect it's voice recognition bla bla
saw that they've released jellybean for Droid Razr M.
Is it possible for a dev to port this jellybean build to the regular Droid Razr?
or is the code that much different between the two?
I'm sure it won't be difficult

DROID RAZR (XT912)
ICS Upgrade (Android 4.0.4) rollout began in June 2012. Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
So I believe that can be easily ported out to xt910 gsm version.
It looks like they don't give a f**c about EU xt910, they didn't even mention about JB upgrade:
"ICS Upgrade rollouts began in Q3 2012 for select countries and carriers".
I think we as XT910 users should start some kind of campaign to let motorola know that they should give a big FFFF about us !
so, according to the motorola site, the XT912 WILL get jellybean sometime !
ha...didn't know that.
so that makes this thread meaningless.
sorry for starting.
Moderator can delete this thread i errantly started.
sorry.
HTC said that about ICS on Desire HD, and finally we hadn't any official ICS. I hope we won't get the same story here

It will eventually come as it did with ICS. There is no diffrences between xt912 and the xt910 besides the radio (GSM and CDMA) have some patience
You guys seems to forget all about the locked bootloader and the regional signing of the partitions. If only the X912 get the upgrade we will be stuck with ICS kernels unless we erase the CID partition and boot with BP tools. If they gonna upgrade the X912 is totally unfair to left us behind the x910 users.
