REMINDER $ 50.00 Pricematch for Bestbuy.com buyers - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Some may consider this a duplicate thread but I think it's important enough.
Mikeypopps posted that Microcenter has the Prime for 449.99 I just called BB.com where I placed my order at 499.99 and they gave me 53.00 back including taxes.
Thanks Mikey for the heads up.

OP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453474

Doesn't Amazon do this same thing? I bought mine on Amazon through electronic express, think I'll have any luck getting a refund?

Not sure. BB.com has a specific policy of matching BB.com prices, BB instore prices and local retailer prices. The only thing about it is you can't do it instore you have to call in.

BB can be sticklers for not allowing it if the store is not within 25 miles of best buy and the item has to be available in the store. I'm happy for those who get the refund.

I have a feeling that they may have checked that when processing mine. I just told her the Microcenter up the street has it and it took her 3-4 mins before she said the credit was being processed. I asked her how they verified because I thought I would have to email the ad and she said they have to verify in their system. I have a Microcenter about 10miles from my Home and it is 3 miles from a Best Buy

Successful pricematch at bestbuy.com but was denied on my other Prime I purchased at Office Depot

Just got off the phone with BB and got an email

Hmmm. Think I could bamboozle 'em for another $53? I got a my Prime on Jan 3, then 2 days later got FULL CREDIT from Best by to the tune of $533.00 for taking my dissatisfaction a few notches higher than most, then a week later, a $50.00 Gift Coupon showed up in the mail. Mostly I took it up the executive chain because one "Resolution manager" told me no way on a free dock., this after a particularly nasty bit of "customer disservice" they had done. I decided there & then that I was going to get satisfaction, nut it worked out better than I ever expected. Basically, they PAID ME $50.00 to take the Prime (I had to tell the story at least once, but I will shut up now.) Besides, I had to by the Dock out of pocket, from Abes of Maine... I feel so guilty... NOT!!!
Think I should try for the Price Guarantee? I want to do it against the HHGregg offer of $399.99 for Prime 32 Gb. They were said to offer the price in the store, and BB is giving a 60 Day Price Match for all Holiday 2011 purchases. Hehe. Think I will give it a shot. They have such a horrendous point of sale/ Inventory system, they may just go for it... Am I being greedy? Yep. But I think all's fair, after all BB got a bit greedy with the preorders when everyone else had shut them down. What goes around and all that

Thanks for saving me 50 + tax. Thanks also given at the top of the thread!

Just got my $50 price match credit. All i did was call them and told them micro center has the Prime for $449.99 and she just said ok we applied the $50 credit to your card, without calling to micro center to verify if they had it in stock or if it was an in store price. Funny how when I tried doing it for the HHGregg difference they wanted to call and verify if the item was in store, etc. which led to an unsuccessful price match, but this time they just said ok no questions asked lol. Anyways thanks OP put $50 back into my wife's wallet

Thanks so much. Just called and got 52.14 back. So after reward points I paid a total of $354 for the tablet.

Had to convince him that 28 miles was within tolerance of their 25 mile limit. After asking permission, he came back and said he could do it.

No MicroCenter stores in my state. /wrists

Doesn't matter what state you live in, i live in Florida and told them the MicroCenter in Yonkers New York had it and she applied the credit.

Yes - This rebate worked for me at Best Buy. It is well worth the $50

Has someone tried this at a local Bestbuy with an OMS order?

This is great, just called them up and they credited me $50.

Radioshack - $10 off evo3d and 20% off accessories

You should be able to get $10 off of the evo 3d using a $10 off $40 purchase by reviewing a recent purchase from a radioshack (I did the giftcard/preorder purchase): Link to survey
If you checkin using foursquare, you can get accessories for 20% off if it's your first checkin at that radioshack. You may also have to do a second order if you can't use both coupons at once.
Here's a link to find radioshacks near you. If you see an orange 'special' logo next to your radioshack, they should be participating in the 20% off for 1st check in deal. Click on the link and look to the right for the Newbie Special.
Exclusions for the foursquare deal are listed below (the $10 off $40 does not exclude cell phones):
[email protected] said:
The official answer for your question is that the exclusions are as follows: Post Paid wireless phones, Apple products, gaming hardware/software, laptops/netbooks/desktops, tablets, gift cards, services, special orders, and online and phone orders excluded. The offer may not be combined with any other offer. No cash value.

Actually it isn't ymmv it should work 100% because every radioshack runs this promotion. I emailed them last month because I didn't see the orange special logo next to the store I pre ordered with. They got back to me a couple days later beacuse they forwarded my question to my local district radioshack ceo and they told me that they informed that radioshack to accept the 4square coupon and they also made a new 4square page with the orange special logo and got rid of the old one. Every Radioshack is supposed to accept this deal no matter what, so if you have any doubt at all just email them asking if they could inform your store about the deal and make it so that there is an orange special logo next to your store.
Also do you have any idea if I can use the $10 off $40 and the 20% 4square coupon at the same time? I have had the $10 off coupon since I preordered my E3d and I forgot to ask in my email.
They might not b able to ring it up.but if you can get this it make me feel, less bad about my preoder now that wirefly has it for 150 although a week later and tax less

Yeah I realized that I was planning to use on accessories, which also are given 15% off when purchased at the same time as the phone.

Yeah... I bought my EVO at RS. They said I could get money off accessories... but they didn't have anything for the evo... they had a couple of generic cases but that was about it, and they were over priced. This time I preordered from Sprint.
I tried to use the exact coupon when I got my Epic 4G at RadioShack. They wouldn't let me use the 10$ off because it doesn't apply to cellphones.
Will work on accessories though.

Here is the exclusions from the $10 off coupon for a purchase of $40. Mine is different from the one posted earlier:
*This coupon has a unique code and is valid for one use only. Must surrender coupon at time of redemption. Multiple printouts or photocopies will not be accepted. Offer valid with coupon through July 9, 2011. Limit one coupon per person. Laptop/netbook/tablet computers, Apple® products, gaming hardware/software, gift cards, services, refurbished GPS are excluded. May not be combined with certain other discounts. No cash value. No photocopies. Void where prohibited. RadioShack reserves the right to end or change this offer at any time.
I don't see the cell phone exclusion, but I don't like the comment RadioShack reserves the right to end or change this offer at any time. I am going to try.

Nice vague wording..."Certain other discounts" could mean $75/$150 off from Sprint and invalidate the coupon. Who knows, we will just have to wait and see, I guess.
"Well, here's this coupon, but we can change it any time for any reason. And it may already be expired, but if not, we might not accept it anyway."
Whatever
2.3.4 on a Hero? Yup
20% off accessories? That'd still put Radio Shack at costing far above Amazon's prices!

Play.com (UK) 16GB/32GB - full price/discounted price - VICTORY! now refunding!!

Hi guys, I though it would be a good idea to start a threat just for everyone who placed an order through Play.com UK and paid full price.
We can use this thread to keep everyone updated on the progress of their ordered, and any updates etc; whether they are able to get it at the discounted price, full refund, partial refund etc.
I ordered a 16GB this morning at 8:30am, and order was confimed at 2:44pm and sent to packing for delivery.
Price - £349
ordered at about 5am this morning
order confirmed at 05:57
packed at about 4pm this afternoon
16GB @ £349
Mailed them asking to cancel and advised I will source elsewhere for a much cheaper price... (I imagine its too late though)
Looks like Play.com are out of stock now. I can't find the HP touchpad 16/32gb anywhere on their site. It was there a few hours ago.
I'm also waiting on a Touchpad from play.com which I bought at full price earlier today.
My gut instinct having dealt with Play earlier on similiar issues is that we'll all be returning our TP's for a full refund
Still I'm going to remain optimistic..

I'd recommend not cancelling your order just yet.
you'll be in a better position to negotiate with them once you have the product.
If you cancel before they despatch it, they won't lose anything, they'll just send it to someone else who was able to place an order.
Once you've got it, hopefully we'll be in a better position a few days after all this commotion, and they may be willing to refund the difference.
otherwise they have to go through the hassle or receiving product back, and then arranging to sell it on - probably at the reduced price.
I'm going to wait to see if mine actually comes through, then assess the situation then.
If they don't openly offer the refund, I'll put a complaint to them, and to the FSA.
their returns policy gives you 7 days to request the return or raise an issue - this is different to 7 days to actually return the item to them.
The complaint etc could last as long as you want, as long as you raise the issue within 7 days.
we should have a strong argument if we refer them to the fact they were aware on Monday that the supplier had significantly reduced the price, and that a large number of supplier not just in UK, but all across the world had reduced their prices to fall in line, and they are being unfair against the consumer by acting this way.
We could also quote things we can get - regarding their comments on Monday evening that they were aware of the price discount and were working on it, yet they chose to do nothing.
Ordered as mine was in my cart, however at time of checkout it stated not in stock.
I doubt I'll get it. however I'm also one of the wait and see's
There may be hope for us yet.
In the US - HP have agreed to refund customers the difference of all ordered purchased within 60 days of the price change.
HP are also 'leaning' on companies to offer the price match themselves.
So if Play.com don't crumble under the pressure over the next few days - maybe there is hope from HP directly.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/mobile-ne...efund-price-differences-for-early-buyers/3857
HP apparantly informed retailers on Monday that the prices will be reduced, and requested that all retailers offer to refund the difference in the sale price.
HP also advise that it can take a few days for all retailers to act on this.
called play.com in the end and they said it was too late to stop dispatch anyway (wanted to save myself a couple of £ in postage to be honest) - they have sent me my return code and marked it as potential return
so i still have to wait for it anyway...
but the chap I spoke to I did would they not do a price comparison, or are they even considering lowering the price but he said nope. Full refund or keep at full price basically.
@danlat1415 - do you have any of that information or anyway to process that with HP as I'll consider keeping it if thats the case! I wonder if we can ping an e-mail to HP pronto to try and get some clarification from them that we can apply for refunds if the retailer won't honour it...
If I was HP and I'd told everyone to cut the price on Monday, and found out retailers were basically ignoring them (probably to pocket the profits) I'd be a bit peeved -
out of this experience, I'll definitely not be considering Play.com for anything further apart from as a last resort...
sounds like @Analogue Dude has had a similar experience before... that's the feeling I am getting now too.
I'm looking into what HP are doing for UK customers and I'll keep you updated.
It's still very early, and once order are sent out and customers start complaining in large numbers - they may change their mind.
Also depends on what action HP take over the next few days.
Play.com don't want to get bad publicity, and if all other retailers are honouring the price change, it'll be bad for Play.com to try and profit from the limited stock they have - compare to the bad publicity they'll get.
I've been hunting around the net, and this isn't the only forum complaining about Play.com's decision, so strength in numbers...
I guess the only real outside chance of getting a partial refund is if every customer who bought a TP from them returns it this week. Hopefully the logistical nightmare/expense of checking every return will push Play into offering the refunds.
As I said earlier I doubt it happens though, Play are a horrible company to do business with, I haven't used them for years and if it wasn't for this deal I wouldn't have touched them with a foot long stylus.
I'd recommend anyone who has ordered from Play.com to complete the form on the attached link for the BBC Watchdog program.
we may not get anywhere with it, but it's best to put as much pressure as we can on Play.com to honour the discounted price.

Really hope so or HP kick their ass (which I doubt will happen)
I got the impression of a very non-caring company when I called them up - to be honest, I had a good impression of them before - but only used them a handful of times... I guess its because I never had to _deal_ with them properly before and just did an order which came and had no issues...

done that - not sure how much help it will give though...
i also wonder though is it worth putting in a 'request to return' with play for everyone's who order has dispatched ? its too late to cancel, but if they have a _lot_ of requests to return and the main reason being the stupid prices... ?
Don't suppose there is a HP email addy to send concerns to? Wonder if they can confirm or deny possible refunds...

As far as I know, Argos and Play.com were the only two retailers that hadn't yet offered the lower price (whether it be for a limited time, like Amazon)
But Argos has this morning now caved in and reduced their prices to £89 and £115.
This will hopefully help in the fight against Play.com
they are now the only hightreet retailer trying to greatly profit from this sale.
I'm waiting for an update from HP and I'll let you know. Waiting to hear back from their press office.
So far they have only confirmed that they'll refund direct customers, and credit the retailers.
Just waiting to find out if their credit customers of retailers who are refusing to refund the difference.
(if the retailer are being credited by HP, then they are severely taking advantage of the customer.)
As more developments happen each day, hopefully by the time the Touchpads arrive it'll all either be sorted or a lot clearer.
had an email from play.com this morning saying they would not refund the difference and only option was to keep or send it back for a full refund.... will post the email in a few
was looking for an e-mail form for hp too to submit my disappointment with play
Thank you for your reply.
We regret to inform you that we are not able to process a partial refund should there be a change of price for HP TouchPad 16GB webOS 3.0 WiFi 9.7 inch Tablet PC but we are more than willing accept the item back upon receipt for full refund.
We have two options to process a refund for this order.
First is to allow 15 banking days delivery time frame to take effect so we can provide a Not Received Claim Form and the second is to return the item upon receipt. The latter option will require a Returns Authorisation code which we will be happy to provide as soon as you contact us.
You also have the option to print a pre-payed label on-line. In order for you to return an order, please follow the step by step procedure which can be found on the link below:
http://www.play.com/Help.html?page=retn
This will prompt you to sign in on your PLAY.com account and choose the order you need to return.
We hope that this information is of some help to you. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this matter has caused you and thank you for your patience and valued custom.
Kind Regards,

Thank for the update.
I too have got an email this morning confirming my order has been despatched via DHL and I've got a tracking number.
expect it to take upto 5 working days to be delivered, then I have 7 days for receipt to inform them if I wish to return for full refund.
That's approx 8-13 days to get this resolved and to put pressure on Play.com

I got $70 credited back

It's been 5 days since I purchased my Gnote for $300. I was able to get the activation fee waived and an additional 22% off my total bill thanks to being casino worker.
I went to Fry's yesterday to pic up a micro sd card and found they had the Gnote on sale for $229.
I immediately called AT&T and requested a $70 credit. At first the agent told me to "return the phone" and buy the one that's cheaper. I told him I don't want to pay a $35 restocking fee. Puts me on hold. He then says he would credit me $35. I stood firm and again said that I would like a full $70 credit. Puts me on hold again. He then says "I see you got an employee discount already". I interrupted him and said I don't want to talk about my employee discount I want to talk about getting a $70 credit back. For the 3rd time he puts me on hold. Finally he says where I got the discounted price, asked for the addresss of the store and even mentions that it shows Fry's is selling it for $279. I just about lost my patience but I lied and told him "I'm here at the store and they have them in stock for $229 and not for $279" He pauses a few seconds and then says "OK I will credit you $70".
So if it's been less than 30 days since you bought your Gnote for $300 as a new customer. Check your local Fry's store to see if they have it on sale. Call customer care and request a credit. Be prepared for them to do everything they can to prevent you from getting a credit but just be patient and keep at it on your request.
most agents i know give in easily. att bases our sales payouts on 24 hour resolution. so if a customer calls back within 24 hours for whatever reason it affects the agents score. so a lot of them just give in to avoid a customer that will call back. that's what a lot of people i speak with tell me they have to do to get sales payouts.

Yep been with them for 4 yrs, and If I want something I ask for it, I got mine from best buy for $250, and asked them to match the ATT $150 sale price, they took out another $100.
Frys Electronics sale today for 199. Called customer service and they gave me 100 bill credit. Just say you were told to get the credit and then they will ask their manager to honor it.
I got a 100$ credit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I called and told them a ATT rep at the store told me to call Customer Care and tell them I need my 100$ credit and it worked . It took about ten mins.
Damn I could really use a $100 credit. I bought mine not from a direct ATT store though, just an ATT licensed store. Do you think it would work? What do you guys suggest I say..?

Booyakasha!
Just called now, got a $100 credit in literally less than 3 minutes. All I said was "Hi I'm just calling to get a credit on my recent purchase for my samsung note. The Att rep that I bought the phone from told me to call in to receive a credit due to Fry's having the phone on sale for $199" She immediately said absolutely, asked for my account info, asked for my purchase price, and applied the $100 credit to my account right away. No getting put on hold, nothing. She said the credits usually take 24-48 hours to show up online so I'll double back with the report to confirm.
Seriously though (assuming this goes through), thanks so much guys. I literally spent pretty much all I had on this phone so this $100 will go a long way for a college student.

HTC EVO 4G LTE @ BestBuy

Anyway...
Seems that just in the last hour or so, BestBuy has put up this page:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HTC+-+E...93&st=htc evo 4g lte&cp=1&lp=1&contract_desc=
Looks like I can get to bestbuy, use my bestbuy card, and pre-order after all. It was beginning to seem that Bestbuy was not doing pre-orders.
Good news good news!

I was just about to order from best buy, but I did a web chat with CSR and asked about 50$ gift card. He said that's only in-store. That's fine with me, as I only shop brick and mortar, but thought others may wanna know.

that regular price seems a bit steep. hopefully i can get the discount
what benefits are there to pre ordering with Best Buy? based from past experience, it assures you a phone at launch, but for the same price wouldn't you just pre order with Sprint and get it a couple days earlier(potentially)? unless you have a gift card or something
I know with the OG Evo and pre ordering thru radio shack, the nice part was radio shack processed the 100$ rebate in-store. I didn't have to mail the rebate in and wait 2mo for it in the mail. But, that may not be relevant anymore, as it appears the rebate is pre-processed with online sales.
That said, waiting for rebate in mail can be good, too. With my diamond, I got a rebate for 400 something dollars. Somehow the rebate center thought it was for 4 devices. Nice surprise in the mail, that's for sure.

I just got back from pre-ordering mine at my local best buy. I just had to pay $50, sort of a down payment but I got the $50 gift card. On the receipt it says the estimated date to pick up is May 18th but he said it could change.

Hate to say it, but you got ripped off my friend. Or maybe not. For this launch, BB doesn't require the downpayment (at least they didn't for me or anyone else I talked to - might be a regional thing though). All BB preorders get a $50 gift card without the downpayment, which you'll recieve when you purchase the phone. This gift card can then be used towards the cost of the phone - bringing the cost of the phone down to $150 if preordered at BB. Having said that, hopefully you'll still revive the extra $50 gift card when you go in to buy the phone.
Keep things on topic no Flame Wars
i got back from bestbuy.
NO MONEY was given.
they asked if im upgrading, zip, email, name, and printed out a sheet of paper detailing my reserved phone. they'll email me when its there.
they also give you a printout of available accessories for the phone on release date, otter case, n some other chit.
i guess i'll pay for it when it gets there, they said the gift card is given if you trade in your EVO. i was like, nahh. i was one of 2 people @ 2pm. (edit, sounds like bestbuys arent on the same page)
i dont think many people are excited about this phone or know about it.
either way, cool with me, saves me money until it arrives.
i wanted to walk out with that asus transformer prime/or t300
theyre speculating 18th, friday release too.
Same here. Just walked out of best buy. No money exchanged hands. No gift card. Just a paper reservation. Which has the wrong name in it, I noticed halfway home. A diff line/name/number on my family plan. Need to get this sorted out. They were selling Evo 4gs for 99$. I was surprised to see that. Almost got one for my mom for mothers day. But I'm thinking galaxy nexus for her. That way if Evo never gets flash friendly, I'll just trade her phones lol

Well if that's the case, I didn't get screwed over. I just bought myself a gift card. Which I don't really see the point in but at least I didn't have to pay for the whole phone right there.
I also got the "no gift card, no money exchanged" version of the pre-order at BB.
Do I have to get insurance with BB if I want insurance, or can I still get it elsewhere? Any suggestions?

the original evo 4g release at best buy was a joke.
sprint systems were bogged making activation an hourly issue, bestbuy was allowing later numbered people skip.
i hope this time around its a little more smooth.

mine was down payment. Paid $50 for a giftcard which I could then use to pay down the phone. Wasn't until recently that I read that you also get another $50 giftcard upon activation of the phone. I don't see it as a ripoff though, $50 is pocket change to me.

That's not a very flattering statement. But regardless, I would love some of your pocket change if it is so insignificant to you. Most people would have their day made if they found $50 on the street.
Similar experience at BB. Info given at 6 pm, got my paper, no money exchanged. 2nd in line (woman next to me was 1st), Will receive e-mail when it's in. Will cost 50$ to get the phone assuming im trading in my Evo. Through Sprint it would have cost me around 130$ or more depending on how much value the Evo loses over the next few days. No brainer there.

preorded today instore at best buy
no deposit (per the email they looked at in the system)
filled out paperwork just like i would on a normal upgrade
got confirmation (email and physical)
left my phone number and time i expected to pick it up (assuming it stays on 5/18 launch)
I didn't ask about $50 wireless freedom or $50 preorder, but that right there should drive price to $100, then add in $10 Google Wallet and possibly $50+ in trade in.
well done

How's that not flattering? Used to be a time when nice cellular phones weren't owned by everyone. I don't necessarily miss that. People have their priorities so far out of whack, it is absurd. If $50 is a lot of money to someone maybe they shouldn't be dropping $4000+ a year on cellular services and its accompanying toys.
Hell I commented on a post earlier about a guy taking no interest financing for 18 months on a sub $500 tablet. A lot of what is wrong with the current economy in the US. People living beyond their means. Feeling entitled. Always having to get the latest and greatest. Saddens me
I bought 2 for $250 shipped no tax. Considered paying for express shipping, but that would have negated my good deal by $40.

I completely agree with your comments about living our of their means. I also agree that this country is messed up that way. I am a teacher in a high school just outside of Chicago, and while 80% of my students are on free or reduced lunch, 100% of them own a cell phone (and about 80% are smartphones from my estimation). I find this to be both disturbing and indicative of our messed up system.
Anyway, I just didn't feel that flaunting the insignificance of x dollar amount was real classy. Maybe it was to make a larger point, to me it came off as very smug. I don't care how rich you are, saving $50 if the option is present should mean something to you, in my opinion.

Calling those who use Ebay!

Hi guys,
I put my transformer prime on ebay yesterday at a buy it now price of £350 which I thought was fair considering the prime's condition. Someone bought it within about 6 hours which was great, however, he only has 1 feedback for a saw he bought in 2011.
He sent me this message over ebay:
Hi mate, Glad I won your item. I'm currently in U.K at the moment. Please email me at [email protected], confirming the exact condition of the item. I will be going for an appointment will be able to access my email from my iPhone, so email me at [email protected] using the item number as the subject. cheers
seems dodgy. Only in the UK for a bit? going for an appointment? Using a freeweb email address? His address checks out as being from the UK
I am aware of people reversing payment on paypal once theyve received the product and I don't know how to defend myself from that happening. I can't afford to be scammed as I'm a student and need the money to buy a laptop as my other one packed up yesterday.
Any advice would be great,
Cheers, Nick
Did he send payment? Did he pay with Paypal?
Just make sure that you ship the tablet with tracking and insurance. You might consider doing a proof of delivery (signature) as well. As long as you can prove it was delivered to the address he specified he can't come back later and say he never got the item. The tracking, signature confirmation and insurance all cost a few bucks extra, but when dealing with a $350 item and a dodgy customer they are well worth the extra fee.

I'd be concerned about wanting to "confirm the exact condition of the item". If he wanted to do that he should have contacted you before bidding, not after winning. Also, whatever precautions you may take, if he leaves the country after he has your hardware in hand, you will not have much recourse if things go sour later-even if you have all the documentation to prove your side of things. Any way you could get him to pay cash?
On the yahoo account, I wouldn't be too concerned about that. I know lots of people who use yahoo, gmail, etc as their primary email accounts. This keeps things so that your email account is not tied to your ISP and you can keep your address if you change service providers. Also, I personally keep a separate Gmail account that I only use on ebay so that I don't have to give out my "real" address which I only give to friends and family.
thanks for your replies guys,
no, I have not received any money into my paypal account and am waiting for a response from him. Just a quick question regarding postal insurance: Do I insure my tablet up to the value of £350 and receive that if it all goes wrong? Why doesn't everyone just claim things went missing and both parties win?
also to the guy above, that bothered me too. The item's condition was extensively detailed in my description with photos and everything
cheers, Nick
With insurance you specify the sale price of the item and if it goes missing you collect that amount of money from the postal service which you then use to repay the purchaser.
The reason that everyone doesn't just say things are "missing" is because doing so is a crime punishable with prison time if you are found out. Also, it is unlikely that you will be able to get a stranger to reliably lie for you.

No. The worse case scenario is that you don't buy insurance and the package gets lost or damaged in which case you are out of a tablet and have to refund the $350 out of your own pocket because your item was never delivered.
(Total loss= Tablet + $$350)
2nd worst scenario is the tablet is lost, but you paid $5 (or whatever) for the shipping insurance so you don't have to refund the purchaser out of your own pocket but you are still missing a tablet.
(Total loss= Tablet + $5)
When shipping relatively expensive items overseas it is always worth paying an extra $10 or so to the shipping company for insurance, detailed tracking and signature confirmation. This is doubly true if you don't trust the buyer which seems to be the case with this guy.
I sell my prime with dock, with 399 euro. I buy this in aprile. 2years waranty. I never use this tablet, and i want to sell. I change 2 prime, for defective problems. This is OK. For link send PM.

oh I see, thus keeping the cash the buyer has given me.
This does sound like a scam to me, I once had very similar emails when I advertised a car.
I wouldn't part with your Prime until you have the money safely. I don't think you're covered by eBay payment protection (because his feedback is low), but might be worth checking with eBay customer service how protected you are.
Good luck!

Pretty much. According to eBay rules if your product was lost and not delivered you would have to refund them their money (Paypal would happily do it for them without your consent). If you bought insurance, the postal service would pay you the listed value of the tablet so you would get $350 (minus whatever you paid for insurance) and the purchaser would get their $350 back as well.
Insurance is ALWAYS worthwhile, especially for items over $100 and often for items as low as $30 if you have a bad feeling about the buyer.
I've used Ebay a LOT.
1 - Never send without a payment
2 - NEVER, I repeat NEVER EVER accept a payment through PayPal that they used a credit card to make. Reason? People claim that they were "frauded" and do a chargeback. PayPal retracts the money from you and you are out everything.
3 - If you receive a payment email from the buyer NEVER trust them. EVER. Go directly to your paypal through your web browser, never through their links. Reason? They have fake paypal pages set up to make you think you got the payment. I've seen this more times than I can count...it almost suckered me the first time it was that good.
4- ALWAYS get insurance, tracking number and mandatory signature upon delivery. DO NOT EVER send without any of these. Period.
5 - Make sure to ship through whatever government shipping options you have if available. Canada Post, USPS, whatever...this usually avoids brokerage fees (which you can apply to be your own broker and get the item anyway, but it's a headache and a HUGE scam shipping companies LOVE to employ for extra cash)
6 - If the guy says he's from somewhere reasonably local (UK, USA, Canada) then states "I am overseas working in Africa on a geological survey ship, can you please send to my cousin in Nigeria" tell him to **** off and repost it.
7 - EVERY fake buyer will send a template email "Thanks guy, I am happy to be winning your item off of ebay and can not wait to get it! I am so excited!", it never sounds conversational and never mentions the specific item. You can send them back an email that asks them specific questions and they'll answer with another template "Glad to hear from you, I will send the money requested and $50 extra dollars if you send the item as soon as possible through the fastest way".
If the person on the other end can't have a conversation, even in halted English, ignore them and move on. They are a scammer, usually from Africa, using templates to try to scam. Chances are they can't speak a lick of English, or even count. They entice with excited sounding emails offering extra money above and beyond the asking price, then send a fake email that they paid you with a link inside that takes you to a fake page.
This screams scam, I'd back away from it right now. If your selling on Ebay make sure you have someone with atleast 6 to 12 months history, and with a good rating. People will buy a bunch of crap $1 cables so they can raise up there rating and then start scamming on big name items.
When I sold my iPhone 3G years ago I ended up with someone offering to pay me and paypal but wanted me to ship to his Niece in another province... it was a gift and she'd be soooooo excited... apparently....
I walked away from that deal quickly.
Put it up on craigs list, meet in a public place and get cash.
I would run the other direction. This sounds no good.
