Ive just got my RAZR this afternoon, and the phone has taken it upon itself to populate the contacts app with everybody from my Facebook profile. Is there a way to remove them from contacts, and just have the people I actually call or text in there?
In Contacts
1. Press Menu
2. Select "Display options"
3. Enter "Facebook"
4. Uncheck it
Brilliant! Thanks a lot

Hi, I have installed the K9 app, but I can't make it to auto sync. I need to do it manually. Is there any settings to do auto update.
Best regards.

No one can help me on this?
Best regards.

Ok...
Get to the Accounts screen (If you're in the inbox, press Menu Button -> More -> Accounts)
Long press on the account you want to auto sync. An "Account Options" menu should pop up
Select "Account Settings"
Find the "Folder poll check frequency" option, and set it for how often you want it to check (obviously the more often it checks, the more battery it'll drain)
There are other options that you can use to decide how many mails to download (e.g. just those from the last day), and how much of large messages it should download
Guys, i have a problem with this ROM. It's related to PHONE.apk. Every time i try to add a contact it goes to GOOGLE CONTACTS and not the phone contacts. Even when i restored my vcard it only shows google contacts when i clic on the contact tabs. Is there a way to see the PHONE contacts and not google contacts ??
In the display options there is no option for display only the PHONE CONTACTS
Tks guys
I believe this is just something you change in your settings in accounts and sync?
Nope. I just don't know how to display only the phone contacts. There is no option for that.

You could try using an alternate dialer.
Can you give a hint on one?
For my phone, i just go to the contacts screen press the left button and select "display options". In that screen you should be able to select "only contacts with phones" and it won't show any of your contacts that are just email addresses, or twitter, etc
I have V4.5.7. though so I'm not sure if it would be different.
On my Galaxy S I had it set up so my contacts would only display my Gmail contacts. On the Galaxy SIII every time I go into my contacts I have to select the option to show contacts from Gmail.
How can I make this permanent???
Pretty sure it's in the same section. Rather than just selecting google contacts, go down to were it says customize, and set them there.

I do that but as soon as I restart the phone it goes back to showing contacts on the phone, sim, google, and facebook. How do I make it permanent?
Anybody?

Sorry, didn't realise I was talking to myself (just having a dig) I've turned my phone on and am now looking at it and will detail where to go.
Press menu
select Contacts to Display
select Customized List
Then go through each account option and either tick, or untick the ones you want. For me, when I do this it stays on each reboot, boot up, what ever.
In this section I have 4 google accounts showing on my phone, a facebook, a samsung, the sim, and the phone account. But I keep all the contacts I want in one of the google accounts so that is the only one I have set to display. And while I don't use any other accounts, there are some provider numbers in the sim account, and obviously facebook ones. But none of them ever show when I set this.
Hope that helps this time.
Okay well the contact list on the galaxy s3 is pretty annoying , all my contacts are sync with facebook and google. How can i just see my contacts on my sim and nobody else.

menu -> contacts to display -> custom -> tick whatever you want.
Go to your contacts. Hit your menu button. Then contacts to display. Should be good from here.

by doing that, you will only not display the contacts, but they will show up anyways when you do a search within contacts,
is there a way to not sync "other contacts" group in ICS?
setting doesn't stick
contacts to display resets when you exit and go back in. is there any way to make that setting stick?
thanks

Same issue here. Other contact apps does not have this issue, but idont like them.
So unfortunately I don't have a lot of information to go on here...but ever since setting up my sgs3, my SMS messages have been showing up in my email client...which kind of makes the email client unusable. I don't suppose anyone has any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?
Could be a couple different things.
1. The mail client has a "converged messages" view, make sure you only have your email account selected from the drop down.
2. did you install an SMS backup app that might be forwarding your SMS to your email account?
1) It actually sent the SMS messages back up to my exchange server...so when I did webmail, my SMS messages were showing up in the webmail client
2) I do have an SMS backup app, but it explicitly goes to my gmail, not to my exchange email.
I had the same happen. It went away when I did this:
1. Phone settings
2. Accounts & Sync
3. Select your exchange account
4. Under "common settings", select "settings"
5. Under "added accounts", select the account the sms come in under
6. Scroll all the way to the bottom, under "server settings" and deselect "sync sms".
I'm not smart enough to know why this worked, but it did.
I'd love to know why this is here...

That is the dumbest setting I have ever seen. I can't believe I didn't see it when I was setting the account up. Thanks!
Yea I'd like to know the practically behind this. If someone knows, just curious.
