Hi, I have installed the K9 app, but I can't make it to auto sync. I need to do it manually. Is there any settings to do auto update.
Best regards.

Best regards.

Ok...
Get to the Accounts screen (If you're in the inbox, press Menu Button -> More -> Accounts)
Long press on the account you want to auto sync. An "Account Options" menu should pop up
Select "Account Settings"
Find the "Folder poll check frequency" option, and set it for how often you want it to check (obviously the more often it checks, the more battery it'll drain)
There are other options that you can use to decide how many mails to download (e.g. just those from the last day), and how much of large messages it should download

I have an Eris running the lastest xtrSense and all of my google contacts are coming over from syncing, I cannot select just "My Contacts," nor can I choose select Groups I would like to sync.
One search said to go to People -> Groups -> Menu -> and then choose which groups to Sync. However, in my Menu I only have two choices, "Add Group" or "Delete Group." I have no option to choose which groups I would like to sync or not. If I click on one those groups and hit Menu I still do not have any syncing options.
Thanks in advance to anyone with a solution.
(Edit, I am lame, this should of gone in the Q&A sub-forum.)
I'm not running xtrSENSE or a stock ROM now, but, IIRC, within the People app you press menu, choose "view", and from there you can choose your contact groups.

Thanks for the reply. When I do People -> Menu -> View I only get the following options to check/uncheck
*Only Contacts with phone number
*Google (167)
*Show auto Gmail contacts
*Phone (0)
I have about 60 contacts in "My Contacts" that I would like to sync, and the other 100+ I would not like to sync.

Un-check "show auto Gmail contacts" and it should only sync My Contacts.

Ding Ding Ding. That does the trick. Thanks a ton. For some reason, that was driving me crazy.
Does anyone know how to normally access the full "Account & Sync" settings page? Basically, if you go to Settings -> Data Manager and and untick Background Data, then try and access Market you get a message saying "Background Data Disabled - Market needs background data to be enabled"..
..if you click the enable button, you get taken to a rather different "Accounts & Sync Settings" page from the one you can access by going to Settings -> Accounts..
This "Full" page gives you options to enable/disable background data as well as set whether apps sync data automatically. There is then a "Manage Accounts" section further down the page which is identical to the one in Settings -> Accounts, except here you can actually enable disable Motorola Sync (which isn't available as an option on the other page).. additionally, if you have something like Facebook installed, you can click on that to get to its sync settings (just a username and password page, the same as when accessed via Settings -> Accounts) - except here, the settings hardware key gives you a "Sync Now" option which isn't available normally)
Am running a regular xt910 (not rooted, just as it comes)
Any help appreciated
Hi
Sorry but I have no answer for you, I just wanted to say your post helped me turn on auto-sync for my calendar.
Thanks
Phil
Ive just got my RAZR this afternoon, and the phone has taken it upon itself to populate the contacts app with everybody from my Facebook profile. Is there a way to remove them from contacts, and just have the people I actually call or text in there?
In Contacts
1. Press Menu
2. Select "Display options"
3. Enter "Facebook"
4. Uncheck it
Brilliant! Thanks a lot

So unfortunately I don't have a lot of information to go on here...but ever since setting up my sgs3, my SMS messages have been showing up in my email client...which kind of makes the email client unusable. I don't suppose anyone has any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?
Could be a couple different things.
1. The mail client has a "converged messages" view, make sure you only have your email account selected from the drop down.
2. did you install an SMS backup app that might be forwarding your SMS to your email account?
1) It actually sent the SMS messages back up to my exchange server...so when I did webmail, my SMS messages were showing up in the webmail client
2) I do have an SMS backup app, but it explicitly goes to my gmail, not to my exchange email.
I had the same happen. It went away when I did this:
1. Phone settings
2. Accounts & Sync
3. Select your exchange account
4. Under "common settings", select "settings"
5. Under "added accounts", select the account the sms come in under
6. Scroll all the way to the bottom, under "server settings" and deselect "sync sms".
I'm not smart enough to know why this worked, but it did.
I'd love to know why this is here...

I had the same issue and I'm pretty sure this is exactly what I did to fix it.

That is the dumbest setting I have ever seen. I can't believe I didn't see it when I was setting the account up. Thanks!
Yea I'd like to know the practically behind this. If someone knows, just curious.

Googled a bit and found this solution which worked for me
First, press menu and go to "settings" - click on "Accounts & snyc" - uncheck "background sync" - now use your back key to get back to the screen where you saw "Accounts & snyc" and then click on "Applications"
Locate "Contacts Storage" - if you can't find "Contacts Storage", click menu again and select filter, then select all - open the "Contact Storage" and click "clear data" of "Contacts Storage"
Get back to the first step above and recheck "background snyc" -it will start to snyc and take anywhere from 2 minutes to 15 minutes.
Good luck mate
