Just bought my Lumia 800 this friday.
I checked the product code which is:
Code:
059N2C3
This device comes with:
Code:
Type Designator: RM-801
Software Version: 1600.2479.7740.11451
On the packaging box is says CV Denmark so it should be a Danish version.
Then I checked RM-801 in Nokia Data Package Manager and it can't find this particular product code I got.
Are Nokia still adding product codes, since this isn't showing up yet?
I can see that there is a Danish product code for Cyan which is:
Code:
059N4C1
And that got the latest 8107.
I guess it will be there eventually, just wait a little longer. The lumia just hit the market in Denmark right? You can check if Zune has any update available; 8107 is being rolled out since the 19th or so. The last Lumia will receive the update 2 weeks from that date because updates are made available in batches.
CV means Country Variant (=unbranded).
Yep the device just got here. I'll wait a bit longer for the update i guess

Guys, how can you do a quick check on the product code, eg. at a store?
Hmm so far I haven't been lucky with the Lumia 800. The first one I got had an annoying clicking sound when I used the touch screen on the right side (probably wasn't seated correctly in the casing). Then I went to exchange it for a new. The new one I got has a scratch on the inside of the glass. Hopefully the next one will be in perfect condition without any flaws
My screen sits slightly further in on the right side than on the left. But I think that I will keep it as it is.
I called Nokia Denmark today btw. regarding the battery issue that is oviously still there. The supporter verified that there was indeed a problem and that there will be a new firmware update very soon to fix that. I'm assuming it's going to be version 115xx. The current version is 11451. Well at least it is at Telenor.

I got mine on Friday at Elgiganten. Just exchanged the faulty one with a new faulty one. I don't hope the entire shipment of their cyan's is of this build quality I've seen so far

It wasn't loud. But loud enough to be annoying. It only happened on the right side of the screen. Now I'm going to collect my third device. This time from a different department. Hope it's all well now.

Yep so is my 3rd and proper Lumia 800. A huge thanks goes out to the great customer service at Elgignten Viby. She wrote to the other department that I had to open the device in store and check it for flaws before I left, so I went and checked and all is in perfect order now.
Sweet I'm glad to hear that you finally got a good one.
It's a really great phone if you get one that works.

You could read the code off a box (I think), or check the carrier line in the about section. The second one wont show you a code, but it will tell you if it's branded or not.

I contacted Sony Italy twice via email and in two weeks they still haven't replied! Getting a bit upset about this, ignoring me isn't gonna make me or the problem go away
I dont have tint but white colour does seem a bit yellowish specially in the bottom half part of the screen. I think it's the screen guard causing such view but tomo m going to sony centre and compare it with other phones and check if its ok or no...

Sounds very much like the yellow tint alot of users have complained about, with many pointing out a yellowish tint at the bottom of display.
Let me refer you to threads already made about the issue, no need to make a thread for every country when it's widespread and when there's already threads confirming it, and what to do about it.

TNT turned up at exactly the same time the wife popped up the local, I've been told I can pick it up from the depot at 9am tomorrow..
At least the depot is over the road from work I suppose..
Ordered at 8:58 as an afterthought because the Nexus 4 sold out even quicker (I'd always intended on getting the N10 as well, I know it's not exactly an alternative to the N4 lol) Went out late this morning but luckily there's always someone in at my house. Got home about 1ish and there it was.

Happy for you guys.:good:
Now if one of you will just look under display in the settings and tell us once and for all if there is an option there for "wireless display" please? The uncertainty of whether it was getting miracast or not has kept me from pushing the "buy it now " button.

Dear Forum members,
I know this is a very common problem/ question. But looking through the forum I was not able to sovle this problem myself.
So the problem is I have no reception neither in my flat nor at work. This makes my phone kind of useless.
I recently tried out several modems but could not achieve anything with that.
My gf has a I9100 as well with the same provider (O2, Germany). She has pretty good signal quality in our flat while my cell has none (even with exact same baseband phones next to each other).
So I can only guess that it is a hardware issue. What do you think?
Btw, outdoors of our building I have 100% signal H+ (I'm living kind of in the middle of Berlin).
Your help is very appreciated here. Cheers,
lennart

Seriously, this issue started when? It's just weird that you don't get any signal indoors, but your girl, with the same device as you, does.
If warranty isn't voided...I'd pay the store a visit.
Could there be a problem with the antenna? Would be worth the try to buy a new one?

Is your warranty voided? How long has it been since you got any signal at your place/work?
Did you change some part recently, like speaker/usb flex? Did you try to use the external antenna?
Don't even dream of messing with the antenna unless you're absolutely certain your warranty is no good (damage to the phone caused by normal use/misuse or warranty period expired).
If your warranty is good, use it.

Okay, full story: I bought the phone used 2 weeks ago from some guy. I tested it with him outside. Worked great Took it home and recognized that signal quality is bad. No warrenty at all. And I found that 1 of the 7 screws was missing. So I'm not the first who opened it I guess.
Maybe something was exchanged but I don't know. Think it would be of any good to exchange speaker/usb flex?
New ones are below 10€ so I could give it a try.
Thanks for your replies!

Sorry to hear, I cracked my Nexus 6 and sent it to Moto for warranty and when I got the replacement, wireless charging didn't work. I ended up keeping it and down the road, after cracking the screen I decided I'd try and call Moto & do it again but when I called they said the warranty had just ended and I would have to pay full price for their or another phone. If I could go it again I would have sent it right back. I had three of the Nexus 6's not including the warranty exchange. Nice phone & wish I still had.
**UPDATE** Got my 3rd 6P today, so far so good, fingerprint works, camera works, calling works. When I get home, I will unlock the bootloader, but other than that, I'm not sure if I want to root or not.

There was an article about how they will overtake apple on here. Good luck with that one, they wouldn't stay at the top long with their poor quality control and terrible customer service.
Wow, sorry to hear OP. I keep hearing terrible stories about their customer service.
Can any one confirm if they are seeing a bleeding effect at the bottom of the phone lcd panel. Overall the lcd panel of this phone is really bad. Comparing it to my OP2 and the illumination of the panel is too low. Anybody else with the same issues? I have put up a pic of the issue. Updated images of comparison with OP2 (In each pic POCO F1 is the at the top and OP2 at the bottom.)
Update 10/09/2018
First up my apologies for being away for the past 3-4 days. I have been trying to solve the issues with the phone and then over the weekend was caught up in some personal stuff. I thought of updating my original post rather than putting up a new one as this whole thing has come to a conclusion for me. So just a small recap, I bought the phone on 29th AUG in the first flash sale. Received the phone on 31st AUG as soon as I started the phone I found the bottom chin had a weird illumination. After a few days as the issue persisted checked online and found that the LCD panel suffered from light bleeding issues. I just headed here and created this thread and put in a request on Flipkart for a replacement. After that here is what followed.
04.09.2018 - Return requested
05.09.2018 - Got a call from Flipkart that a Technician will visit to check the device and same will be completed by 08.09.2018
07.09.2018 - Technician visited my place and checked the phone, he accepted that there was an issue however he mentioned that it is difficult to observe and explain the issue to his seniors. He however took a pic of the problem so I was hopeful that a replacement would be provided.Late evening I got a SMS that tech visit was completed, I checked the Flipkart app and it said Replaced Rejected. WTF!!!! There was Return option so selected that and the reason I selected was quality issues with product. Was surprised to see that refund request was accepted and someone would pick the package the next day.
08.09.2018 - Courier guy came to pick the package. Since I have kept the back stickers with the bar code and stuff I had just everything back as I had received it. The courier dude was acting smart and since I had already left for work he tried bullying my Mom saying the phone is not working asking what the issue was, me Mum just asked him to shut up check the package had everything and take it like he is supposed to. After checking everything and making sure all accessories are there the courier person took the package. I got a message that package was picked and refund initiated and credit will show up in my account in 3 business days.
10.09.2018 - Credit received :victory:
Regarding the Issue
First - This is not a fatal issue and as far as I know LCD bleeding does not increase with time however this is a hardware issue so if you are holding on thinking some software update is going to fix this, then sorry you are wrong.
Second - I don't agree with the "you get what you pay for" argument simply because everyone is paying the same amount of money but having different experience (We can see from pics posted by users that for some the problem is obvious and for some it is minimal and hardly noticeable)
Third - If you have this issue and it doesn't bother you then I would say go ahead and enjoy the phone. If you noticed this after checking this thread then I am sorry
Fourth - I would strongly recommend that people buy this phone taking Replacement/Refund policies of the merchant that is selling the phone into consideration. Guys that have purchased this from Mi website directly and want a replacement are having a tough time and am not sure if Mi website even has a refund policy. For Indian users get this from Flipkart and not Mi website, for other countries make sure Replacement/Refunds are provided in case you want to avail the same.
Final Thoughts -
I though the POCO F1 had great potential to take over from OnePlus as a budget flagship alternative however they messed up. If the POCO team had spent a little more time and may be resources on QA ,Software optimization (bugs in MIUI, bad implementation of curved corners, multi touch issues, etc) and may be a better name {POCO I mean seriously!!! } this phone would have been a serious contender.
Conclusion
I would like to thank everybody that participated in this thread and responded with pics for a comparison. Since I don't have the phone anymore I don't think it would be right for me to post here anymore. I just put a new battery in my OP2 so going to wait for some time and see what the Pixel's gonna be like or the OP6T maybe.
Looks fine to me on my POCO F1.

Yes will post an update. The person to check and pickup the phone will come on Saturday. Some guy on reddit mentioned that even the replacement has the same issue but I guess I have to give it a shot. :fingers-crossed:

Well that just sucks. When did you get the replacement? I raised a request on the 5th of Sept coz I felt maybe a diff lot may not have the issue. Its funny coz some units dont have this issue (like the one posted here). I guess its like 6 out of 10 are reporting this.

All the best for your refund mate hope they process it without hassels. The pblm with this issue is that some people just say it looks okay. Best way to reproduce is to open Chrome blank page and press and hold Power off button till the power off options come up and check the bottom if it shows a halo effect.
Let us know how the refund goes it should help others in making a decision. Curious thing is not a lot of people complaining about this like the boot loader issue.

From what I've seen people are using the navigation buttons and not full screen mode... because of that they are not able to notice it...
Will update here how the refund goes ?

I guess you are opening chrome in "Incognito" mode. The effect is visible on white backgrounds I guess if you just download a white image in full screen it should show up as well. Have no info on the service mode however some one having this issue posted on twitter regarding a display test you can do.

P.S. I went back to my old device so I havent tried the steps mentioned in the tweet.
could you please explain about the issue, i'm not understanding the problem... I mean I do see a bit white color in power options screen but I don't understand the issue with this.

A bit of inconsistent brightness levels are expected with LCD panels however with the POCO F1 quite a few people are facing LCD bleed that is very notice able. If the inconsistency is minimal and some thing you can live with then its alright. For me it has been bothering me from day one as soon as I switched the phone on. I mainly use my phone for watching videos and the effect sometimes is more pronounced and that bothers me hence I have asked for a replacement.
