Hey guys,
I just got my TF201-CG rooted and am running on Android 4.0.3 (9.4.2.11 firmware) and I was wondering if there's a way to get some compiling tools (gcc, make and etc.) installed on Android so I can compile software directly on my tablet.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
deltatux

Hi,
I have a Coby Kyros MID70104G.
It didn't come with android market (google play) and so I installed an apk of it. But it continually force closes. Youtube apk also doesn't work.
So I was thinking of rooting it to try and fix it ?
Could someone please provide me with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to root it,What I should do after it's rooted (ie. performance upgrades etc) and How I can install maybe diffrent versions of android / RESTORE it to factory default settings if I don't like it ?
It would be greatly appreciated as I am a noobie with this stuff !
Thanks

Hello,
can anyone suggest an android porting of GLIB? I need glib because I'm trying to build libqmi.
I need to build it inside a platform build (so, no need for a build using the NDK).
It seems that there are some portings out there, but I wonder which is the most used among xda developers...
This is probably a question that should be done in the development forums, but since I'm a noob I'm not able to open new topics there...
Regards,
Daniele

Hello,
I am new here, please forgive me, if this thread is in wrong section.

I have a few doubts before I get into Android Development. (both in making apps, developing custom roms) I just want to know the Android inside out.
Here are my doubts :
# Does custom ROMs help in getting more RAM, or what's the best advantages (other than they give root level access)
# Are there any free tutorials (preferably video tutorials) for developing custom roms and learn android development?
# I have Galaxy S 5302, if I root it or say upgrade it to Android 4.0 or to Jelly Bean, would it affect the performance? If yes, then how?
# Why do sometimes, device bricks on rooting?
EDIT : I have experience with C/C++ programming, and currently learning JAVA.
I just installed the ADT but it's not showing any option to start Android Application Development.

Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this question should be posted here, so I'm sorry in advance if I put this in the wrong section. So, I'm getting into hacking by learning Java, C, and assembly. I'm also learning everything I can about Linux and I'm reading the Android Hacker's handbook. I was wondering if anyone can give me advice/suggestions onto how I can port the latest Android build to devices that don't have Android 4.4.4? How would go about doing this?
