no, you can install differents kernels since you bootloader is unlocked, including, stock kernel. So if your bootloader is unlocked and you only flashed stock kernel nothing will happen, you need to do the process to lock it again.

[Q] I don't know what to believe.

I recently simunlocked my SK17a using Omnius so I went ahead to unlock the bootloader on my phone via the Sony Ericsson Official way and it ended up telling me that it's already unlocked, however, s1tool still gives me a capital R for the loader string and my phone still says "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: yes". I don't know weather to believe Android SDK or s1tool.
Try flashing a custom kernel in fastboot to test... if it works then you have successfully unlocked bootloader and kept DRM...

if you do it properly then there is no chance of bricking it.
flashing a kernel would not work if the bootloader is not unlocked...
I seem to not be able to find a .58 kernel.
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910 try this one it should work with stock rom.
I risked it by flashing CM7. My bootloader is unlocked!
well done!! you can be at ease anyways as there's almost no way you could brick your phone. anyway we are still here if you need any more help!!

Hardware or Software failure

Hello,
I am only user, so no detailed knowledge about Android. But I am able to read instruction, so I've flashed often ROMs and also Kernel without problems.
(BTW - nice forum - and thanks to all developers to give us the chance to modify mobile phone)
Last time after flashing CM7.22 + nAa-Kernel (I flashed without SIM inside) I had no GSM after inserting SIM-Card. All other functions works normally (in Stock-ROM only in flight mode - in normal mode it hangs).
After that I tried several things:
- PC Companion Repair - so flashing Stock ROM
- SEUS flashing Stock Rom
- Bootloader unlock
- Root again
- Other Kernel /ROMs
- Flashing Stock-ROM with bootloader
All time no GSM. Can I do anything else ? Can it be Software failure, or maybe random Hardware failure, happens just when I flashed....?
Has somebody an idea ? Or is it bricked ?
X10 MINI or MINI PRO?
Also, if your deviced was branded (I mean if it has some carrier's label on your phone or apps pre-installed) and supposing you unlock bootloader, the GSM gets disabled. When you flash stock, bootloader gets patched and you have GSM again, I think or you've lost it forever and you need to recover it with
Also please, post in the correct section, this is a Q/A thread.
A known quote from SpyderX
If the simlock certificate specified is SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE, or anything other than NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE, or if you are sure you sim-unlocked your phone using Omnius, jump to step 3.
If the simlock certificate specified is NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE, you can't unlock the bootloader of your phone. If you try, radio capability of your phone will be disabled (this has been reported to be untrue by a number of people who claim to have unlocked bootloader successfully with msm7227_semc.cmd).
Do note that the SIMLOCK certificate doesn't mean that you have/don't have a sim lock on your phone.

Note that radio capability is the GSM.

Bootloader does NOT get locked when you flash back to stock. You have to re-lock it manually whhen on stock. I cannot guide you through this as i have never done it

In fact, bootloader was never unlocked, it was backdoored patched, thus, when you flash stock the patch is replaced with stock "file" resulting a "bootloader lock".
Your argument is totally invalid. I had unlocked bootloader, flashed back to stock and bootloader was locked, I couldn't flash kernel. So I unlocked again.
I can confirm you are wrong, because I did many tests on bootloader locking/unlocking.
No offence,
Thank you.

I don't meant to prolong this out of place thread, but..
How do you unlock your bootloader ? When I unlock it using flashtool, I never got mine locked again, even after flashing back to stock rom / kernel using flashtool or SEUS as well... I can just flash another kernel after SEUS-ing it, without the need to unlocking it again. .
How can your phone locked itself again ?

I never used FlashTool for bootloader unlocking, always the old traditional way of patching bootlaoder with s1tools.
Unlocking with FlashTool might be the issue. I can't tell how to lock it again, I only know that this is due to FlashTool.

Hi,
at first so good news - phone works - very good feeling to write this !!!
I posted my problem in Q/A-section (sorry again for posting my question here first).
Roughly explained I got hints - so I flashed Stock-ROM again, then I relocked bootloader with S1tool, and suddenly phone works correctly.
I don't know what and when I did a failure with the result of GSM failure. But problem is solved. So thanks to all who has tried to help.

do you unlocked bootloader?

Do I have a locked or unlocked bootloader? (Neo V)

Sony Xperia Neo V
Stock ROM 4.0.4 (Updated 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 via OTA)
Rooted via DooMLoRD
CWM Recovery installed.
I need to find out if my Xperia Neo V have a locked or unlocked bootloader..?
I have read through different thread and have googled as well, but still was not able to get a concrete answer.
I have never unlocked it myself, not intentionally atleast.
When I check via *#*#7378423#*#*, it says 'Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes'. Some guys around XDA says if its unlocked, it will say ''Bootloader unlocked: Yes' but others say it will show the first one regardless of the lock state.
PC Companion and SUS can detect it just fine and I can repair and update my phone, which leads me to believe its locked.
But then, I can get into flash mode, use flash tool to load different ROMs and also have CWM installed - doesn't it need a unlocked bootloader?
And, if I am on a locked bootloader, what's the advantage of an unlocked one then, what am I missing?
Bootloader unlocked: Yes only means that your fastboot is unlocked, that your phone isn't SIM locked, not that your bootloader is unlocked.
Being able to enter flash mode, flash different rom's, cwm doesn't mean your BL is unlocked.
There are rom's that require custom kernel, if you wanna use those rom's you need to unlock your BL.
Advantage is anything that can be done with custom kernels, mainly overclock, undervolt, change some parameters...
Go to Neo V development section, in one sticky thread you can find s1tool. Get it and identify your phone with it.
Just a fact that you didn't unlock it tells that it's locked. All Xperia phones have locked BL's. All 2011 Xperias with sim lock, have locked fastboot, which means you need to pay to unlock it and by that you enable fastboot and unlock your BL.
Thanks buddy (button pressed). So, unlocked bootloader means warranty gone forever, right? Irreversible?

Well, if you use official method, even if you relock it they can see in service center, when they connect it, it will show that DRM certificate is missing. I'm not saying they will look for that, but it will be visible.
In my opinion patched bl is best option, with s1tool. Also you can relock it. As far as I know nothing will pop up on their PC.
Alright buddy, got the idea. Thanks a lot.

no way of keeping the phone rooted and locking the bootloader?

After flashing this file 'Xperia_U_ST25i_Relock_Bootloader.ftf' to my Xperia_U, the phone won't boot again
I had to flash again with 'ST25i_6.0.B.3.184_O2-CZ.ftf' in order to get the phone working gain
This also made me lose Root, so I had to reflash again with 'Xperia_U_ST25i-ROOT-ROM.img'
(and unlocking again with fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xkey)
so, it seems there's no way of keeping the phone rooted and locking the bootloader
(I want to lock the bootloader locked in order to get updated to 184 though PC-Companion)

Too keep your phone rooted you need to keep its bootloader unlocked and if you try locking it again you might brick it!!
So if you want to keep your root and bootloader locked then here's what you should do
1)Unlock bootloader
2)Flash a custom kernel which roots your phone
3)Flash with stock rom
Note : if still not rooted then untick the option in flastool to skip flashing kernel when flashing with stock rom!!
Pls correct me if m wrong!!

Thanks, so now I need confirmation from an Xperia_U owner..
Anyone flashed Xperia_U_ST25i_Relock_Bootloader.ftf' and the phone kept working?
.
What I want to keep is:
---------------------------------
Kernel: Xperia_SSpeed_kernel_v6.1.zip
ROM: KA03_Xperia_SSpeed.zip
Then, lock bootloader again, withOUT losing ROOT
and then update to 1.84 (via Companion)

You cannot update via pcc even with Locked BL if you have custom rom or kernel.

[Q] HELP! Sim Card not being detected by phone.

My sim card is not detected even though I flashed back to stock rom. I accidently locked the bootloader in Feralab kernel. Now I am on the stock rom but it keeps saying to restart my phone and place my sim but its already in there... I unlocked it with setool2. Should I try unlocking it with semc tool and relocking it? Using X10a
EDIT: Problem Solved. Flashed back to stock and unlocked it again and it worked.
Bump because I need to fix my phone ASAP so I can use it. BTW I also unlocked with semc and relocked it because it didn't work. Using stock 2.3.3 rooted.
