My sim card is not detected even though I flashed back to stock rom. I accidently locked the bootloader in Feralab kernel. Now I am on the stock rom but it keeps saying to restart my phone and place my sim but its already in there... I unlocked it with setool2. Should I try unlocking it with semc tool and relocking it? Using X10a
EDIT: Problem Solved. Flashed back to stock and unlocked it again and it worked.
Bump because I need to fix my phone ASAP so I can use it. BTW I also unlocked with semc and relocked it because it didn't work. Using stock 2.3.3 rooted.

no, you can install differents kernels since you bootloader is unlocked, including, stock kernel. So if your bootloader is unlocked and you only flashed stock kernel nothing will happen, you need to do the process to lock it again.
Hey guys.
Yes, another idiot who unlocked the bootloader incorrectly and is stuck with an X10 that displays no signal/insert sim.
Story: X10i running on stock 2.3 which was sim unlocked a while back using multi-unlock client. I followed method described in this forum to unlock the bootloader, followed by flashing latest MUIU M&M kernel & rom.
Attempted resuscitation: I've attempted relocking the bootloader using s1tool, repairing phone using PC Companion, flashing a stock generic 2.3 firmware.
Unfortunately the network I am on is incredibly slow, so everything I seem to try takes an age. There is also a problem with flash utilities on this network so I'm not even able to run SEUS.
Update: I've noticed that no matter what I do, the kernel will remain as: "2.6.29 [email protected] #1". I've also tried updating with ZKernel but it still remains as above.
What do you guys think? Any advice and help will be truly appreciated!
hello,
I have a big problem, I conducted a desimlockage via Wotan and later my unlocked bootloader.
This morning my brother has done an OTA update on .58
My phone is bricked it, so I tried to relock the BL, to restart the phone but no sim is now recognized and the BL is pressed into NO.
Thank you help me please.
i think unlock Bl and OTA update will 100% crash your phone and if you relock the BT without stock Rom will crash it to.
Simple to solve: try a different sim card. For some reason, .58 firmware and above doesn't have the drivers for some kinds of sim cards. I know it may sound weird, but it happened with me too and my mobile carrier gave me a different sim card and now everthing is working again.
If you can't get another sim card, you have to downgrade it to 2.3.3 firmware, so you can use oficial rom along your actual sim card again. I never tested custom roms within our devices, so I can't say if your sim card would or would not work with them.
I hope that helped.

Ok. I have searched for hours and hours with no result. I have a Sony Ericsson X10a ATT labeled phone. i got it booting to the Xperia logo and no further. I was able to get the global generic x10i rom flashed to it so it would at least boot into android. it does not have a signal and says the sim will not work with att network. what ive done:
Flashed Global generic x10i 2.1a rom with flashtool 0.8 (the only stock firmware link that works)
Rooted with flashtool
s1tool reports NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE
Ive tried to force SPCC to flash stock rom
Update service says its up to date
I can get it into flashmode no problem, it does boot normally into android, i can get into recovery with cwm5
it has no signal as of now.
Flashtool reports it as rooted.
I need to get this thing at least back to stock and working with a north american at&t sim card. if i can get a custom rom, great, if not ill deal with stock. if its SOL, its going thru the chipper
my hat is off to developers and programmers but I can do without the "you should of done this or that." i really appreciate any help. i just need to get it working thanks in advance

1) can you post your baseband and firmware you are using right now??
2) try relocking bootloader using flashtool and see if you get your signal back

I guess you are on 2.1 firmware. So the baseband is right.
The only option is relocking bootloader via flashtool.

the problem isnt the stock firmware.
I the problem is you tried to unlock bootloader for a sim locked phone and because of that it has messed up.
AS you have got NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE in s1tool you shouldnt have tried to unlock bootloader,
I am sorry I have no other ideas for it.
I advise to contact in this thread.

No problem.
If you have NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE in s1tool then you shouldnt unlock bootloader. If u do so you lose your signal which cannot be recovered by usual flashing methods like going to stock.
Hi guys !
I think i have a problem with my xperia ray I`ve tried to flash a custom rom, but during that process there was an error and bricked my phone. I managed to bring it back to life, flashed stock 4.0.4 rom, but now i get "please insert SIM card and restart your phone"
The funny thing is that before i bricked it the bootloader unlock allowed was YES, and now it switched to NO.
Can someone help me ? Is there anything i can do ?

You must have flashed a carriers specific firmware for ray. Get this generic one and try - http://www.mediafire.com/?pp48w8v9z1adg59
And could you please tell us what the error was and how exactly you "bricked" it? Also, try going into fastboot mode and see if you can still flash a custom kernel.
Thank you for your answer ! bricking it was very easy ... I tried to flash CM 10, wipe - factory reset / cache, and during the new rom install it was an “Status 7″ Error in ClockworkMod Recovery. After this I used s1tool to bring it back to life and flashed a new rom, which I though was the right one (ST18i_4.1.B.0.587_CE_1252-3693). I`ll try to flash the rom you pointed and see what happens.
Nope, that rom didn`t helped, still the same problem.
The phone was bough form vodafone spain, had a vodafone custom rom, no SIM LOCK and bootloader unlock allowed : YES, but after i did that mess, and install a new rom i get bootloader unlock allowed: NO and "please insert SIM card and restart your phone", no mater if there is a SIM CARD inserted or not ...

Why did you use s1tool to "bring back to life"? Maybe you (re)locked your bootloader? What exactly did you with s1tool to bring your phone back to life?
Btw: The status7 error caused by updater-sricpt in cm10 rom zip.
If you searched this Q thread (or cm10 thread) there is a solution for that. (copy the updater-script from CM rom zip edit with notepat++ and delete first lines till mount. Copy back, overwrite old updater-script and the cm10 flash don't shows "status7 error")

now your phone is on locked bootloader and sim locked too?
It says: bootloader unlock allowed: no?
Before you unlocked it was simfree? You wrote, that the phone is voda/Spain you have voda simcard?
Have you tried other ftf? (not for Centar Europe - CE)
Edit:
- Have you cheched your baseband? see post
Yes the phone was both locked on bootloader (bootloader unlocked alowed: NO ) and SIM LOCK ( not sure about this, since i don`t have the Voda/Spain sim anymore, but all the other ones where useless)
Anyway, i took the easy way and used WotanServer to solve my problem. Now the bootloared changed back to "bootloader unlocked alowed: YES" and i can use any SIM card.
I think my mistake was using s1tool after the Status 7 Error in ClockworkMod Recovery. I guess s1tool changed my bootloader status... if i had used just flashtool and do just a stock rom flash... But we learn as long as we live :silly:
Thank you all for you`re answers !
