Hi there,
Because i ve seen the ipad2 from a friend i ve got a question because i dont like appleĀ“s i really want android based phones/tablets.
He showed me after Facebook APP starting he could choose his profile or the girlfriends one and could set up many more profiles. he simply has to fill in his password for his account and he is logged in. This is a nice feature i really want to have for the galaxy tab.
because non of my close friends have one i ve to ask you here if you could set up a 2nd profile for FB or for the whole tab ?!?
couldnt find the answer anywere and yes i tried googling
thanks for your help
Get FriendCaster in the App market, better than the facebook app and you can have multiple profile associated to it.
FriendCaster
you can try facedroid
Or try out SwitchMe. It will allow you to create multiple profiles that you can boot in to. It requires a reboot to get into the profile, but it allows each profile to have their own apps and settings. I'm currently using it to provide a profile just for my kids so that I can only install the apps that they want, but yet lock everything else down for them.

So, I've used like every twitter app out there, went back to them all many times, and I'm still in love with Plume. The problem is, it doesn't support other networks using a custom api url. So, I've been forced to use ubersocial to solve this issue.
I use proxlet to block out some of my twitter users that I don't want to see all the time, as well as specific apps, so I really need proxlet, or at least a way to block those same people/apps on plume. Now, I know plume comes with a management tool to do this, but the problem is, it would be an extreme pain in the butt to manually add one person at a time into plume, as I have many listed in my proxlet ignore list.
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a way to mass import blocked contacts into Plume. I know it has the import/export feature, but it has to be in the plume format already. Just curious to know if anyone could tell me an easy way to do this, just to keep them both synced up pretty well. Thanks!
I've been on Android about 6 months now. First I had a Galaxy Note & now I have a Galaxy Note 2. In that time I've tried around 30 email clients (some free & some paid versions) but I've still not some across a client that can offer me some (what I consider) very simple features.
What I'd like the client to do is:
1. Be able to resize within the email view so I can see the whole email (or at least the width of it if the mail is longer than one page length). This is such a simple thing but the only one I've found that does this is the official Hotmail client but that brings with it a whole load of other issues... Even the Gmail client doesn't let you do this & you're forced to scroll around the screen trying to put together a virtual jigsaw puzzle in your head of what the whole email should look like.
2. Be able to set an option in the settings to always allow images. Again a simple feature. Something similar to the Gmail app would also be OK where you set it for each sender separately.
3. Always display as HTML.
4. Push notifications that display the message title/sender in the notification.
Hopefully someone knows of such a client but I haven't found one yet.
Thanks for your help people.

Have you tried Enhanced Email? It does all these things that you're looking for.

Thanks. I downloaded Enhanced Email from the play store. It does most of the stuff but doesn't let you know the source or title of the incoming mail. Just tells you that you have new mail.
Also having some problems with formatting emails in mobile view.
It's probably the best I've tried though.
You probably won't find an email client that tells you the sender and title because usually people receive multiple emails at a time from various senders.
And try K 9 mail

Having used enhanced email for a few days I can say that it's definitely not up to use full time. When ever I reboot my phone it deletes my Hotmail account, it doesn't notify properly, has no push for Gmail, can't format html into mobile view effectively & has a poor gui. Very expensive for why it does.
I have tried K9 before & unless it's been updated recently there isn't an option to resize an email so that the while mail is displayed at once is there?

What do you mean resize your email? You can pinch to zoom in it though, I used it a week or so ago

Yes, you can pinch to zoom but I'd like to display the whole email on screen at once & then decide which part of the email I'd like to zoom into (if any). K9 & most other Android clients don't allow this. The only app that I've found that can do this at all is the official Hotmail app but the rest of the app is so basic its shocking. It doesn't allow you to always show images & on my current phone its a 3 click process to show images (in every mail you view). It also truncates all mails to a maximum of 100kb do anything over this takes a further 3 clicks to display properly. Very poor.
Try Aquamail. I absolutely love it, and it has all these features. Their mobile view is the main reason I use it. Make sure you pick up the latest beta version 4 here: www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=217
The mobile view used to be incorporated into the appstore version. The developer took it out temporarily, and it is only in the latest beta.
Hi guys,
I want to know if there is a app that can do the following things...
1) get my contacts from all my accounts ( google, fb , etc) and they should only be the ones whose number i have...
2) merge there conatcs together on its own ( from diff accounts to one single contact with all the info lying inside that one contact)
3) also let me manually fix them which the app missed
4) and save these links in the cloud or the whole address book ( so i dont have to sit and do this operation everytime i root my phone or factory reset it)
5) and all these should be integerated in to my default people app..
i tried contacts+ and i really liked it but the UI dint impress me and also felt laggy at tiems.. i want all thison my default people app..
is there some app that lets me do this?
i was also suggested to try a backup app(am not sure if that works) but even if it does work, i just wanted to know if there is some dedicated contact app that can do it all and maintain it as well ..??
Hi,
a friend of mine bought a few days ago a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" to manage his clients (he's a doctor).
He started to build his contact library (he doesn't have an android phone and no gmail contacts) adding name, surname, eventually mail and phone number and in the "Note" field he wrote all the note he'd taken. BUT this field has a characters' limit, and he can't add even a letter anymore (for the most visited client of course).
I tried to search for an app for this purpose but I can't find anything. I don't even search ONLY an app, it can be enough another method using the in-build feature of the tablet and android.
I searched for some CRM app, but most of them are ugly (since it's not a power user the more simple and clean is the better) and not optimized for a tablet. I found Insightly, but it's only online, and if he does'nt have a wifi network around he can't, not only record the new data, but also access to the old ones! They MUST be always available.
I thought about a simple folder + text file in G Drive, but these are only online too. Dropbox, too.
If it can interact with the G Mail contacts (the Note field is very useful at this) it would be wonderful, otherwise he'll build up his library with his contacts.
How can I do to have these data always on the tablet (cloud sync is not absolutely necessary)??? Any idea for an app or an alternative method?
Thanks!
nobody??
He bought a tablet to use for work, without any idea on how he would use it for work or if it would even do what he wanted? If he throws money around like that, why not recommend him to get an app written for his company and it's needs. There are many app developers who design and write custom apps for clients.
Hi, i am back on Android after 4 years of iOS Experience.
And i wonder why there is still no Root or CustomROM Project that bring real App Sharing on one Device for similar Users?
Example: Tablet used by Wife and Childrens - and anyone has to purchase a App on his own PlayStore Account. Serious? Wife and Husband both using Android Devices - and anyone has to purchase a App for his own?
The Workaround to enter a second Account and uncheck all Syncs without PlayStore is not a good Solution under privacy aspects.
Is there really no Way to hint or anything to make it Impossible to activate MailSync, Contacts and Photos from the Account that is only entered to install and update Apps?
On iOS > 7.x you can enter a seperate AppStore Account in AppStore Options.
On iOS > 8.x you can really choose who can use your Apps up to 5 Family Members.
And if there is no Softwaresolution how do you manages thos in YOUR Case? To create a only App-Account is no Option for me because i allready own dozen of payeds Apps.
A simple and perfect Solution for me is like add my Account to any Device without having the Option to sync anything else from my Account. Is there really no Dev that has fun to create something like that? I guess thousand of users are having the same wish.
