Can't boot in to Recovery - Motorola Droid X2

Hi guys,
I recently had the latest liberty rom on my DX2 and had trouble getting in to BSR... It would not reboot in to it... It would just seem to "turn off the phone" black screen with no response, I would have to pull the battery to reboot. So I SBF'd it back to 2.3.4... it worked out.. rooted it.. reinstalled BSR and it still won't let me get in to BSR... Doing the same thing... any recommendations? I'm trying to put the latest version of CM7 on here...
Thanks!!

All i can think of right now is your plugged into an outlet when u try to boot into bsr right? I always reinstall bsr from the app before i click boot into recovery also, just incase something happened....

Try using the app and hot the top button"install recovery" when it says ok tap ok. The. Shut off the phone. Plug in your phone to a wall charger or car charger. Let it sit a few when the screen turns on. If you have the dx2 bsr installed it will boot into it. If your using the wrong recovery such as safestrap then it wont. You ha e to use a wall charger the usbon a comp will not work

I'm currently using the BSR on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442803 which says I don't need a wall charger to boot... Any other ideas? It seems to just go blank after I install the recovery : It says install successful then hit recovery mode.. :x

You still have to be plugged into a wall outlet regardless of what it says. Its been discussed already. I'm running the same bsr and it still requires you be plugged in. USB to computer does not work as far as I know.

Also, that BSR is for use within CM7 only, I believe. It won't work in a non-CM7 ROM from what I know of. I remember trying to use it in stock and it wouldn't work. I had to use the original non-CM7 BSR first. Once you are in CM7, then you must installed the patched BSR because the non-CM7 BSR will not work under CM7.
But, as jcb stated, you STILL have to be plugged into the wall regardless of what the message states.

Roger that. I will give that a shot. Thanks for all the help guys!!

i was having the same trouble... realized that the old bsr had to be used until the update was completed to CM7.

Plugged it in, Started Odin but nothing happened
hm.....do you have the drivers installed correctly?
Yea
Im fairly sure I do
I had been using the storage and everything on it, transferring music, roms and whatnot
no you need certain drivers for odin they are right herehttp://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/
I had the same exact problem yesterday when flashing simply honey 3.5 yesterday through odin. I believe you can still enter download mode just make sure you are pressing the VOLUME UP button only and not both at the same time. If that doesnt work remove your battery, sim card and sd card, and try it again odin will recognize it eventually. Try different usb ports on your pc too that seems to work for me. If odin doesnt work well you might not have the drivers installed.

CM7 boot animation keeps looping

I have unlocked bootloader successfully. I then used the new version of Rom Manager to flash CWM. Everything seemed good. I rebooted into Recover from Rom Manager (I can't figure out how to boot into it from startup). I then did a back up of my current image. Then i installed prebeta4.zip. Everything seemed to go great. I then wiped the cache and rebooted. The CM7 boot animation started up great, but then my screen went black and the boot animation ran again. THis is happening over and over. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I would love to run CM7, but at this point i would like a phone that starts up as well Any suggestion you all got, please let me know. Thanks guys!
wipe data and reflash
how do i do that. I can't seem to figure out how to boot into recovery?

Power on your phone while holding the volume down button till it says fastboot, then scroll down using the volume down button till you see android recovery and select with volume up.
You can only scroll down so if you pass it, loop back around.

Two posts for this?
pull battery on the phone, put back in power on holding down volume
wipe data and cache and also dalvik cache, reflash and then wipe them one more time for good measures lol

Boot Loop :x

Any way I can get it to boot without wiping? The problem occurred when I accidently did the 3 key method to get into cwm... forgetting you're not supposed to.. and then flashed glitch's new kernel.
Plug into computer, turn on, open command prompt, type adb shell, type reboot recovery. Next flash the kernel in the proper recovery.
good day.

I don't know what to do. I've tried flashing cwm via odin again.. tried wiping... tried reinstalling kernel / rom. nothing but a bootloop everytime now.
There have been some problems with the Glitch Kernel and the newest Cyanogen nightlies causing it to Bootloop. The Glitch developer is aware and working on it. I had to revert back to stock and start over. For now im staying at CM7 nightly 35 and using Glitch.

Had to atlas pit and repartition, then back to build 35 was the only way I could get rid of the boot loop when trying to go to the newest nightly build.

to fix the adb problem I had to install the drivers.. which I DID but the instructions on the wiki were wrong... so it took awhile to find where they got installed to. I finally got the newest cwm + glitch v12 kernel to work though. Took all day!!!
I had to same problem, just had to restore the CWM backup

I rooted phone successfully but didn't want to unlock bootloader because I wanted to keep my 4G... I was ignorant to the fact that you can't flash Cyanogenmod with locked bootloader and tried flashing with bookstrap apk. Phone stuck in
"Failed To Boot 2"
if someone can help me get this fixed I'd be willing to donate to your developing.
any questions just pm me.
Im assuming you've tried a different SBF and still wont flash? If not i'd start there.. Also do a factory data reset before flashing with sbf, if not you may get bootloops. Can you type out exactly what it says under "staus"? Your ss cuts off
If your battery is too low, the flash will fail in rsd lite. Also your battery can't charge in rsd mode. You need to charge the battery with another phone, wall charger or cut a charger and put the black and red wire on the correct + and - points where your battery is.
Anybody notice the phone is showing it's in fastboot mode?
Thanks everyone for trying to help, Sprint replaced my phone though

this happened after my photon froze during a OTA it stayed in the same screen for a few hours so I did a battery pull and I keep getting "Failed to boot 1"
I have my phone it this exact same situation. My battery is dead at the moment but I made a factory cable not sure if that's a suitable replacement for fully charged battery. Anyways whenever I plug in the factory cable it says "Fast Support Protocol" but if I press the volume+ rocker it does not do anything, it just stays there. If I hold the volume it simply blinks and turns off.
Is there any known solution for this? I already ordered a wall charger but would love to get it working before that gets here.
thnx all

[Q] What to do now?

I've been doing lots of research on here, and am still unclear what my steps to fix my bosses Atrix 4G should be....
He was attempting to root it and put an ICS ROM on it and 'soft bricked' it based on what I have read here. What I am unclear on is what he has done so far, and what steps I should take next. This was done a couple months ago by him so he cannot find the info he was using when this happened.
At this point I do not know if the bootloader is unlocked or not, or what steps to take. Here is the screenshot of the boot menu:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I know I need to get the battery charged, as it isn't charging now in it's current state.
Any help/guidance is appreciated.
Boot into fastboot mode and do the fastboot oem unlock command.

Hi, i have that problem once, and my solution was to download a fruit cake, download the motorola rsd lite, installed the drivers, start the rsd protocol in the phone and flash, like I tell you, it worked for me... since you can't charge the battery on the phone, should use and external charger and with that you can proceed.
Best Regards

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I managed to get the bootloader unlocked using a script I found on here and it appears to be booting to the stock ROM. Can't tell because it's my bosses phone and I need to put his SIM in it to go any farther.
Should I be putting CWM or something on here instead of just using the boot menu options at power-up?
Now, I just need to find a good ICS Rom to put on here that still allows the fingerprint reader to work... any suggestions?

you'll need CWM to flash a custom ROM. the only ICS ROMs that have working fingerprint scanner would be the leaked ones, but they also have a lot of problems for most people. i would personally suggest using Epinter's CM10, it's 90% functional (no stock video recording, or fingerprint scanner, and loss of webtop)
Darn... was hoping there was a good CM9 or CM10 ROM that worked good and had the fingerprint reader working. Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye on the Epinter's CM10 like you suggested... hopefully they will get it working sooner rather than later.
