Bought one of these cases recently and I'm very happy with it.
Before you start shouting that you can't use it as a stand, I know that.
I was just looking for a slim carry protective case and this met the requirements exactly (it's only for the TF, not the dock).
The only complaint I'd have is that its a bit pricey...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069WV5ES/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details
$45 bloody dollars.
Whats the point of the zipper if its open on the top anyways? (from what it looks like in the pictures)
It's to make it easier putting in and removing the transformer. If it didn't have the zip then it would be very difficult as it's a tight fit...
the zipper doesnt scratch the tablet?
No, there's a strip of material underneath the zipper on each side...

Has anyone found a leather flip case for the Pure?
The only ones I've seen that even come near are over $50
which to me is just too damm much for a case
Heres my take on it
Many complain the Pures a "fingerprint magnet"
OK Maybe so but I can't really see putting the clear "helicopter rotor"
body armour shell, because the don't protect against inpact damadge only scratch damage.
A flip type case that is not removed (I don't want a pouch type)
is one hand to open and you don't need to put the case somewhere while using it.
It will protect both the body and screen against impact and scratching
Leather is reasonably smooth so it wont snag going in and out of my pocket
(like the silicon ones can) Its a little thinner than the silicon and hard rubber ones too. I think same or more durable than Silicone.
Taking it a step further I am normally not a big fan of the belt clip
prefer the pocket but have been thinking about a modular mounting system
where I cold move the clip directly to a car kit or desktop kit for charging
Using the locking swivel clips would allow for landscape or regular viewing
And since the clip is the mounting point not an indentation or cup,
you would keep the case on even in the mount. the cover would just be flipped opened to the top or side when in use.
Now I don't claim to have created the idea I've seen a nice one
for the Diamond2 and a few extra swivel clips could adapt most
any car and desk cradle or mounts.
I've attached one one Ebay thats for the Diamond looks pretty good
But I've bought too many cases for Diamond where the clip just won't stay attached to the Pure.
The mfr of this case recommend I wait a few weeks the Pure Case is
coming in then. Like to hear pro's and cons from anyone who has a similar
flip style case. Also like to hear pro's & cons on which side the flip cover is on
Side top or bottom? Ideally you could use the camera while in the case
without the flip cover obscuring the lens folding arrangement or maybe a
hole in front and back covers so you could fold front over rear cover?
Also possibly cover fastens in half open position so a quick desktop easel.
Any thoughts?? what am I missing (aside for individual preference)
I've obviously got too much time on my hands <BG> and there are
not enough actual cases for the Pure that are available for purchase .
I Love the Pure/Topaz
(running Duttys HGR1 Rom)
New to phones
Old to PCs and PPC (Ipaqs for years) and embedded micros
KJL
Heres the one for the diamond2 I was looking at
Item number: 200403300227
I like the mounting (leather straps not a clip)
But I think one with a side flip/ book style makes using the camera easiest
Just received this case,
http://www.caselogic.com/10_2_ipad_...l/index.cfm?modelid=154701&productid=10030361
Fits perfectly, the inside opening is a little thick, made for a 1.5" netbook but I added a couple layers of foam and the G Tab fits like a glove. Just about the perfect case and it's on sale.
It looks like a lunch bag.
I picked this up for my Acer 1. While I am waiting for my Malata M1 to arrive I have used it for my G-tablet and it is surprisingly perfect. It holds my tablet, charger, cleaning cloth and stylus very comfortably. Plus, it has a very professional look and feel.
Targus CityGear NetBook Case
After messing with a couple of bags, I ended up buying this one. It fits the gTab perfectly in the padded sleeve even with it inside of my sweet CaseCrown case and has room for my little Gear Head keyboard with multi-touch touchpad as well as the dock, and my foldable Arkon stand, the spare power adapter, and other odds and ends in the little compartments it has. It's fairly cheap too. My only negative on this bag is that the shoulder strap is not removeable.
The Encase neoprene sleeve for 10" netbooks really fits my GTab like a glove. It is kind of snug lengthwise and there is maybe 0.5" of extra space widthwise, but it comes very close to fitting the dimensions of the GTab. Unlike a lot of neoprene sleeves made for iPads or netbooks, this sleeve is more "rectangular" shaped instead of being more "square", which is good because the GTab is more rectangular than an iPad. Here a link to Amazon, but these are also on eBay.
http://www.amazon.com/Encase-Envelope-Black-Neoprene-10-0/dp/B002QWPMSK
I like that this one fits exactly L x W with no movement, it's thicker and leaves room for adding a little more padding or slipping in a slimline keyboard, there's also a zippered pocket that will hold the power adapter and stand without a problem.
The strap isn't detachable but can be used from the top, side or un-fasten a couple of Velcro straps and it becomes a shoulder strap.
The case is more rigid than the neoprene ones I found at OD, more along the lines of a laptop case.
Also couldn't pass up the price

That is a nice case. I may pick one up at that price for times when I'm going somewhere with just the GTab. I like the neoprene Encase sleeve I posted above for times when I'm putting the GTab into my bag and want just a little extra protection to prevent scratching my GTab.
I have been looking for some decent book like cover/folio cases (preferrably thin and minimalistic) and the ones on the BN store are quick pricey but fit the bill. Anyone tried these and confirm their quality?

Pricey as well. Would like the b&n covers with the snap on holder instead of the flap holder. Anybody find one at a discount?
I have the "Leather writer's cover" from B&N for my NT. It's really nice. The thing I like about the official covers are that the mounts are solid and non-intrusive. I can carry it around like a book. It looks (& feels) as nice in person as it does in the B&N photos.
The third party covers don't have those solid mounts, they have either cheap straps for the corners or have leather that cover all of the bezels.
Btw, I had a "Canvas writer's cover" before, for my Nook color. It wasn't bad, didn't feel as good as the leather, and was slightly heavier. Kinda felt like rubber coated canvas, whereas the leather cover just feels like normal leather.
Currently imlooking for something like the lautner case on BN. With the magnetic clasp
Speck Fitfolio case
i just bought this from Target for 29.99 for my nook tablet. I love it! Speck Fitfolio in black sweet!

Couldn't find it on target but found it on amazon. Looks good.
http://www.amazon.com/Speck-Product...TF8&coliid=I3KMK3WORPWROT&colid=220ODX6L6ZJNO
Cheaper too. $19.50.
Actually oldsv6, can you tell me if the speaker is blocked or if there is like a gap so the sound isn't muffled. Also how tight is the grip of the case? I want put a skin over my nook and hopefully it will still fit in the case. Thanks.
It was not on Targets website but store by me had all three colors. This is no opening for the speakers, however, there is a space near the usb and it acts like a port for sound. The sound level is only stlighly decreased if any.
I think I will have to go with one of the BN official cases sigh.
im torn between the Brunel : http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/brunel-cover-in-iron/20831286?ean=9781616837327
and the Lautner: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/lautner-book-cover-night/19952457?ean=9781616865146
Since I hate twilight, I am leaning towards the brunel (lol not really) but Lautner is a bit cheaper. Maybe I should wait until there is a sale on cases
YMMV, but Best Buy in store is selling a Black M-Edge Go! Jacket model for $15 on clearance . I picked up one today. A couple of caveats though...
First, there is no hole in the back so the speakers are covered. If you are using the headphones that's not much of a problem since all other ports are available.
Second the fit is VERY tight, so getting the unit in and out easily is a problem. Once in it's super nice and snug, but I tend to like to remove the tablets from their cases when using most of the time. I am actually going to perform surgery on my case and remove the part along the top so I can slide my tablet in and out easily. The rubber back on the tablet and velvety insides should hold everything in fine by friction. At the price I think it's not a bad gamble to modify it...

I tried two M-Edge cases for Nook Color/Tablet, but they both covered the speaker, so the audio was muffled. They also covered the mic hole at the top edge, so if you want to use the mic, you have to take the device out of the case. However I do like their constructs - compact, slim and solid.

AARRGUS, please post it when you find out how to drill/punch holes on the back cover to allow the audio come out. I like the case but it covers the speaker and the mic (at the top).
So I just received the Lautner case and Ill give it a quick review
the faux leather isnt as nice as i was expecting for a 35 dollar cover, but its clean, the clips are sturdy and the magnet is nice.
B
found one on ebay that acts as a stand for portrait mode, pretty cheap around 10 dollars or so.
its called Premium PU leather Stand case Pouch Cover For Nook Tablet E-reader, sold by everydaysource, can i get some feedback on this product from you guys? thanks!
I purchased the Brunel cover in Iron from BN (I can't post links as of yet).
I like it a lot. The clips are very sturdy and the magnet keeps it closed. It can be propped up for viewing in landscape mode. The pocket on the inside of the cover flap is also handy. You do need to take it out of the cover in order to access the sd card. Audio sounds fine/clear while in the cover.
I haven't scuffed the leather yet, it's been tossed in and out of my purse for the past few days (got the NookTab this past Tuesday).

I'd maybe consider this, but I wonder if I'd want something that could prop up in portrait too.

I also picked up the Leather writer's cover. It looks and feels great and has a nice pocket on the inside cover to slip a thin Moleskine journal style notebook into. I picked up the notebooks in a 3 pack with a thick paper cover and they slip in with a bit of trimming to one cover. I can't remember exactly what their called but you'll see them if you go into a BN store and check out the Moleskine rack. It's good for doodling or taking down notes.
I had the canvas cover before this and when I used it at a coffee shop, it picked up the cookie grease/oil from the table top and stained permanently. The leather option is much better.
slim case
I need a real slim case. One of the things I love about the Book is how I can slip into a pants pocket. The bulky cases at BN make this impossible. Anybody find a slim case with front flap?
I got the Tasume cover from B&N...its rather pricey at $50, but it's nice. It tri-folds over the screen for good protection, and the flaps fold origami-syle to prop the tablet up in either portrait or landscape.

Perhaps look into the Speck Fit-Folio
https://www.speckproducts.com/fitfolio-for-nook-tablet.html
for those of you looking for a good sleeve, waterfield makes a "sleevecase" that is a pretty perfect fit:
http://sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.php
i emailed with their sales guys and we concluded that size 20-14 is the best fit they have. i can confirm it is a good snug fit when the TF201 is docked. if you only put the tablet in then of course it is a bit looser.
imo this is a great solution for carrying around the TF201+dock in a bag/backpack/etc like you would a laptop. easy to get the tablet in/out of the bag without having to remove the sleeve itself. the padding is thick and provides good protection. total price for the basic sleeve (no flap or strap) was $45 shipped, which is in the vicinity of other high-quality cases.
note, if you want a sleeve just for the tablet then you should probably look at their "tablet ultimate sleevecase" instead. those sleeves have stiff plastic sewn into one side to help protect the screen, along with a lining to help clean the screen, so they are a bit more expensive. i'm not sure what the best size is, if you email them they generally respond same day.

here ya go, dood
http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.php
This case looks amazing! I have been looking for something like this since getting my prime, and despairing that I can only find sleeves. Question: Would you recommend the horizontal or vertical orientation?
Many thanks!
Edit - I found a pretty nifty case at Staples by SwissGear that's pretty much the same as the case by Waterfield, only less fancy and cheaper
Will this Amazon Basics Case fit the bill?

Waterfield makes quality products.
A cautionary tale for those who have or are looking at the Tetded/TETDED slim leather case on eBay or elsewhere. I have had this case for about a month and it has been great - snug, nice leather and best of all a nice slim fit, similar to the Apple leather case for the iPhone. Today I took the case off to kind of just take a look at the phone and wipe away any schmutz and much to my chagrin, noticed some wear marks on the glass (top of the phone). While faint and kind of hard to notice due to the glass being shiny, it has wear marks nonetheless. I sent a message to the seller on eBay who asked for pictures of the wear, which will be tricky to take, like I said, because they are both faint and the glass is shiny.
I like the case a lot and would easily recommend it to someone looking for this style of case, but after noticing this...I don't think a case should leave marks on your phone.
I have a full skin on my pixel. Front and back. Do you think there is enough give in the case to fit over a skin?

It would be pretty damn tight.
Could you shield the glass with some carefully-cut-out plastic kitchen wrap before putting it in the case? (There's probably a better kind of plastic film to use, but that's the first one that came to mind.)

Thanks for the warning. I've been eyeing this case. Guess I should stop.
I had an orange version of this case, cleaned it with leather cleaner and the dye came off! I love a nice premium leather case, but this isn't it in my book.
Just sad we cannot get a high quality slim leather case, that isn't a wallet or folds out into a stupid origami swan or something. If the Pixel is selling as well as we are led to believe, I am surprised more folks aren't making them.

More likely is that leather cases are not very popular now and they take a lot more production to make compared to a molded case. Less demand, more production costs means less availability.
I have the exact same case, and have had mine on for about a month as well, maybe slightly longer.
Just checked the back of mine and it's fine - totally scratch free and perfect under the case. I can't see how this case would damage the back of the phone as it's backed with a thin layer of foam.
Maybe some crud got stuck in between the case and the back?
