i think so lots of websites have scans of an internal memo stating the update as the 30th. if not the 30th then the 7th since thats when free hotspot promo ends and they said a software update would disable this.

Considering that there have been few rumblings (other than some well placed informants), I'd have to say probably not a full blown release, but maybe the start of soak testing.
I'm not holding my breath
Who really cares anyways?
If you are on this forum, chances are you are already running some type of GB on your phone and it is probably better than any "stock" release whether that is tomorrow or a month from now.
the GB roms run great (im on theory)....but come on man...its not going to be as stable as a final GB + Sense build...there are many proprietary files that are not complete with the test build...i cant see why the new official build wont increase are GB rom experience

Just wait for one of the devs to make a rooted version of the release and then flash the zip to your phone. Simple as pie.
you shouldnt update if you are rooted. wait for a rooted stock firmware.
I highly doubt it since there's been little or no talk at all about it. I was wondering since I just snatched one off of CL for super cheap. guess I'll go root instead.
I'd like to point out that it was all of 3 weeks ago they leaked something that looked like a reliable RUU called MR2 that was beyond question Froyo. Is it just me, or am I the ONLY one that took one look at that fake looking photo and said to myself "Dear God, the only thing that would look more fake would be a duck bill on a cactus." Can you imagine what the order for such a thing would sound like? "Hey, Johnny! We need and INTERNAL MEMO drawn up. Make sure to put our logo in the LEFT corner where NOBODY would ever put a logo on official stationary, be sure to add a picture of the device incase NOBODY has ever seen our first LTE phone, and definitely add specific OTA release numbers AND the radio version that will include so that our boys down in technical support will grow big rubbery ones as they dangle the information out there at hords of pimple-faced geeks calling with 'problems' but are really just hoping for the next big scoop for Androidforums.com" If Gingerbread come out in an official OTA today, I will eat my Thunderbolt and post the video on Youtube. I promise. In fact, if it comes out in the next 90 days, I'll eat the phone.

Scheduled. But no specific release date. People have been saying March / April.
The Note should definitely be getting ICS.
Okay cool thanks guys!
I believe Samsung said in Q1, and a rumor just surfaced that it would be March 1.
Murphy is a cousin of mine so i say AT&T will update to ICS 2-4 months after Int'l ppl get it from Samsung.
i <3 you Murph!!
That's the worst part of this. My Cappy has been amazing with ICS. I'm almost tempted to keep it until the Note get ICS also.
Too bad the hardware is different for the ATT note (from International version), we don't have LTE in Seattle, but I dislike the physical button on the IV.
Oh well, here's hoping ATT doesn't run the same route as the Captivate (Froyo forever sucked, then Gingerbread last week or so! It was great to have ports of gingerbread well before ATT)
OP, if ics came to the g-note a week after tomorrow it wouldn't be soon enough.
The captivate is freaking unbelievable running it. I to am enjoying it ...almost... enough to put off buying a new one. The cappy is a completely new phone...rom it on the g-note and it will -scream .... on ice cream. (sorry I couldn't help that last part)

ICS on AT&T Note is unlikely in first half of 2012. End of 2012, maybe. 2013? More likely.
It probably will not be ota.... There will probably be bootloaders if the notes ever get ics.
With my history on updates for at&t devices....if it EVER comes, count yourself
lucky. AT&T, except for the iPhones, delays, delays, delays updates.
I've had two non branded phones, and always get updates MONTHS before at&t updates.

Source? If that's just a guess, please say so.
After dealing with samsungs BS with the Vibrant, I don't believe a single word, promise, hint, or hope that they announce until I see ICS on my device. I love Samsungs hardware, but I have lost faith in the company itself long ago when dealing with my vibrant and our 10% out of the box fail rate with Sync Master monitors.
On a plus side, my vibrant runs ICS beautifully so I'm sure it will be even better on the Note once a few good ROMS are released and the bugs are worked out.

It's called common sense if you ever dealed with Samsung devices on AT&T in the past. Anything else is just naive thinking, or fantacy.
For the record, AT&T (not Samsung) is the one determines when an update will be available. And AT&T almost never give out release dates. In rare cases it did so (Captivate and Infuse GB updates are said to be available in fall 2011), they screwed it (both release in 2012).
So, any posting about release schudle is pure guess.

+1. If it comes in OTA, wait a few days. OTA update with bootloader change almost always bricks a few phones everytime Samsung tries it. Most recent is the GS2 Skyrocket 2.3.6 OTA last month.
We have to go through the phases of an over due update. We havn't even seen the numerous "i know someone who can say with certainty that..." or "my brothers cousins sisters poodles hairdresser brother works on the dev teams and said..." or my personal favorite "i know someone inside the company who says". Then there is the phase of dispair where people say they will never buy sammy again and will be selling this POS and so on. Check out the captivate and vibrant forums and you'll see lots. In the vibrants case, it was Samsungs fault for dragging their feet, not T-Mo as they hadnt received the software to bloatware onto when waiting for Froyo! Sit and wait and watch current ROM scene if you really want ICS.

That's the common mis-conception. Carrier bloatware is baked into the ROM by Samsung per carrier request.
Here is how a firmware update process goes:
1. The carrier in question must feel the need for an firmware update. It's a big deal because it has to allocate resources for extensive testing, training of CSR and actual releasing.
2. The carrier makes a request for new firmware to Samsung.
3. Samsung builds the new firmware based on carrier's request and send to carrier for testing.
4. The carrier test extensively of the new build. If there are significant problems found, it goes back to step 3.
5. After extensive testing, carrier OKs the new firmware but need to pick a release date. Most importantly it has make sure it won't jeopardize the sales of new phones.
6. Once received OK from carrier, Samsung can put out the new firmware.
I'm not sure we are even past step 1 yet.
My theory is Sprint is **** blocking HTC from pushing it forward. The reason behind this is simple. I believe that they are trying to Push the Nexus Prime with ICS for a month or two then we will get it. Specs to a layman shopper these phones are close to one another (dual core, ram, ect) I know for us here they are not but the average Joe they are. Sprint pays a lot for new phones and the Evo 3D is near EOL so they'd rather have people looking at the new shiny then an old one. Just my humble two cents for what it's worth....
No i am not trolling and I own a 3D . I also don't know when EOL is but this June they'll have had it for a year so it's closer now then the PRIME is by almost a year.
You would actually think sprint would want to sell more of the 3d's right now, since they have a lot of inventory left. And if they don't sell them now at 150 or 200 bucks, they will have to discount them to 99 bucks or lower to get rid of remaining stock.
They did that to the EVO lol gave it gingerbread and few months later it went out the window. I don't think Sprint is the problem think HTC is tryin to make it flawless maybe
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
True sitlet but they have more money right now tied up in the nexus prime order then they do the remaining Evo's so if they want to recoup that fast they'd hold any phones getting ICS and have just the Prime for a month or two ... then update the other stock as well as introduce new phones. .... Again just my two cents. Thanks for you input though :
True Reaper that may be but HTC normally is pretty good at pushing updates or at least they were for the Hero for the first year as well as the og Evo. I'd rather blame Sprint cause HTC really is trying to get it's s**t together for it's user base and they've had ICS to play with now for what... 5 or 6 months? Cause the developers get it before they push it to phones or release the source....

HTC told us we would have ICS in the beginning of the year. I asked on Facebook why the ICS update has been posponed to "later in the year" instead of having it at "the beginning of the year", the response I got was that "nothing has been delayed" and then a link to their note on Facebook.

Actually, if it isn't before the end of March, we were lied to. To me, "early" implies within the first three months of the year, but rest assured my friend, you guys with the GSM 3d will most certainly receive your ISC update LONG before we CDMA/Sprint users get ours.
Yeah, radioshack sold me mine for $100. That $200 pricing is already out the window.
I am betting they are looking for a way to force HBOOT 1.5 in order to use ICS. They probably have a release already ready... but they are hoping to add that hook. If too much time goes by, the public pressure will force them to release sooner than they want.
My prediction about the original HBOOT unlock delay was spot on, even though people called me crazy. So... don't doubt me this time.

If your right, then we as a community need to voice the opinion to Sprint directly about their poor choice in holding this back for us....
In all honesty the more I think about it a new phone coming out should not delay an update to an older one. Even if they were updating the 3D to Sense 4.0 the pure hardware alone of the new HTC device will be leaps ahead of ours and really an update to our device wouldn't delay or deter anyone from buying the new device anymore than if it wasn't out. If anything the publicity of Sprint pushing manufacturers to roll out OTA's faster would benefit them more...

I don't think the Nexus has anything to do with it. I believe it's all Sprint and what phone they consider their flagship device. When the Evo 4g came out it got babyed with a lot of software upgrades while the Epic 4g just sat and rot. Now you have the Epic 4G Touch as the flagship this time around and its been receiving quite a few updates. This includes some leaked ics builds. So I have reason to believe whatever is Sprints flagship device is the device Sprint will push manufacturers to develop for..

Do you really believe they would have released an update while the Rezound has been on sale from last week through today. The release of ICS would not have been done until the sale is over. Otherwise you would have had units being sent out without ICS from the early part of the sale and then sent some out at the end of the sale with ICS. It would have complicated everything, now the sale is over they can address thier attention to releasing ICS. Well at least I hope.
I don't think that Verizon promised this update on 4/6/2012. Wasn't this a Best Buy bogus post for both the Razr getting ICS on 4/4 and the Rezpund 4/6, neither of whaich was true. I have not read anywhere that Verizon published this release date for ICS for the Rezound.
It wasn't confirmed by anybody but a BB poster which had no evidence behind it anyway.

I honestly don't care anymore. I have fully working ICS on my Rezound. If they never officially released it, I wouldn't care much since I already have it. What would be nice however, is if they dropped the source code on us for the leaks that are already floating around.
I still don't understand the outrage that some people have over it. I mean, the people that care about it are here or on other sites that have info about rooting and development - so if you want ICS - go get it. The rest of the people - they probably don't care because they just want their device to work, and it does out of the box untouched. It works pretty darn well too.

this is so far my fav phone period but i honestly doubt vzw will ever bother pushing ics onto this thing. if they do though, it'll be in the distant future when ics becomes standard on most devices.
Why care about a bloated up release from VZW that has an older version of Sense? When there are several awesome Sense 4.0 roms that run smooth as butter available for us to flash. Get with the times brotha.
So, I'm sure it's not only me wondering this... Are we getting this thing ever?

No, razr is the best phone I could have compare to my other Android devices, and I very happy with my razr.
The big disappointed I got, came from Motorola's developers and service.
And, no... Ios is bad, has no many options, the system designed for little kids/not intelligent people/lazy hoes/people who can't handle complicated os and etc.

I'm assuming RAZR will get it, it is still one of the most up to date phones motorola have on offer.
Based on the ICS release I'd guess we get it rolling out about the same time the Nexus devices get Kola Kubes.
Hopefully at the same time motorola initially promise to keep the bootloader locked then decide to change their mind, completely ignore the promise and do the opposite.
Honestly, I think by the time we get it we'll all be ready to upgrade to a new phone if we haven't already. I'm gonna say Q2 2013...

I don't really have much faith in Motorola updating our devices anytime soon. They're failing to meet their own release schedules for ICS so I don't see how they will have JB out anytime soon.
I was looking for a decent tablet and hoping to get a Prime but the Nexus 7 hits the price point perfectly so I ordered a 16gb one. Hopefully there isn't an issue with Google's release/shipping date so I can enjoy JB faster.
Considering how long it took them to push ICS I seriously doubt we will ever get and official Jelly Bean OTA update. Knowing Verizon they are probably going to EOL the RAZR/MAXX not long after the RAZR HD gets released. Constantly releasing new phones brings them more money... not supporting phones they have out already. The devs on the other hand will probably have one out soon.

Releasing it the at the end of June is pretty far from their promise. And when other manufactures release ICS for their phones isn't relevant. This is about Motorola. So yes I have little faith in Motorola. If they had stated that ICS would be released for the RAZR in mid-2012 from the beginning I wouldn't complain. But that isn't what they promised.

They never promised they'd release it within 6 weeks, they promised that they'd release a list of devices that would get ICS. The Q2 release date was the only promise they ever made on it, and they've held to that for Verizon. On GSM, I'm not surprised they've pushed it back, because apparently there are some issues in this OTA and I'm sure they want to fix them up a bit, and then they'll push that update out as the first release for GSM users and a minor update for Verizon users. It probably won't that GSM users are waiting until the end of Q3 for ICS, it will probably be pretty soon.

If you READ what that infamous tweet said, they promised to release DEVICES for ICS. This means devices that meet the hardware requirements for ICS. They in no WAY promised ICS in 6 weeks and there is no way you can twist those tweets to mean that.
Waiting for ICS was horrible. I literally checked for updates every day before I threw in my towel and flashed the LATAM ICS ROM (and loving it).
If the RAZR isn't going to get the support it deserves, would you guys contemplate say, selling your device and getting an HTC One X/Galaxy SIII?
I mean, our devices are still new and can fetch a hefty sum...
