The driver is included in your SD card inside your DEll Venue..... copy and install it to your computer...
Superoneclick will work but you will have to folllow the instruction and also give it SEVERAL tries!!
I tried many times with usb debugging on / off but still not working. Hope next turn will be fine

Hello, and thanks for the instructions. However, it seems DELL has taken the file down as I am not able to download it using this link. In case you still have it, can you please upload it somewhere?
EDIT: Nevermind, it's working now.
I've done, but follow this special version for Froyo 2.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913709
USB Debugging = ON
using SuperOneClick v1.6.1 or later always stuck on "Reading OS Version Properties..."

Tried and failed
I tried to root my dell venue using the mentioned steps and all I kept seeing on Superoneclick was "Waiting for Device....."
What should I do now..... the device is connecting in all other ways to the PC.
I can use Dell sync and I can use the USB mode to transfer data.
What settings should I put on the phone?
Should I use USB Debugging?
Should I keep the Data connected?
Looking forward to your valuable inputs.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I was flashing my vibrant and accidentally pulled the USB during the flash. I could not get into download mode so I bought the USB dongle that puts it in dl mode and it worked. Flashed the wrong stock rom which was for the international version. It worked great other than no internet so I went in recovery to root it. Got stuck in recovery due to not being able to select anything since I had no home button. Downloaded the j16 rom and flashed with Odin. Went to reinstall packages, phone turned off when I hit reboot and never came back on. No download mode even with USB jumper and not even the charging icon, nothing. Help please. I have since bought the Samaung Focus which I like but would love my vibrant back too. Thanks.

After using superboot as Iwas trying to find away of flashing dj steves 1.9.0 my device restarted and no longer gets passed the dell logo. I have tried to factory reset and I havel also used the QDL Tool (following the tutorial) with no success. Any help or guidance would be really helpful on how I can get my streak working again. I have run out of things I can think of to try so any help is great.
I am a bit of rookie and I probably should of given up but I didnt so I would really appreciate any help in getting my phone working again.
Ohh I can also get into fastboot, recovery and diagnostics mode for QDL.
Thanks so much in advance
Matt
Did you get qdl tool to successfully load the os? That should do it
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Yeah QDL Tool went without a hitch, I even tried it a couple of times.. but still no luck.
FIXED! Managed to fix it by flashing the stock recovery in fastboot+command prompt then put the microsd card into a card reader to copy the stock pkg which I found on xda then went through option 2 on recovery as normal.
Thanks for your help
Matt
trying to flash amss and dsp1. i get my phone to fastboot_mode and i can bring up the fastboot menu on my computer but i still get stuck waiting on device. what am i missing?
check a couple of things. Drivers installed properly and phone connected properly. There is a post on flashing with a flasher posted a couple of days back. You might wanna consider using that. I haven't used it myself, but, feel it should work.

Probably the driver for your phone. Follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_5/Flashing_Guide#Windows
with the program,'' Fastboot Flasher-V3.1 i installed image, recovery-Clockwork-streak'' I wrote image, after I disconnected the phone from usb cable and I removed the battery. those I have tried to start and never turn at all, can not enter any custom recovery in fastboot, nowhere, not charging, PC can not recognize, nothing, phone is dead. Please help me.
PS.I installed the Dell much more custom roms, but I was wrong with Clockwork. I found a GSM service for 50 euros saying that we fix this probleme.i will return next day with the answer if we repaired and if everything works just as before
There's not much anyone can do if the Streak shows no signs of life. It is possible to resurrect a dead Streak by using its Jtag pad on the motherboard (search the forums for it) but even if you do the Streak will very likely never work for calls again.
And, while I'm trying not to sound like a broken record here, this is why we encourage people to read and to do research before attempting to root. For had you read the Streak wiki or even the thread "Everything you always wanted to know about the Streak but were too busy bricking it" you would have learned how to properly root the Streak. The program you used probably issued the command "fastboot -w" or "fastboot -erase", either of which will brick the Streak. That and Clockworkmod doesn't work well on Streaks, thus the existence of StreakMod Recovery.
