[q] plz help dell streak 5 brick - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

with the program,'' Fastboot Flasher-V3.1 i installed image, recovery-Clockwork-streak'' I wrote image, after I disconnected the phone from usb cable and I removed the battery. those I have tried to start and never turn at all, can not enter any custom recovery in fastboot, nowhere, not charging, PC can not recognize, nothing, phone is dead. Please help me.
PS.I installed the Dell much more custom roms, but I was wrong with Clockwork. I found a GSM service for 50 euros saying that we fix this probleme.i will return next day with the answer if we repaired and if everything works just as before

There's not much anyone can do if the Streak shows no signs of life. It is possible to resurrect a dead Streak by using its Jtag pad on the motherboard (search the forums for it) but even if you do the Streak will very likely never work for calls again.
And, while I'm trying not to sound like a broken record here, this is why we encourage people to read and to do research before attempting to root. For had you read the Streak wiki or even the thread "Everything you always wanted to know about the Streak but were too busy bricking it" you would have learned how to properly root the Streak. The program you used probably issued the command "fastboot -w" or "fastboot -erase", either of which will brick the Streak. That and Clockworkmod doesn't work well on Streaks, thus the existence of StreakMod Recovery.

Did i bricked my device ?

ok guys.
i made this : fastboot erase boot -w
reboot
then i connct device to QDL.
QDL Runs and reboots after reboot it reboots as QUALCOMM MSDN DRIVER.
no fatboot no recovery no boot only 3 lights and QUALCOMM mode
any ideas
fastboot erase kills streaks since it's buggy on the streak, your streak is likely dead
i found the solution fit streakflash tool thanks to dj_steve
Did it work? If it did can you post the steps you did?
Normally QDL wont work when bricked with fastboot erase cache, either you found a way to fix it, or it can brick in different ways and some are in fact fixable
First download : STREAK FLASH from streakdroid
Then run QDL TOOL
that is all...
Maybe you are mlikely more lucky then others (including me) you still got QUALCOM DIANOSTIC MODE on.
well you need jtag then. i think you really make a good brick...
Could you advise more detail about JTAG process, what I need to buy, only JTAG cable or JTAG box? how about software? Sorry I am zero knowldge about JTAG, just heard a little bit about it.
If you dont have experience with JTAGging devices you're pretty much on your own with the streak, the JTAG points havnt even been identified yet so you'd have to find them on your own before even attempting to recover that way
Is there other way I can servive my pretty dead streak, even the process is involve teardown, cause I am not in the place cover by DELL service, and also my DELL was out of warrenty since JAN2011.
I see the JTAG announce that they can repaire STREAK dead boot, just start the software, check for update, in the update have a pinout, which I think it should show me how to connect to correct pins.
The problem is I did not find what I should buy from market for JTAGing, can I only a JTAG USB cable, or I need other stuffs. is there any way to download the JTAG software to see how it work first before we buy JTAG equipement.
another issue, I seem to see there are 2 different JTAG equipemts, RIFF-JTAG and ORT-JTAG what is all of that, could someone help me.
Riff Jtag box have all informations. Just update firmware
Recommend StreakFlash first
You are now in contact with the number 1 near bricker of the Dell Streak and I recommend you try Streakflash before you do anything:
http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=15&did=23
Once complete it will come up with blackscreen, no big deal pull the battery re-install and follow the instructions for QDL:
http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=15&did=8
That should get you back to a version that is working and ready to be updated to 1.9.0 or stock 2.2, but you will need to follow 2.2 instructions TO THE LETTER to make it work. Hope this helps.
@vanemburghj,
I could not get my DELL to reconize by PC as Qualcomm Dianostic mode(by using Vol-UP and connect the cable to PC, I have disattached baterry and put it back as instruction in streak flash forum).

You should try QDL tool if your stuck in the loop. After the QDL tool, root and update with either CWM or StreakMod Recovery.
QDL Tool WILL WIPE your phone completely. Search for QDL tool and make sure you have the drivers for the Qualcomm diagnostic usb hs 9002 or the QDL tool will fail. Hope this helps.
Someone here might have a better way of fixing it, so keep searching before you go anything and the carnal rule READ READ READ
Good Luck!!
I couldn't find a direct link to QDL Tool, but search the forums and google. I know what it feels like when you're stuck, so I wanted to ease the frustration by giving you direct links. Just do searches.
You need: Drivers and QDL Tool. There are two versions of the QDL Tool...get them both just in case.
o, thank you so much, I am going totry, and will post if it works.
try a factory reset
Streakdroid.com web site is missing content --"streakflash" link.

What baseband are you using? You can get/verify this information by restarting while holding POWER+CAMERA and instead of clicking "Fastboot", entering
Code:
*#301#
on the number pad beneath the "Fastboot" clickable area, then entering
Code:
01
to get the Modem Version from the "Device info" produced.
What custom recovery are you using? IIRC, I had an identical problem when using ClockworkMod Recovery and got things past the boot animation after installing StreakMod recovery, which seems to be more predictable in a number of ways.
From the description provided, I think it might be premature to resort to QDL Tool to get past the point at which you're stuck.
You haven't described for how long you have waited while stuck on the boot animation. I assume that you watched it hang for at least ten minutes. It is a truism that the first boot can take quite awhile.
How many times have you rebooted and gotten stuck on the boot animation in this manner? If more than twice, then I suppose that you can expect that restarting won't help. I myself have gotten stuck at the boot animation and then upon restart found it to boot up fully to the home screen.
I'd vote first for a factory reset from the white-background Dell recovery.
As far as QDL is concerned, I think that one should use the StreakFlash version rather than the other/older version (which I can't find anyway).
For QDL, if and when you must use it: StreakDroid.com is kinda screwed up right now. Try: http://downloads.streakdroid.com/djsteve/streakflash.zip

[HELP] Getting phone back to working

IM REAL DUMB FOR DOING THIS! i flashed a .tar file in CWM and now i just have blue and green lines across my phone i cant get odin to recognize it and i cant get into download mode should i just quit or is there a fix? Any help would be great THANK YOU!
PLEASE HELP!!
Theres plenty of options but alot of us are tired of writing them all down... there is enough info on this whole forum to fix your issue, its just a matter of time, patience and persistence
Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
What he said. Search the forum for "UNBRICK MAH VIBRNTZ" or something or other and you'll get a ton of answers, a few of which may involve cheese.
so why dont you point me into the direction to actually help instead of assume ive done nothing but complain on a thread. I have searched the forums and i cant find anything. When i did find something the downloads were dead so i dont know what fixes you are talking about thats why im asking for help
Worst case scenario, you can do the UnBrickable mod... notice there are TWO threads for this in the first few pages of the android dev section..
If youd rather not go there, keep trying to get odin to recognize by: first reinstall drivers on that computer, try different usb cable/port, try gb bootloader key combo and froyo bootloader combos (pull batt and let it sit for a few minutes before each try to make sure its really off).
If you have a diff cable on a diff port on a comp with freshly installed drivers (32bit on a 32bit machine or 64bit on a 64bit machine [or you could try mix and match]) and you try both key combos and it NEVER gets seen by odin, kill yourself.
Kidding... at that point, you can do the unbrickable mod or go to mobiletechvideos dot com (i think thats the ssite) and have them charge you to fix it.
Explicit enough?

Unfortunately, it looks as if you've hard bricked your device. See the following warning thread for more information. You'll have to send the device back to retail or purchase a new one.
Make sure that you do not attempt to flash SBF files aside from the Pudding bootloader unlocker once you get your new device. As always, hacking away at your phone is dangerous-- be careful!
Also, please post questions in the Q & A section. I've moved your thread for you this time. Good luck with your device... I'm sorry you're stuck with a paperweight.
me too i am very sad

This is painful and difficult to accept that a phone can not be recovered by software problems, this will be my first and last motorola, should send a global warning not to buy a phone with a data structure so weak

nvidia and motorola have the software available to fix the phone, obviously, or else there wouldn't be a nvflash function in the first place.
they just haven't made it available to the public. =\
it is very logical to think that motorola and Nvidia have the solution to the problem that is not available to the public, I have contacted the people of Motorola and they say I do not know, if anyone knows where I can send my atrix team repair I would appreciate

[HELP] USB Connectivity Issues

Hey guys. I was going to post this on the Android Forums, but the L9 board there isn't getting hardly any traffic, so I suppose I'll just repaste here:
Hey guys, it's loopy time. xD
I've been through XDA, again, nobody seems to really have an answer for this, or even an answer for me. There's this guy over there named Kuma that made a stock 2nd-init locked bootloader ROM based off of 10e. I don't really desire to go back to it, but I like the fact that it comes with the xposed framework which you all know is an easy way to theme things that you should be able to theme, like making the status bar and notification area transparent.
I made a mistake in thinking that you can install Chainfire 3D on a locked BL, boy was I wrong. Two soft bricks later, I end up on 10d then do the OTA update to 10e. I've got the LG Mobile Support tool working as the offline flash. So I threw d on there and it worked....until I decided that I wanted to enable USB debugging.
There was a thread where I was advised to use Fastboot to flash the U and X boots, which I succeeded, but it wiped most of the partitions. At first I was panicking like...OMG, the family is going to worry because at this point I thought I was hard bricked, and my father is ill yada yada. So after about twenty minutes of crying and flipping out, I was able to get the USB for fastboot working with OMAP (which is tricky to install!) Three bottles of Pepsi Cola later, some chips, and a honey bun, I was able to get back to stock 10d.
Now, I've tried various drivers to try and get this thing to a go for ADB so I could root, install 2nd-init, and get Kuma's ROM back. I tried the updated drivers from the LG website. I have tried LG drivers 3.8.1.
The issue that I am having is that I am unable to access any of the connectivity modes while USB debugging is checked. If I uncheck it and try to plug it in, everything works perfectly. However, when USB Debugging is checked, no matter what connectivity mode I am on, I suffer with the LG Software coming up in autoplay and furthermore disconnecting after about ten seconds.
I tried in Ubuntu Linux to get it to work, and the same thing happens. This leads me to believe that either there is something wrong with the phone or something wrong with my computer, but other devices work. I'm really confused. Is there partitions for 10e MS769 MetroPCS that I can flash via fastboot to correct this? Is there another tool I can use to do this? I pretty much know fastboot is the key, but i'm going to need some assistance.
Hope you guys have an answer. I sure don't.
Please help me with this. I am familiar with fastboot maybe its a bad .bin file?
Assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
LoopyD
Bump.
Anyone?
Had the same problem, usb debug and any sort of adb connection doesn't work. Kuma comes to the rescue like the super hero he is and helped me fix it. Here is the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49475336#post49475336 . Oddly enough this problem got worse for me I had it for about 3 months and it resulted in constant crashes and constant resets. Thank Kuma's post if it works!
Thank you sir. The ADB executable installer now shows the device. Problem solved.
Thanks
