Ok do this,
What does the flashtool state when your phone is connected with the backlight on?
Device disconnected? in MTP mode?
Check the adb drivers and if possible reinstall them
BTW how did you get into this problem? did you try to update a firmware or kernel or what?
Then Try this trick!!!
* Remove the battery.
* Connect your phone to system with the battery still out.
* Now hold the back button and put the battery on, green led will glow.
* Now you are on flash mode and this would stay for not more than 5-10 secs, You should have quick fingers, so that you should select the firmware or any update within those ten sec's. Keep trying this will work...
Get all the necessary files in place before you try this.

In flashmode you can reflash the android system on your phone, either with SE's official tool (gives your the latest SE version), or with i.e. flashtool, withch allows you to choose what to flash your phone with.
Keep off your phone, connect with USB and press Back button. Stop press Back when green LED is here
Ok, i had to do this twice now, as i bricked it a couple of weeks ago
you'll have to reflash with sony ericsson update service here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup.../detailed/updateservice/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
Follow the instructions and press the back button before plugging in the cable.
Download the software and keep in mind that playing around with roms will result in these problems so don't go too far.
Hope this helps and good luck

SEMC USB Driver won't install

Hello,
i got a little Problem with my X10 (2.3.3 - rooted) and my Notebook (Acer - Win 7 64 bit).
I tried all ways to install the driver to use USB-Debugging but it won't install. The Device-Manager still tells me SEMC USB as unknown
I tried the usual way, start the phone with holding 'back', install the drivers manually...
Are there any other ways to get it working ?
Same goes for me,
Device manager states that the device is unknown, flashtool not working, PC companion no hope (connected to different USB ports including those of the motherboard).
it used to work but no chance now.
it charges normally from the USB (Orange LED) but would not connect to the PC.
Details:
Windows 7 x64
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Bootloader Unlocked Xperia X10 with 2.3.3 ROM and Doom's Kernel (the latest one)
The guy here says it is related to either windows windows update or faulty cable
http://android.modaco.com/topic/347751-flash-mode-not-working/
Didn't help...
But installing PC Companion did it
PC Companion install drivers automaticlly, that is the best solution.

I tried removing and installing PC Companion but it didn't work either.
Any help guys?
Changing the computer had no effect as well
You must install SEUS ( Sony Ericsson Update Service ). Only SEUS will install right driver. Problem with SEUS is that when you look on SE official site, they tell you that SEUS for X10 no longer persist, and they guide you to PC companion which is crap.
Try this: try to connect your phone with PC, in flash mode. PC will try to install your phone driver but it can't find it. Then in Action Centar, on PC, (a small flag in sys tray, right down corner of a screen) find solution for this problem, and windows will automatically find SEUS over net. Install and enjoy.
from X10i via XDA premium
tried that but no luck as well (even in flash mode SEUS can not detect the device)
Thank you
hello i found a way and it worked for me download flash tool and extract it look for a folder called drivers in there u will find something called ggsetup-2.2.0.10
run this install it and all done
@huzi7868 thank you for your help
However, that didn't succeed and I reinstalled windows and drivers again, but still not working
Even no luck when the phone is in flashmode
Just tried it on a third Computer and checked the cable but the cable is working on another HTC Desire but not on my Xperia X10 (I mean my X10 cable), however they are both charging
try flashtools, there's a folder called 'drivers' in it, open it and click on the installer

I agree, I also have solved in this way.
Download the latest version of Flashtool and after installing it you will find in the "drivers" folder the file "Flashtool-Drivers.exe".
Run it and select the drivers you need. Then connect again your Xperia X10
I really appreciate your help, but I had done that 3 times and on different computers but "USB Device not recognized"
As I sad before, use SEUS to install SEMC USB DRIVER. I have win 7 64bit, and I install driver on it. First, install Update service. When its finished, start Update Service and follow instruction (check "Licence Agree" button, and click next, then pick your phone, X10i I suppose, be carefull there is two X10, One is X10, and other is X10 SO-01b. I pick X10 for myself, and press NEXT. Turn off your phone, press and hold BACK button on phone while connecting with PC via USB. HOLD till you see message to release BACK button. Till then your driver will be installed.
Download SEUS from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBDVZ3DG
@Dzufa Thank you, but I had done that before and tried it again, whenever I connect the phone pressing the back button the green LED illuminates and "USB device is not recognized" appears and nothing happen after that, SEUS just behaves like nothing is connected.
Try with this one. And I think you must be online, because SEUS must download some files.
I really did that and of course updated SEUS, as I said green LED illuminates and nothing happens even in flash tool (it used to work for ages but suddenly it stopped, it only charges)
BTW, I had flashed many kernels and ROMs before it happened so I am quite familiar with flashtool and SEUS, I unlocked the bootloader using 9lucas method and it worked after that I installed XSP ROM and the USB worked as well, however after 2 weeks or so, one day I left it connected it to the PC and I found that the phone turned off and refused to power on, I left it for a while in the charger then powered it on and it powered on, then it has refused to connect to the PC through USB since then.

Did big mistake! Bricked, stucked at white SonyEricson sign.

Hi all!
My brother has an x10 mini pro. When i asked him what is the phone exactly, he only said xperia mini pro. (I'm not familiar with SE, most playin with my SGS phones.) I've used the SE Extreme Tweak tool to get CWM on the phone (already rooted successfully, debugging turned on) but that was for Xperia Mini Pro. I can't do nothing, no flash- or recovery mode. Don't know what should i do, i think i've bricked his phone totally, Windows doesn't recognize at all.

Download and install Sony PC Companion
Leave the phone disconnected from the PC
Choose update
PC Companion won't recognise the phone because it is disconnected and offer a repair link
Choose that, accept to loose all data, it will ask you to identify the model and download the firmware for it
It will ask you to connect your phone in flashmode
(Either: if phone is turned off, press and hold the back-button and plug in the usb-cable, OR connect your phone with the usb-cable, press Home and Powerbutton together until the screen goes black, then release those buttons and press the back-button. Either way the led will go green and PC Companion will start to flash the stock firmware to the phone)
Done
If PC Companion gives you the message that there is no firmware for the phone we'll have to figure something else, but try those steps above first
i think you should try seus (sony ericsson update service) to repair your phone
if u want you can download it from here: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/ and follow the steps on the screens and repair ur phone

[Q] X10 Mini Pro won't turn on?

I have one problem with my x10, I've tried to update software to Android 2.3, but in the middle of update I have accidently cancled installation. Now phone won't turn on it is freezing at the SE logo, I also can't connect it with PC. I have tried with PC Companion, Flashtool, S1tool also with repair option in PC companion, but the PC won't recognize phone. I have installed xRecovery which also I can't reach now, but just for the record I'am abel to get into flash mode(green diode lights up, when I hold back button and plug usb), but obviesly it doesen't matter because the PC won't recognize the device.
Is there any way the bring this thing from death?

As long as it can reach flashmode you can recover it, maybe try a different usb-port. You're using the original cable that came with the phone?

The cabel is original. Yes I have tried different usb ports but still nothing happens. I will try later again, but that doesn't give me hope.

Maybe you can try keeping the usb-cable plugged in, and when it asks for flashmode press home-and powerbuttons at the same time, but only when it asks for flashmode, not before that. If the phone is in flashmode before the software is ready it won't work.

[Q] I flashed the wrong rom

I flashed the wrong rom on my Xperia Z2, I tried fixing it by flashing tft file, but I couldn't even get the device into flashmode (Power + Vol up), It just never vibrates, when I put it in the charger it just keeps blinking red.
What's the proper fix for this? and is this a soft-brick or hard-brick? Please help.

Flashmode is not Power button + Volume up. But...
Connect USB to ur computer
Then Hold the Volume Down key on your phone while u connect the USB Cable to the phone.
If you successfully get to flashmode, then u can flash an FTF file for ur phone. (This will also wipe internal sd files if you don't untick 'data' under wipes) Then again, phone might not boot properly if you don't wipe as u said something about custom ROM.
OR Follow these steps I found on Sony website
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps
Tried using flashtool with Vol down buut
18/058/2014 23:58:26 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
18/058/2014 23:58:26 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
I'm sure that I have the drivers installed as I tried earlier today to unlock the bootloader through flashtool (which didn't really work out) and it recognized the device just fine.
right now it doesn't even show the Sony logo..I'll try PC Companion method in seconds..
EditC Companion is asking me to make sure that the battery level is above %80, when I was flashing the new rom, the battery level was around %50, should I care about this, or is it just an extra precaution? because I don't really see a way for me to know the battery level.

I'm sure 50% is enough to install through PC Companion unless ur battery is bad.
And do you by anymeans use windows 8? If you do, Did you disable driver signature while installing Flashmode, Fastboot and Z2 drivers from the C:\Flashtool\drivers folder, or where ever u installed flashtool to.
I believe I didn't disable driver signature, I connected the device to a different usb port too just to be sure, my OS is windows 8.1.
PC Companion is updating the phone right now, I'll see how it turns out and report back to you, thanks.
Edit:It worked, my phone is alive, thank you, stanley <3
