[Q] SK17i: mobile signal drop when holding with slideout keyboard - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi,
With my minipro, I noticed that when I'm holding it with the slideout keyboard out (typing out a text for example), that the mobile signal will rapidly drop and then lose it altogether. If I then place the phone down and stop holding it, the signal will return. It seems to be a bit like the infamous iphone4 problem where finger contact is messing up the antennas.
It happens when I'm holding it in portrait mode too, though it only drops to about one or two bars rather than losing signal completely.
Anyone else get this?

[Q] Lumia 800 Issues

Hi, ive had my Lumia 800 for a week now and must say im loving it. I switched from an iPhone and it was the Metro Interface that did it for me. I got the Lumia 800 but im having the following issues:
Touch Screen Issues
Ive noticed when scrolling around the screen launches things without me clicking. Simply moving my finer over clicks a link on web pages for example. At first i thought it was me and my fat fingers. But then ive noticed that if i press the back button the phone vibrates 2-3 times. If i then press and hold the back button the seems to be pressing it over and over again. Its very strange, If i press really hard it doesnt happen. Anyone else having this problem? Im hoping the recent firmware update resolves this but its not available for me yet.
Camera "PINK" Spot
Ive also noticed that the camera has a "Pink Spot" right on the centre of the screen, Its hard to notice when taking normal picture, but then when i hold up to white background its very clear. Anyone else having this issue.
Battery (resolved)
When i first got the phone my battery performance was very poor. After a full charge i only got 10 hours use. But it got better each day and after 1 week im now getting about 35 hours on general usage. This includes Wifi always on, 1 gmail account using push, bluetooth off, loads of txts and few calls a day.
Anyway, those are my issues, if anyone else has any thoughts on this it would be much appreciated.
Yes the capacitve screen is a bit too sensitive, can probably be fixed in the same way as other phones that have had this issue with software.
Pink spot isnt that bad on here, seems all camera phones suffer from this in certain lighting the iPhone 4 being the worst with its massive blue blob in the middle of photos

"Ghost tapping" on screen?

Ok, so aside from a few barely noticeable dead pixels, my TF Prime is fine.
But 3-4 times I've had this weird issue... the TF will all of a sudden start freaking out, flipping screens back and forth, tapping on app icons, keyboard keys, etc. It's as if a ghost has taken over my Prime, lol... what the??
Just happens at random, doesn't seem to be a particular app or action that's setting it off. Has happened while using the stock browser, Evernote, and typing an email.
Anyone else seeing this? Some kind of software glitch, or do you think I got a dodgy touchscreen?
By any chance, do you have the keyboard dock attached? On a few occasions, I've had the palm of my hand kind of resting on the mouse pad and that will set it off - not a tablet flaw, it's just my hand in the wrong place. Without the dock, I've managed to accomplish the same "flaw" by resting my thumb too close to the screen. With a sensitive capacitive screen, you just need to be really close to the screen to set it off. If not, then you have a real problem.
Bye.
No, I'm not lucky enough to own the dock yet, got one on pre-order, lol.
It's not just one tap or two, I mean the thing just flips out, scrolling home screens back and forth, typing automatically on the keyboard, etc., like it's possessed or something... on auto-pilot. It will go on indefinitely, and the screen will become unresponsive to my own taps. The only way to stop it is by doing a hard reboot by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds.
Now that I think about it, probably a touchscreen hardware issue... seems like it's "holding" the tap on, not releasing the tap off when it happens. I guess I'm gonna return it next week, ugh.
I qwas having this problem also but it started happening after i put on a skinomi screen protector. People thought i got water in tablet but maybee that wasnt the problem. If your having same problem.

I've had that happen many times on my Nook Color. Drives me nuts. Certain games trigger it for me. Or sometimes it seems to be caused by my hand touching the screen or more than 2 points ( which is all my NC can handle )
Found that if I turn the device to sleep mode and wipe screen good, it usually fixes the issue. Either that or sometimes I have to reboot and it is normal again.
Glad I'm not the only one with a possessed tablet.

Right side of screen unresponsive to touch

I noticed today when i woke up i cannot press the right side of the screen and get any kind of response. It is only about a thumbs with of the right edge but this prevents me from being able to hit send on text messages on the default messaging app and also on go sms as the send buttons are in the same general location. Is my phone just FUBAR or is there some way i can resolve the issue. Have tried power cycling and thats about it. I guess i need to know if this is a software issue or a hardware issue and if there is any way to find out and fix the problem.
I've been having the same issue actually. In the bottom right corner, anyway.
Like when I go to attach a picture to a text message, I have to hit the text box first so the paperclip button is out of the corner. I've also had some trouble unlocking with the camera or touching it from the Navbar, where it's positioned in the bottom right corner. :/

I have similar issues with that when my phone is plugged in. And my acreen often locks up kinda with the last image on the screen being the only thing you see until you reset.

I don't think I've had an image stuck to my screen yet. I have this problem even if it isn't plugged in, which is really strange. Not sure why it's so unresponsive, takes several tries to unlock/select.
And kudos for being in Portland too! :good:
Have either of you found a consistent way around the problem or a way to resolve it? Also are you running the phone in the base state that you bought it in or is it rooted / unlocked?
I just tested my phone, by opening the browser to google.com (mostly white background), all around the edge of the screen. And I can see feedback animations for all my touches around the edge of the screen. So I don't think there is any problem with the touch digitizer, at least on my phone. Phone is still stock, rooted and TWRP.
I have touch animation when I touch the bottom right corner on the lockscreen, but it doesn't always drag/ripple out. Sometimes it acts like I've pulled my finger off so I have to do it again.
Rooted, unlocked, stock.
After touch responsiveness got increasingly worse i contacted AT&T and they are sending me a free replacement since these issues seem to be covered under the one year warranty. Just throwing that out there in case anyone else gets as frustrated with the problem as I have and cant find a permanent fix.
I can confirm that I am having very similar problems... it is getting worse.
I am stock rooted and unlocked.
It is getting harder and harder to press things, fling actions (like scrolling through a list) hardly move a thing.
I just installed a multitouch visualizer and whenever I have 2 fingers on the screen and then go to cross them (start with fingers in opposite corners, move one up and the other down until they pass each other in the middle) it actually loses both fingers and then sometimes only one pops up again on the screen.
Can anybody try an app like this Play Store Link.
I've had similar results with 2 other multitouch testers.
Is it my phone, or everybody's?
----EDIT-----
Figured I would install the Base ROM (7.0>7.3) because either it was a software issue and maybe the ROM would fix it, of it was a hardware issue (I really didn't think it should be acting like that) and I would try to get it replaced.
The Base ROM fixed my issue (for now, fingers crossed).
Now using a multitouch visualizer, the contact points are always seen, even when the fingers cross.
Don't know what caused it, but it was software (at least for me).
----EDIT----
Just plugged in the charger again... now the touchscreen is acting strange again... this phone does strange things when plugged in...

[Q] reassign camera button

My wife has had her 920 for all of 40 days and dropped it yesterday (they are slippery as a bar of soap). The screen cracked diagonally across the lower left hand corner, disabling the touch (the display still works) in that area along with the back and start buttons. Without one or the other of those two buttons, the phone is practically unusable; you have to power cycle between anything you want to do. As an interim solution, I was wondering if it was possible to reassign - through the registry - the camera button to provide either the "back" or "start" command? This would at least make the phone usable until we figure out how to get it fixed or replaced. Thoughts? Peace. Thanks.

Note 3 screen problems

So I've had the Snapdragon version for over a year now. There have been a few drops, but I've always used a screen protector and case, so there aren't really any visible damages. Recently though I've noticed some problems. The touch screen is malfunctioning if it gets warm (either in a hot room/outside (as it's summer and pretty hot here)/while charging). After turning on the touch visualizer in the developer settings I could see that it was registering another touch at a random place on a screen. This makes the phone unusable until I reboot it, which solves the problem temporarily. Another rproblem I have, is that sometimes a few black dots appear in the middle of the screen randomly. They just flash up then disappear. It's not a deal breaker, but rather annoying. Can anyone give a diagnosis on these problems, what could I do about it?
