My Thunderbolt is rooted, but no matter what ROM I flash i can't get service. This happened after installing CM7. I have tried flashing different ROMs, updating radios, and returning to stock. But no dice. I can get the phone into HBOOT and Recovery, and the phone will boot, but when it says to select language, and then goes to the Activation screen, it just says "Activating..." and does nothing else. Any ideas, or a fix would be very helpful! Thanks!
EDIT: Problem was fixed by flashing most recent Radio. When i flashed CM7 for some reason it deleted my radio files.. hmm
Sounds like something mighta broke after flashing. I'd flash 605.9 and give big red a call. I know not much help, but sounds like you tried everything else. Good luck
I know you said different Roms, but you try a sense ROM?
i know its basic but you have the backplate attached right its needed to get signal

Lol yes backplate is on. I just checked "about phone" and it says "baseband unknown" I think I have the wrong radio. I am going to search for the MR1 radio and install. I am running CM7, any idea on most recent radio?

And yes I have tried sense and desensed roms. I am currently running CM7 AOSP.

I flashed the most recent radio with ADB. Ran into a bunch of issues using the "flash_image" method.
Here is the link for all the radios:

I believe it is a mod done in the SystemUI.apk. Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208898
Edit** Maybe a kernel issue? I remember having the same issue on my EVO 4G with downloading roms and/or radios. What radio are you using?

Just the stock one I assume, unless the rom flashed something different. I'll have to flash another rom to see if it fixes it. I have seen the systemui edits that have borked 3g but I've ruled that out in my case.

The latest CDMA radio is 0.97.10.0530. Look in Baseband version is Settings and see what you have. If you have the older one, you can find the latest here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192661
I haven't seen any roms that include the radio. You usually have to manually update that yourself...

Hey,
Like many of you I have been trying out the new sense 4.0 roms as they come available. I usually end up back on bamf's 3.6 rom without issues through my nand backup.
Recently, my phone started freezing up after going back to the 3.6 rom. This never happened before. I tried flashing a new rom instead of using the backup and it keeps happening. Now, any rom I try ends up freezing, randomly restarting, and then after it restarts it will continue to bootloop showing only the white HTC screen.
My phone is s-off running the newest ICS leak. Not really sure where to go from here. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Since this isn't specific to any rom I made a new thread, feel free to move if this is the wrong area!
That's weird bro. Not sure why. I switch all the time between gb And ics Nd sense 4 with no issues. Maybe run the ruu again

OP, All you need to do is flash the firmware patch or proper kernel. Your phone is rebooting when gmail tries to sync, when you press a button that makes a noise, or when you get a notification?
It sounds like your issue is that your running a rom and firmware that don't match up. Just let me know what your firmware version is by booting to hboot with power+vol down
To the guy above that can't flash the ICS leak and doesn't have wifi, I'll help you fix it. That sounds like the kernel you installed and the roms base don't match up, like for example if someone flashed a new sense 4 rom and flashed a sense4 PH98IMG.zip from an older base that wasn't out of the newest rom.
Both of you send me a PM and I'll help you fix it.
Lte just started in my area and I'm ansy to get it going.. I am running Baseband version 1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.01.79.0331w_1 Kernel version 2.6.35.14 on cyanogen 7.1.1
Witch radios are the newest I should have and should I flash to get the best quality and lte cause I'm not picking up signal and I don't think this is up to date.. Also when you do this are you flashing two separate radios at once or individually naming then the PG05 IMG in fast boot.. And where would I download these? I tried reading a thread on it but it was too confusing. Thanks for you're advice.
You're on the latest radio already. Some people have better results with older radios as every phone is different. I am currently running the 605.9 radios because I was having data drops with the most recent radios.

Have you tried removing your battery and sim card, placing them back,
and then rebooting? This is what's generally required to reestablish the connection and update your prl, etc...might just help.

I have used that method several time and it works occasionally. I think his problem is more related to using aosp than anything. The most recent radios work pretty well with 7.2 I think that 7.1.1 just has that issue no matter what though.

Hey guys, I have a radio related question.
I'm running [SP]Jester and Liquids ROM. (Found in Newsworthy Post)
I can't seem to hold a signal.
It says 3G but its grey, rather than lit up in blue and things either load slowly or not at all.
If I turn on Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi bars light up blue and so do the 3G bars... but it goes back grey when I turn Wi-Fi back off.
I'm running the OTA radio that is recommended in the OP, which is the 2.11.605.19 radio.
Also, I've checked my settings and mobile data is turned on.
Any help, pretty please with a beard and stache on top?

Update, it dropped to 1x and lit up in blue. Now its up to 3G lit up in blue.
Wtf?

I'm not sure if they ate related but I was messing with some toggles and somehow switched my phone to cdma only mode. I just went into the 4g toggle app and switched it back to lte/cdma auto prl and that got me back to 4g.

Flash the ROM first.
If your signal isn't affected after flashing a new ROM, there is usually no need to flash another radio.
Is the baseband version 1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.01.79.0331w_1?
What ROM are you running?
Yeah, that's the baseband version I have. I'm running liquid ics know mr2v7. My signal has been ok today, but I have noticed quite a few data drops, and times where the icon says I have data, but no app can get online...

That's exactly what I am experiencing.
Also that is the 2.11.605.19 radio that has been tested with this, so I don't THINK any other radio will be worth trying.
Some people have had better luck running this ROM with the combo radio found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864157
I have yet to try the combo radio though since I haven't updated to the newest release for this ROM. I'm still running the public test... just too lazy to reset my settings right now. Lol.
If you are going to try out the combo radio, remember to take the current radio off of the root of your SD card before flashing to the new one. Either just delete it right then and there from the root, or move it into another folder off of the root.
Also, if you do try it out, let me know how it comes out for you.
Actually, if you've NEVER flashed a radio before, you most likely won't have a radio (PG05IMG.zip) file on the root of your SD card.
But if for whatever reason you do, move that file somewhere else and off of the root.
Download the new one and place it on the root.
Rename that file to PG05IMG.zip
Turn off your device.
Hold volume down and power until the bootloader loads up.
It should automatically scan for updates.
It will prompt you that there is an update.
Press volume up to update.
DO NOT POWER OFF THE DEVICE UNTIL THE UPDATE HAS COMPLETED!!
Once it has completed successfully, reboot your device and enjoy you're new radio.
[Posted directions in case you needed them]
Thanks! I was just about to post that I didn't have the zip file on my sd card. My battery is about to go, so I will try this tomorrow!

No problem.
Let me know how the combo radio works for you.
If the combo radio doesn't work as well as the current radio you have now, you can always revert back to it.
The current radio you're running is found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605557
Just follow the same steps that I gave you above.
Only difference is that you WILL have a PG05IMG.zip file on the root of your SD.
Just be sure to move it into another location that is off of the root before you change radios again.
Then follow the steps to flashing a radio that I gave you in the above post.
Good luck!

It's a good idea to move the zip to another folder or rename it after flashing the radio. Saves you from getting stuck if you can't get to recovery

I usually delete the radios .zip file once it has been flashed and tested.

At the first few replies: I had the same issues on .19, the combo leak fixed it all but takes a while to first acquire a signal. It's solid after that.

Are you currently running the most updated 605.19 stock radios?
You ARE if you go to settings, about phone, software information, more, and the baseband version reads 1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.01.79.0331w_1
If these are not the numbers you see, flash these radios from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24992678
If these are the numbers you see, then it should be working properly. If not, you may have installed an older version of Eternity. Check to make sure you flashed the most updated one.
Or the 4G in your area may be simply going in and out. Try flashing another ROM to verify this.

I'm pretty sure the LTE radios they used were from the 2.11.605.19 OTA. They may have flashed a different CDMA radio, but Idk. The leaked LTE radio causes most phones to reboot a lot.
Here's a link to the combo radios though. I suppose it never hurts to try them out... the outcome varies by phone.

I've even had luck with the old 2.11.605.9 radios.
Try them if you'd like.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396408
Just be careful flashing different radios. If you flash a bad radio, it can brick you.
Also, I was always told to never flash the same radio that is already installed. So if you flash the .9 radios and they are currently installed, don't flash them again until you flashed a different radio.
