How long has it been since you downloaded the songs to the sd card? If it was recently and you had a lot of songs it might take a while for it to populate the information. I just put the music on my external and it found it just fine but I only had about 1 GB of music

I think that is for when you are using the Motorola software, but some people like myself prefer to just manually move files over
SD card issues using vegan ginger with pershoots latest kernel. I can see files in filemanager and open photos individually but can't get the gallery to play them as a slide show or scan them and load them without going to fm. Also can't get any videos to play from micro SD.
Thanks in advance

Mysteries abound I am now able to use pictures as I thought I should just not the video yet... I made no changes that I think should have made this work.

Hi
I have my music loaded onto a 64GB card in exFAT format.
The music player picks up all my tunes fine but Music Square, no matter what I do, just says playlist empty...
Any idea what's going wrong?
Thanks
Paul

hey guys,
I realized it's only works if you store your songs in phone instead of memory card.
Please share the solution if you found it...
Thanks!!
Really? That's pretty dumb. All my music *has* to go on the SD card. -Thanks
My Music Square works well. I store my music in my 32 GB micro SD.
Go to Music Square and then press Setting the select Library Update. That's all.
You need at least 25 songs for Music Square to work.
Hey Jackie,
I have more than 25 songs and I'm using a 32 GB card too..
updated library for N times... nothing happened...
I wonder why this is happening. I have too many songs to store on the phone storage.
It's a shame it's not working

My music is saved on the sd card. I put it into /mnt/extSdCard/media and Music Square works without problems.

Tried changing the folder name to media but no joy.
What version ID3 tags do yours have?

Just just picked the first song that was played in Music Sqaure. According to foobar, the file has id3v2.3|id3v1 tags.
renaming the folder did not help..
I reformat the card and resync and it finally working again.
Did you reformat it in the S3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
not sure do you mean the initial reformat.
but I did all the reformat in S3.. now it's working and adding more songs..
hopefully it will not stop working again..
Great!
Yes that's what I meant. Mine is exFAT as standard. I don't see why though if it can see my music it can't see anything else?

Just for confirmation, which file format shall we use in order to get it to work?
exFat?

Not sure it matters as someone else had issues with a 32gb card and I doubt that was exFAT

I'm using Player Pro as my default audio player.
But sometimes when I open Player Pro, just detect the files on the phone and not on the Sd card.
This is the weird thing, because I open sound best player and the default android player and they also didn't detect the song on my sd card.
Solid explorer its showing the sd card mounted, and also I can open the files from the browser.
Any ideas? I tried to restart the phone, sometimes fix the problem, other times doesn't , looks like random for me.
Anyone facing this kind of problem?
I'm using stock firmware 4.1.2 ELL5
siyah kernel 1.8.9
And as a second rom omega 38 4.1.2 but I don't think that the second rom its messing with something.
Thanks for reading guys!

that was the first thing that i did, i guess it's my fault for not say it on the first post, but media refresh it's no fixing the problem, also use "rescan media root" but no results.
i just rooted my phone, and while exploring the folders i found 2 files that says "video" so i deleted one of them. After that i wasn't able to play any video on the stock video player. I've tried formatting my phone and downloading the stock video player but it still doesn't work..
Could anybody please help me figure out what's wrong with it
Were these files in the sd card or the system files?
