Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the configuration of the two programs in question, in practice:
VPNC 0.99, but crashes
VPNC Widget, the form asks tun.ko
I have already made the root of my device, but have not been able to add the file tun.ko.
I managed to lend a hand.
thanks

Hello
I have already unsuccessfully searched in the forum ...
i have configured in the device my exchange server email...it works everything but it is missing a device encryption which would allow me to read the email than now are completely unformatted.
I am searching for a *.p12 file but no way to find it anywhere...
As an alternative I have downloaded Secure EAS, an application which allows me to view the email perfectly well but, at the same time, downloads the full email and cannot set up 2Kb as a default....
I am getting quite crazy here...would appreciate if anybody could give me a hint...thank you guys!
Matteo, Amsterdam

Hi sweeta88
Pershoot kernel have embedded tun.ko. I use that with vpnc (free on market) and all works fine.
Give it a try, also root is needed.
oke thanks ill try and give response
so i flashed pershoots kernel installed vpnc widget and set up the connection settings and placed the widget on homescreen, but when i want to start the connection by clicking on the widget it won't do anything. Tab is rooted, the logfile of vpnc widget says something like, cannot create temporary file.... any idea?

You are right, i forget that.
If you manually create that dir in root folder everything should work correctly.
I've tried many solution but that app with this trick is the only that work.
Please tell me if for you is the same.
Thanks.

I don't know where to find the standalone module, sorry.
I've noticed that the latest update of vpnc have corrected the folder in root issue.
Everything works smooth.
Hi.
I am trying to get a VPN connection at my University.
Unfortunately, the normal VPN does not connect nor the VPNC on this website:
http://code.google.com/p/get-a-robot-vpnc/
I installed the app, but no connection is possible although the settings should be correct.
I found the tun.ko which is for tunneling in Froyo I believe.
But how do i install this?
insmod does deliver an error message:
"error inserting tun.ko: -1 Invalid module format"
I'm new to Android, but I've been trying to get OpenVPN working on my new Bionic, which also requires tun.ko. From what I've found so far, you have to have a tun.ko built for the version of the Android kernel you are using, so you can't just take any tun.ko you find and get it to work. It also looks like tun.ko is often compiled with many non stock Android builds, such as Cyanogen. I'm stuck waiting, but depending on what Android build you have, you may be able to find the right one.
android vpn
you need to fix gateway address or server address if you dont have config details then ask for it or need tutorial is here http://purevpn.com/vpn-service/android-vpn.php
Hey guys!
Following thing I have been looking for:
An app, which executes custom shell/bash scripts with a tap on a custom widget.
I've tried several apps (including Script Kitty,..) but none fits my use-case:
I want to login into my network's vpn and then login via ssh to my pc and there execute simple commands (like "shutdown" etc.) just with a tap on a custom widget.
Is something there yet or do I have to build my own little app?
Thanks for suggestions
Hi guys,
I have search over the net and xda forums, with no success. Maybe someone can help me with this.
Long story short:
While at home, I want to be able to read book from a network drive (I have all my book stored on a NAS). And I don't want to download any book on my tablet (as I will only read at home). How can I achieve that?
Thanks.
First, this is depending on the type of Network-Protokol your NAS provides.I guess that is SMB Protocol (Can a Windows PC connect to this NAS, then it is surly SMB)
The smartes way would be, your kernel would include an CIFS module, in this case you could use CifsManager (Use IP-Address to specify your NAS instead of network-name!)
If thats not possible, there are some Apps which can 'stream' a file form a NAS server w/o copiing it to your device: ES Datei Explorer
Regards Uwe
The idea of using CIFS Manager seems the right one, but the problem I have is that my kernel does not seem to have the modules installed.
So, the question is either how to install this modules or if there is a workaround.
I am interested mainly for my Galaxy Tab (P7510), but also for a Stock Huawei P1 (both rooted).
