When will cyanogenmod custom roms will have better battery lives? tested a couple of them including " the end 2.5 " , but the problem remains : faster battery drainage than the original stock gingerbread roms. haven't tested Maclaw's cm9 yet. but the framework mods and the battery tweaks recently came out are not helping quite well.
Try new cm7 by fat...battery seems better...

but now i think i should get some ics love from the Cm9 team on the occasion of Valentine's Day.

Hm, I'm using the end and i can't say I get much less battery than on stock-based ROM. I always use Cpu Tuner and JuiceDefender and there is no significant difference between GingerReal (my stock-based ROM) and The End (my current CM ROM)...
@Prashanthme: battery calibration has nothing to do with it, battery calibration is nonsense: https://plus.google.com/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT

guys, READ that article again. battery stats is used *ONLY* to keep track of power events to track what uses what to generate the blame plot, it *DOES NOT* change the % value!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not a big issue actually if u just delete the batterystat.bin either its effect the battery or not, its your choice dude...

Hello!
My sgs2 battery lasts for 5-6 hours
Im not using it that much. I play games for 30mins and thats all. I don't use it all time.
I was thinking that battery is broken so i bought another but 2000mah and it didnt help too but lasts one more hour . Im really worried.
I have mA usage widget and it sometimes shows 600mA 300mA screen off 200mA.
I've frozen all unnecesary apps.
I have kernel siyah 2.6.7
Can someone help me?
Check for wakelocks.
[APP] BetterBatteryStats adds battery history back to Gingerbread.
Thanks but i dont think it will help

Brilliant. Carry on enjoying your 5-6 hour battery life then.
very funny
It will help also have you checked what is consuming battery? Do you have data, wifi or bluetooth on?
Sent from my sgs2 running cm9 using xda app
Yes I checked everything. I have wifi bt 3g off, screen 40% in battery usage it says screen eats 70% battery and the rest is some apps 2-3%
You were given a way to possibly increase battery life from Oinky, and you dismissed what he said with "Thanks but I don't think it will help" ?
You're obviously an idiot then. And frankly, you don't deserve help at all after that.
Do you realise BetterBatteryStats is probably the best way to nail down wakelocks that can chew thru battery, once you've taken a look at the really obvious stuff ?
Clearly not.
"Some apps".
Very helpful. These apps don't have a name then? Too lazy to type them? You think we should guess?
You don't seem to want any help. You definitely don't deserve any.
Best keep your charger handy.
1. Are u using a task killer..if so don't
2. Are u rommed? It could be that theres one on x10 that ate my battery n am on a 2.6k mAh.
3. Ur kernel.. if its oc cud be a problem.
Turn mobile data, backgroud data, auto-sync and of couse your brightness, can save battery, if all this fails i suggest seeing your phone provider about it
Xperia x10i
DonutHD
DoomKernel v6
Unlocked and unbranded.. Bye bye vodafone
I would give you some help on it but I don't think you will think that would help.

I've given you your first "thanks" because you've made me laugh quite hysterically.
Hope you're battery's down to 5-6 seconds soon.
Check out a poster here who goes by the sadly inappropriate name of TheMegaStar - you two are made for each other.
Original poster seems a funny guy, don't think he wants our help.
Check for wakelocks, change your modem, try a different kernel if rooted, try a new rom if rooted, don't use any task killers.

What JJEgan wants to say (and actually says) is that there are a lot of threads considering bad battery life on ICS ROMs.
Have a look at this thread:
[REF][Rewrite 26/10] What the Android OS usage is and what it's not
It might not solve your problem, but maybe it helps to understand the issue.

Ok Im pretty confused i only use my phone for whatsapp and thats a big battery drainer need a suggesion which rom will help me i am on ics
And btw i dont like oxygen no theming
i suggest you to use gingersnap from neko its good and stable and the battery backup is very good
Try all ROMs by yourself.... you' ve just broken a forum rule: Do not ask for the best ROM.

I don't used my phone today, all applications were closed, I use taskmanagers, Adrenaline Boost and many more, but only little changes.

For those who have sharp eyes may find your battery life decreased. WHY?
Adrenaline Boost clear your system cache and your cpu will work harder to build back needed cache.
Some have reported to me that the Opera browser crash after boost when open over 3 tabs.
You system need caches to work , this boost is intended to clear old cache that are no longer using and let the system to build new cache, so if u boost it too often , your cpu will be very busy building needed caches and may consume more battery than normal !
Boost it only when it's needed then there will be no problem !

Hello Guys
My Mini Pro(sk17) is rooted and i´m using MESA Kernel(Smartass V2), i´m on stock I.C.S
I noticed that Android System is about 40, 45% on battery drain.
I´ve read a lot of things, added some lines at build.prop, but no sucess... its still about 40. 45% of my battery drain.
I´m already using 2g, screen bright very low.
I remember i checked that before flashing MESA that the android system did not drained battery like this....
Is this normal? Is there anything i can do?
I dont use any task killer, my CPU is set to 134mhz to 896MHZ( so is underclocked!).
Any help?
Thank you

I/O Scheduler has no effect on battery life.
The problem - ICS. In the ROM, there is a bug, after charging via AC(wall charger), phone's Android System uses a lot of battery. Why? It's a bug in the ROM, that we haven't found.
How to fix it? Restart after charging.
And there is already a topic about it. Use Search next time before making new topic.

Try setting your minimum CPU freq to 250MHz. It actually uses way less juice then 134MHz!
EDiT: regarding what someguyfromhell said.....
I've never experienced bigger batt drain when charged AC as opposed via USB?
I'll try to reproduce that effect though...
Hi again,
i tried that Someguyfromhell said and the same thing keeps going.... 45% of android system!!!!!!
any other advice?

Have you tried setting minimum freq to 250mhz, and changing CPU governor?
That should do it.
If not, try another kernel.

Dude,
Good sir, i kindly reccomend you should change from Man Eating Seals Of Antiquity (M.E.S.A.) and switch roms, experiment, play around, you will never get good results just by asking around, you need to figure out your own way of making battery last longer.
I miself am now trying out CM10 alpha for my Sk17i

Sandy has already installed required scripts so its not advisable to use any new scripts coz new scripts overlaps each other and cause poblems..
open init.d and build.props there are enough of them... More script doen't mean more performance...
As for battery in MIUI don't use heavy Themes.. Else battery drains 2X fast..
Battery drain scripts does nothing maybe a hour u can save thats it!!!
Coz they reduce wifi scan frequency and a lil memory management @ the cost of some performance loss..
U cannot gain more from it..
Some tips to gain get more Juice:laugh:
1.Don't use more widgets (They're good to look but drains battery a lot .. Its not a myth try urself)
2.If ur a battery freak reduce clock frequency to 800mhz from 1000mhz.. Coz for texting and calling even 600Mhz does that

Answer this question seriously brother:silly:
Have you tried all the script which u mention are waste... Did u experiment with them???
I doubt
People in XDA are not dumb guys.. they spend a lot of time researching , playing , flashing and finding a tweak/script ..
So don't just say that they're useless...
There are Original Scripts by certain XDA members such as supercharger, thunderbolt and loopy smoothness scripts
which show significant performance when used:good:
Ya as u say there are many scripts which are useless, which is nothing but copying from the original scripts and merging two to three scripts and compiling as a new script...
Try supercharger and loopy smoothness you ll find that you're judgements are wrong
