Double checked the charger (and wall outlet for that matter)? If its a USB plug try charging something else from it.

Hi,
I'm getting some problems charging my Hero. As of last night, it's stopped taking any charge when connected to the mains (with the supplied USB cable and 3pin plug usb adaptors).... although when I connect it to my laptop, it seems to charge?!
It worked with both without issue until last night... although I do typically charge it at work via usb (except weekend, hence why I only noticed it last night).
Has anyone experienced a similar issue and know of any way to fix this?
Thanks,
Brian.
I've also tried both charging methods while the fone is switched off.... and it behaves the same way.
:-(
have you tried another charger? maybe an older style HTC MiniUSB charger (if you have one), cos it sounds like your charger's died.
Did you use the same cable for both methods (the supplied one with mains adaptor) if you did and it worked via pc/laptop then you would guess the mains adaptor has died.
I would say that your charger is dead. Power supplies on them blow sometimes, maybe from power surges, maybe they're just made poorly.
Try another charger.
Try unclipping and reclipping the pin plate. The interchangeable pins sometimes come loose.
Hi everyone, hope someone can advise.
I have a UK TG01 and it works ok but overnight it wont charge from the mains charger but it charges via usb.
I have tried different chargers and an old HTC mini usb charger with a mini to micro adapter fitted but its still the same.
I have the Mugen 1300Mha battery but its the same with the standard battery on all chargers.
I have cleaned out both the charger plug and the socket on my TG01 just in case of dust but no good it only charges via usb.
I have hard reset and flashed the standard UK Orange rom but this makes no difference.
Does anyone know whats going on? it was fine, no changes or software loaded and one day its fine and the next day it wont charge??
Any advice would be gratefully received, thanks for reading.
Faulty USB sockets i think try send it back to Toshiba for warranty repair.
Not sure about that as my TG01 does charge if I plug it into my laptop, this would suggest the socket is ok?
I believe that the charger is faulty, try a new micro usb charger, or try another socket

Agreed. As the TG01 is charging via USB, then there is most unlikely to be an issue with the uUSB socket on the phone.
To tell the TG01 to go into charging mode, the uUSB connector on the charger must have the two data pins shorted out. This is the equivalent effect to connecting to a host laptop or PC when connected via a USB sync and charge cable.
If you have a non-standard charger or are using an adapter from eg. mini-USB to uUSB it is very likely that this will not be implemented.
A few questions...
- Are you trying with the supplied Toshiba charger ?
- If so did it work OK with this before but not now ? [likely duff charger]
- If a 3rd part charger, again has it ever worked ? [if not then probably missing the required pin config]
Hope that is of some help.
Hi Kevin, its a genuine Toshiba charger and I have been using it since day one.
I took my charger into work today and tried a friends Nokia micro usb charger and that worked first time so duff charger.
No, I asked him to try my Toshiba charger and that also worked
So I assume my original charger possibly may not be 'shorting' correctly or presenting exactly the right resistance to the TG01 or possibly my TG01 is getting a little fussy about how it charges.
Anyway I have ordered a genuine Nokia charger from ebay and fingers crossed all should be well and thanks for all the advice everyone.
I have one of those stupid cig charger I hooked my dell to it and now my phone wont do anything it just vibrates when I push the on button I bought another battery but it still doing the same thing.... anyone can HELP please !!
Have you tried charging it with the wall charger?
If your battery goes completely dead then it has to be charged via a mains adapter and not pc or car adapter USB.
Hi!
I plug the AC cabel on the phone, but its don't charging.
What can I do? If the LCD is turned off, after I plug the AC on the phone its waking up, but don't charging.:S
I use RSPL. I try every Mango rom, but the phone is not charging.
Please help,
Probably this is not software problem. Does it charging by PC? Chek the device usb connector with flex cable.
Hi, i use original HTC cable. The device isn't charging. The flashlight isn't secular. With 7714 rom charging with ac and pc.
From what I read in the manual, USB charging should work for the tablet, but not the dock? When I have USB plugged in (to either a PC or an ipad charger) there is no indication of charging (but USB connected shows in system Panel)
Is this normal?
That's normal for the original Transformer and does agree with the Prime manual the way I interpret it.
Are you trying a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port? It may charge from a USB 3.0 port, which is what the charger's USB port is. I've never tried charging from a USB 3.0 port, in spite of actually having a new PC here with one.
My charging setup is to have the ASUS charger plugged in to a power strip, I then have a six foot USB 3.0 cable extension, then the standard short ASUS USB 3.0 to 40-pin tablet cable. This works great.
Bye.

mine will not charge from just USB either I have to use the power brick that came with it.
ok, I hadn't realised the port was usb3. Makes sense, even if it is a little annoying to have to always have the charger (like if I want to charge in the car)
Are there any car chargers that would work with the Prime?
