Hi All,
First post here so please be gentle.
I have an Xperia Mini Pro (Model U20i) and I'd like to install CyanogenMod.
I've been trying to follow the instructions here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Mini_Pro:_Full_Update_Guide
Before attempting to install CyanogenMod I successfully installed ClockWorkMod.
My problem is that I can't work out how to unlock the bootloader.
When I try to get into the service menu using *#*#7378423#*#* nothing happens. However pressing "Home, Back, Back, Home, Back, Home, Home, Back." I can get to a menu that provides some information.
I'm running the latest firmware (installed using the Sony Ericsson software) - 2.1-update1.
Any ideas what I can do next to unlock the bootloader?
Thanks,
Danny

Hello all.First of all I would like to thank all the xda developers whos always hard at work improving our cell phones with bunch of cool programs
Im a complete noob at all this but with your instructions I managed to install GINGERDX on my Sony xperia mini 10a (american version)
Now my problem is my wifi could not find a network now after upgrading my rom. I was able to use my own network when Im here at home when I was running 2.1 on factory xperia
Is there a way to revert back to factory 2.1 like if it came stock on the mini 10 or before I upgraded to Gingerdx?
I might be selling the phone and just wanna make sure that I can downgrade it back to 2.1
Another thing that concerns me is that using my pc companion now when I plug in the phone it doesnt give me the option like charge phone and theres few more options on the screen and cant remember now..lol
Also when I look at the Phones info it says X8 on the model number ,could this be that I downloaded GINGERDX for X8 or both X8 and X10 share the same platform?
Any help is greatly appreciated guys
Thanks in Advance

Hi
If you're talking about the x10 mini, this might be the wrong forum...
Anyway, you could try the repair option using SEUS.
Good luck!

Bricked after attempt to install CM9
I tried to install CM9 to SE Xperia X10 mini pro, I was doing by this article ( ht_p://blog.mx17.net/2012/08/14/how-to-install-android-ice-cream-sandwich-ics-on-xperia-x10-mini-pro )
After running msm7227_semc.sh ( which I changed a bit instead dos2unix I put tr -d "\r" ) here is code ( ht_p://pastebin.com/Dfp7bDb6 )
It stopped on log record 'Done, reboot, please wait'
After it the device has not any reaction, it's turned off.
Next It I tried PC Companion ( from VirtualBox ) and It didn't detect the device.
Flashtool didn't detect device either (in Linux)
I read other topics about bricked device but in most cases phone shows something at display atleast.
So is there any solutions to fix it somehow?
Firmware: 2.1.1.A.0.6
P/N: 1237-6807
Try Sony Update Service to reflash Stock Rom. And this is section for X10i. For your x10 mini pro you have specific section under XDA forum.

Try this. Run Sony mobile update serviceand turn off your phone. Hold back button and plug in usb cable. When update service detect your phone, release back button and follow instructions to the end

It's most popular answer.
I did it as you wrote. But the phone is not detected. May be similar case is there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34820784&postcount=6
Have you read this? It's X8 thread, but it should apply to X10 mini/mini pro too. If your manufacturing date is later that 11W29 then most probably your device is hardbricked and only way to repair it is to send it to Sony Service Centre.

Were you able to fix it?
My gf's x10 mini pro has teh same problem.
I see many posts, but no solutions.
My guess is that it's hardware related.
Best regards,
UltimateGeppie
Sony Update
If you did the Sony Update thing and it didn't work, if the phone doesn't charge by any way, then it's hardware problem for sure and the only way is to send it to sony ericksson for repairing.
Hello everyone, albeit I have a substantial experience with Samsung Galaxy devices, I am new to the world of Sony (Ericsson) Xperia devices in the Android universe.
:silly:
A friend of mine has entrusted with me his Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, to eventually root the device and consequently flash various compatible firmwares, albeit there is seemingly a glitch with his device which I will mention below.
I intend on discussing my queries related to the aforementioned device within this single thread, rather than create separate threads for multiple queries.
Coming to the glitch with my friend's device, after it is powered on, the Sony Ericsson logo keeps reappearing, and this I presume is a bootloop, right? Thus, I thought I will try and attempt to get it working by flashing a stock firmware using Flashtool. But before I begin, I have a few basic queries pertaining to stock firmwares.
How do I identify which country's/region's firmware is existent on the device?
Can I use a stock firmware of any country/region I desire? If so, am I correct to believe it would have to be a generic kit and not a branded one?
The device details of my friend's Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 are as follows -
Model Number: X10i
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: 2.1.71
Build Number: 3.0.1.G.0.75
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537

I await your knowledgeable responses, and I thank you for your patience with my naivety!
Hello Friends, as I described in my initial post, my friend's device is stuck on the Sony Ericsson logo. His device was never previously rooted or flashed.
I am up to try my best with your expertise of course, to revive his device and make it usable again. Hence, I have downloaded the X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_GLOBAL-GGL_GENERIC_1232-9897 stock firmware from the [Completed]X10 Stock Firmware Collection thread by THeLogiC, and have also successfully installed Flashtool 0.9.10.1.
I am following the [25NOV][FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies - G-FACE GUIDE thread by Crowds in order to flash the stock firmware, but I seem to have hit a roadblock. When I launch Flashtool, there is no indication of Connected device: as is depicted in the aforementioned guide. I have attached a screenshot of my current working with Flashtool.
I humbly plead for your help.
It says usb debugging us turned off this needs to be turned on but the phone wont boot up past SE logo right? Try repairing the phone with PC conpanion from sony there might be a link for it on here somewhere if not try looking for SEUS software to try a repair the phone

I tried the repair function via PC Companion, but for some reason the update failed and now the device does not even power on.
:crying:
Has the device become a proverbial paper weight?

I apologise for my very "noobish" behaviour! It turned out, the battery charge of the device had exhausted whilst performing the repair via PC Companion.
I charged the device to full capacity and executed the Sony Update Service, which successfully revived the device and made it progress beyond the boot animation. After that, I successfully flashed the Global Generic stock firmware and rooted the device via Flashtool.
I do have perhaps, another naive query! How do I ascertain that the bootloader of the device is locked/unlocked?
:silly:
I humbly await your expertise.
I think you need to use s1tool to check it not 100% sure though if its a capital R its locked and if its a small r then its unlocked I think search on the forum for it plus threes guides for unlocking bootloader aswell if needed
