I have this weird problem on my Galaxy Tab. It seems like water is under the screen and I cannot get it out. I have put rice on it and left it in a box to see if it goes away but don't think it did anything. Now I have no idea how water got in there and believe it never even was dropped it water at all. Although other people do use the tablet and sometimes little kids. Any idea how to get rid of it

It's a long stretch, however you could try placing it in a sealable bag with some silica gel.
Otherwise, you're looking at dismantling the tab to check for internal damage.
I had this issue and ended up sending it in for repairs. They replaced the tab so I presume it is not easily fixed. Sorry
I've saw posts saying that putting the Tab in a fridge for a while would help with this problem - but even if that usually does work, I don't think it would work with a slick that big.
Best bet would be to send it in for repairs (you have warranty right?) - they'll most probably replace the tab with one that has a newer screen, where these defects supposedly don't happen (or happen very rarely).
I was hoping I wouldn't have to send it in. I don't believe I have the receipt anymore, would they care? I believe almost every company would ask for a receipt for warranty repairs but this tablet hasn't even been out for a whole year yet so I hope they will let me send it in. Also my tablet is rooted, should I unroot it, and if I had to unroot it what would be the easiest way?
I feel your pain. I only had mine fore a few days before it got sent away for a few weeks.
Yeah unroot it. And keep all your reciepts!
ha! there used to be 20-30 threads around here about this; sadly we have no forum moderation so I don't even blame people if they can't find it by searching. It's not water; caused by pressure on the back of the LCD. Search these forums for "newton's rings." This was a problem for a large percentage of the first run of the GT10.1. Most of us sent them in to Samsung and had them repaired. They know about the problem and won't question you at all. Like I said, search the forums for newton's rings and you'll find hundreds of answers.
My suggestion is to send it in to samsung (search to figure out how people did it). It doesn't affect the use of the tab, but it will affect resale value... It only took them about 2 weeks from the day I put it in the mail to the day I got it back. And yes: make a nandroid backup and then unroot and go back to stock before you send it in. When you get it back, it's as simple as installing CWM and then just flash the nandroid. (you can search for answers to how to do that, however. Or look in the dev section).
It's not water. Here's the really long discussion thread:

I sent mine back to Verizon (I have the LTE 4G version) and got a replacement.

Has anyone had any success getting a replacement device out of Dell after having a bad LCD? (not dropped just defective) or any issue for that matter?
Just got my streak through work friday and within 2-3hrs noticed a few bad pixels in one corner. Over the weekend they seem to have been bleeding and have spread to 2x the size of the notification bar so far.
The device has definately not been dropped, mashed, on squeezed or anything similar. The LCD and Glass are NOT cracked.
Anyway, like I said, got it though my work, they area a very large OEM Dell customer (got a batch of Streaks direct from Dell). We even have access to warranty parts direct and whatnot. So yea, do they even replace these things? Anyone have any ideas as to how to approach this since it's obviously a defective device? How long does it take if they even do replace it? Thanks!
It's clearly defective, you've had it for only a few days and it shows no signs of damage. Call DELL or whoever is handling that type of situation at your company. You should've tried that before asking.
I called them today. They are doing advanced replacement RMA. I asked here first because upon searching I had found several people who had issues getting service with defective/broken LCD's, Didn't know if there was anything specific I would need to do in order to be successful and not denied for causing damage (not the case) like others had
Heres some pics of what the screen is doing. It stated as a spec in the bottom left corner and has been growing daily.

The top earpeice bezel is poorly attached and coming loose.
I also noticed scratches all over the factory screen sticky cover when I opened the phone. I really really think this thing was a refurb...
Anyway, did advanced RMA. Hoping the replacement unit does not have similar problems.
Just updating this for future reference if anyone has questions about the process.
I got the replacement device within 4 business days of request. The replacement was obviously a refurb and has blatant damage on the back panel. It appears someone tried to remove the battery cover forcefully with some sort of tool. Also, the charge/data port is faulty and causes constant battery/charger errors to appear.
So in summary, yes, you can get a replacement device so long as there is no blatant user induced damage on the original device. But you WILL get a refurb, and evidently their QC is not the best, so good luck getting a good replacement. They are sending me a 2nd replacement, hoping for the best, but not expecting much at this point =/
They told me that they would send you a new replacement if you're within 21 days of delivery of the original phone.
Hey guys, this morning my phone's screen started acting up when I was using the browser and later when I was using the keyboard, certain letters wouldn't work. I then got Touch Test from the market to see what was wrong with it, and I found that taps along the center line dividing the screen left and right did not register properly. I applied some pressure to that part of the screen and saw rainbow patterns beneath the digitizer on the LCD screen. When I pressed elsewhere though, no patterns appeared. So I am wondering if my Atrix has a loose digitizer and whether replacing the digitizer would fix the issue.
Thanks!
well, if you would have searched, you have found that there are already at least a couple of threads for this same topic. Now there is another one. You probably have a bad microprocessor for the touch screen. Search and you will even find some very helpful pics that show what is involved in swapping out the digitizer.
Thanks for the input but I did go through a search and had I found posts where the ops who reported the issue had actually resolved the problem, I wouldn't be posting here... also I'm not here asking for instructions to swap the digitizer because I can YouTube it, I'm here to ask if people who had similar issues before were able to fix the problem by replacing the digitizer...
But then again, I guess its easier to assume that all thread starters haven't done the research and just tell them to do a search everytime.
I just had the same issue, and actually in the same location on the middle of the screen. Since I'd unlocked & rooted the thing, I figured I had voided my warranty and wouldn't be able to get a replacement, so I bought a replacement digitizer to do it myself. After 2+ hours of work, the screen ended up being more dead than before. Digitizer replacement isn't easy, I'll tell you that.
So instead I flashed a fruit cake, took it to the local AT&T store with a repair/warranty center, and they replaced it on the spot. It's a known issue for the phone, so they didn't bat an eye.
Hell, I didn't even buy the thing from AT&T in the first place (got a better price at Walmart), and they still took it, no questions asked.
So if you're on AT&T, try a repair center. If you're not in the US... maybe your carrier will do the same? Hard to guess.
I didn't think warranty from att was still effective so i did an rma for motorola. They take 5-7 days, leaving me without a phone . Called att &have it was still under warranty and there is a service center in Tampa. Did the repair order on phone, took unlocked phone there and they swapped it out. Get home tofind the phone does not see the sd card. Called att back and squeeled like a stuck pig. They mailed me a replaicment. The screen is not set good and get a little bleed from the lower left corner of screen. Havent decided wether to keep it or not. Lousey quality control.
That's what i think too .

So I broke the glass on my HTC Rezound, I just finished replaceing the glass, and Im putting it all together again, but I found these two metal clips that i didnt notice when I was taking it apart. They are preventing me from putting the back back on the phone.
Here are pictures. (replace xxxx with you know what.)
i282.photobucketxxxx/albums/kk264/thchamp3/2012-06-09_17-10-41_961.jpg
This is the underside of the motherboard directly under were they are.
i282.photobucketxxxx/albums/kk264/thchamp3/2012-06-09_17-13-13_964.jpg
It would seem like they are supposed to be bent down so they go under the motherboard and make contact with those two metal pad things, but I know metal breaks easily when bent and I want to make sure first.
Thanks.
Bump, Please help. I'm sitting her with a half assymballed phone.

Sorry, I was just trying to get my phone back together.
I should have taken pictures of it before I took it apart. I think I got everything working at this point though.
I just bend them down enough to put the cover back on, I figured that if they were for the lights on the top i could test and see if those were working later, and wouldnt have to risk breaking them by bending them. As of now my phone is working fine I havent tested all the lights yet.

I think those are for the speaker for the ear. I could be wrong. I am pretty sure the few times I have taken my phone apart though they are supposed to be that way. Bent down that is.
EDIT: Decided to find the thread for you, that someone posted of internal pictures of the Rezound. He has this shot, which shows them bent down.

Original Thread is Here
I felt I needed to share what problems I had with a seller on ebay.
I purchased a second hand CAT B15 "mint condition". When i received the phone it come in a un-formatted state with all the previous contacts and messages and even email still intact.
I browsed through a few messages out of curiosity, common who wouldn't?. It was interesting at the time because the message indicated that he was pissed off with his new phone and wanted his kids to look at it, I also felt sorry for him because his phone was full of those late night TV porn text numbers you text for porn and pay £3 over and over and get ripped off. who does that? anyway I felt pity and just formatted everything.
later that day I went to put a new sim in there, and there was a micro SIM adapter in the slot. i tried to remove carefully but it was stuck. I didn't force it as I could see what the problem was. The microSIM adapter has a opening in it, as im sure all of you know, once you put it in without a sim in it, its stuck in there and traps the pins.
I used a cut up beer can and some pins to carefully remove it from the phone, happy I did not force or break any of the pins.
When I tried to install my sim, I discovered the pins had been badly twisted and bent. FROM the person who sold it on Ebay not by me.
I tried to call him out on his bull**** but he played it cool and just pretended he put it back in for the next person. I guess he was hoping the new person would make the same mistake as him and think they damaged it when trying to remove it.
I looked at his previous listings and he had bad feedback for selling a fake watch for 1900 pounds.
Anyway. I launched a dispute and Ebay ultimately sided with him based on the fact that I removed the microSIM and was therefor not in the same condition in which is was sent. Their logic does not go as far to think that I had to remove it to discover that he had damaged it in the first place. Jacky Bush at ebay was the person who sided with him on this.
Moral of the story, If you put a phone on ebay that you damaged yourself and leave the micoSIM adapter inside it, you can claim it was them and ebay will agree with you..
Determined not to let him win. I opened up the phone and managed to repair it. Heres the pictures.

Sorry for reopening this threat but you the only person i found who opened a B15.
I just want to ask if you had any problems with the back cover screws.
I sent my phone for repair and when they returned it the plastic for the screws was broken
Is this something like tamper protection for warranty ?
I have noticed , my LG G5 have problem with screen ghosting/burn-in
Here is the problem i have found

can fix this issue without changing screen ?
This issue is fairly new but it happened to me last night. Might be a software issue but I told verizon warranty techs last night about the issue and they suggested a few things before sending me a replacement. Hopefully this will get resolved.
So the screen issue is under warranty, but LG wants a few things done. Call your carriers warranty and see what they say about the issue. Verizon wants me to do 4 things before issuing a warranty phone.
Do you opened your phone for any reason ? I was also having same type of blue spot at the lower right corner after I replaced camera lens. In my case i think it happens due to over pressure on the screen from behind by back cover or something else. So i loose the screws at the bottom of the screen. Due this 60 percent of blue spot fade away.
ok, this issue is known! You can find more informations about at other threads and forums.
See here for LG G5 German forum -> http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/displayflecken-nach-langem-aktiv-sein.790992/page-3
(sorry, but it is only available in German! Please translate by using Google!)
and of curse:
here for new display: ->https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/panel-vs-panel-series-t3480270
here for V10: -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/help/ghost-images-screen-image-retention-t3395732
here for G4:- > https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/screen-ghosting-lg-g4-t3451879
Suggested solution:
As i know, all you can do against that until now is to install the following app to prevent this problem:
-> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sisomobile.android.brightness_lite
switch "opacity" up to 15% and selected colour to "black"! That’s it!
But it couldn’t help, if your display IS affected!
As i have read in the German forum, there are two user they tried to use here warranty but LG has not accepted until now.
BTW: This issue is found on G5 devices they where produced in 3->5 / 2016. Newer devices have a new display without this problem but taking more battery power for it. And V10 and G4 seems to be also affected.
You can see the production date at your serial number! The first number is standing for the production year. The second and third number are standing for the month.
So, you are not alone!
Actually they are doing a warranty replacement, both LG and Verizon for this issue. Getting replacement phone tomorrow.
This will only occasionally be repaired under warranty. It is a normal behavior for LCD screens. There are already 2 threads covering this issue extensively. Please use the search function the next time.
You can find working solutions in the other threads.
Btw LCDs can't have burn in. It is image retention as it can fade away and is non permanent opposite to burn in
There are other threads regarding this topic. Please search before posting.
