i was planning to trade in my x10 for either neo or neo v with additional RM300 max.
Reason to change
1. crappy dual touch. while typing msg, often miss out the point
2. i am gamer as well, the lack of true multi-touch is annoying.
3. the ridiculous above of RAM, no offence to anyone.
So, i was wondering is it wise to trade in my x10 for neo/neo v.
the price for neo/neo v is approximately RM880/RM780
Have you checked the spec? If its better than x10 than go for it.. But try checking at the neo forum is there any compatible ROM or tweak that can make it awesome =) hope this helps
Wolfbreaks ROM with DoomLord Kernel = Awesome =)
Is the neo this smaller phone? What screen size does it have?

yes i have checked it. the spec are abit better than x10. double ram, front camera, a slightly not too outdate chipset, higher ppi and upgradable to 4.0

should give details on neov and x10
Basically its Arc hardware with a Front facing camera and a bit smaller
It plays all gameloft games and have true dual touch+ics
and doesn't lag

I was wondering if this would be a good trade. I am currently running Miui on my Captivate and its all tweaked out...but I just want to know if the ease and customization of rooting/modding/etc compares to that of the Captivate. Pretty much I just wanna know the pro's and cons of the phone first hand from daily users/flashers...as well as average resale of the phone. I love my Captivate but I think it would be cool to have something new to play with until the SGSII is released...thanks in advance!!!
The biggest con is the dual touch is buggy so it sucks for games..
Also there isn't much development compared to other android phones.
I appreciate your response. I enjoy hacking/and modding...I looked at the dev thread earlier and concluded the same...still might give it a shot though..
Miui 1.8.5 w/V6 Ram script, 3g Booster & Kick Ass Kernel Tweaks
Noooooo!!!!!!
dual touch sucks.
gpu very weaker than captivate.

hey well you would have the ipod touch for games...
it is a decent phone, and from the sounds of things the bootloader might be unlocked very shortly!
Like I said, just be aware of the small issues, but I mean it looks nice and as long as you are informed and still feel up to it, then I say go for it.
I use my phone probably more than my laptop...but you do make a good point about having the touch. The other thing is like I said I'm gonna buy a SGSII when it is released so I could just resell them both and that would pay for my SGSII in itself...thanks you guys I really appreciate your responses...

Bull****..
You didn't make the dual touch any better than any other..
It would still be equally buggy.

you can't....
if you did that would be the single biggest discovery in the x10s history.
It still has the cross axis bug, try any gameloft games you'll see what I mean.
here is a video of the bug: (it shows it near the end)
im using htc legend , now someone offering me xperia x10 2.3 ?? so plzz suggest me
dude... you can start by comparing specs... deal or no deal is up to you...
Yep what he said^ its your choice and you should be doing the comparison.
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_legend-3141.php
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_x10-2964.php
From what I see clearly Xperia x10 is better with the better 1Ghz processor, 8MP camera and as you say Android 2.3. The only thing I can think of you'll miss is the slick HTC Sense but at the end the choice is up to you.
3d games and music ??which phone performe better ?
I haven't had a go on the Xperia X10. But looking through the specification list of both phones and with Legend and Xperia X10 having the same Adreno 200 CPU according to GSMArena while the Legend has 600 Mhz processor and Xperia X10 having a fast 1Ghz processor. In theory Xperia X10 would have better 3D game play.
With Sound quality I'm not too sure, GSMArena has this table for sound quality:
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_x10-review-463p5.php#aq
and what about display ??? i think htc AMOLED is better ?? is there a huge difference in display ? clarity ?
Reading your thread reminds me the last time why I choose legend. I think its about our mono frame. The world first phone with mono frame. I got stuck with the option on getting a legend and a desire. But I still chose legend because of her sexy frame and It's pocket friendly. But there are times when I need more processing power, my legend can't give me. When I'm playing action games. I lost because of It's stupid dual touch.
To me, my legend ... she is like a wife that's hot. But what can you do. In someways she's stupid. But else she is does it fine and smooth.
I'll get another better one in the future but my legend will always be with me forever.

http://geekaphone.com/compare/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-neo-V-vs-Motorola-MILESTONE-2
Look at this ,he just only win at storage, and keyboard..
Neo V -Better battery
-Have secondary camera
-126 G ,vs 169G(milestone 2)
-More faster connection
-Wi-fi hotspot
-HDMI connection
-Neo V comes with Gingerbread and have official 4.0.4 update at ICS , milestone 2 come with froyo
and more look at that link .
My personal opinion is that Neo V is better than Milestone 2, but if you use that QWERTY keyboard so much, then Milestone 2 is for you .
Then why is Neo V a runner up in the link which u've provided ??.. build quality - Neo V is purly a plastic phone..
The back/home other buttons are very elegant.. other points yes,but every site which I see - recommends Milestone 2. That's why i'm a bit confused..
With Google rolling out ICS, get a phone that can be upgraded to ICS. For gamming it could be better the larger internal memory in the motorola phone, rooting the neo and using a program like link2sd will solve the memory problem in the neo but if you want the phone for gamming then get a dual core phone.
Personally I would choose the neo over the motorola but right now I will not buy any of them, I will rather get the xperia p or similar.
Sent from my MT15i using XDA
Dont buy Neo the phone sucks with gaming and games closes randomly because the small amount of free RAM!!
wow.. the above post is the 1st bad review i've read soo far.. phone arena's users've given it a 9.7/10 ... anyhow.. from the the survey's and reviews that i've read.. for a noob android user,Neo V's the choice.. so,bought that..
Thanks to all who's replied.. Helped in making my decision..
get an Xperia Pro. It's Neo with Milestone stuffs. Except the internal storage.
is it worth the upgrade from xperia active to xperia go ? main difference is 8 gigs internal memory, dual core, 3.5 inch screen... but still no front facing camera and ram is still 512...

i am not so sure with the price.. but gsmarena said that it is a little bit expensive than sola.. so I guess close, if not, a little bit more than 300 usd..
i am interested on upgrading but i am just curious if it is really worth it.. is the dual core really a big difference in terms of performance or not, is the battery life really better even if it now has a bigger screen than the active... etc... all of this base on specs...
thanks...

HEY OUR GREAT DEVELOPERS FOR THE LEGENDARY SONY ERICSSON XPERIA X10
As you know, days ago. Google has shown the Android 4.3 ... I Hope We will see Android 4.3, which is faster and stable than 4.2, in our great Xperia X10. Don't forget Xperia X10 was the First Sony with Android System, so Let's start a new project in this Amazing Smartphone ... It doesn't matter if the first Rom 4.3 for Xperia X10 is Google Edition, CM, AOSP ... Stock (lol) jaja ... Xperia X10 NEVER DIES
Thanks a lot
that may refer to tof37 or achotjan would like to work on it?
Of couse they would like to work on it ...
IT'S ALL ABOUT X10 NEVER DIES ... SO LET'S WAIT OUR GREAT DEVELOPERS CREATE A ROM 4.3 FOR XPERIA X10
It is hard to know what the thoughts of people are when they say they want Android 4.3 on an XPERIA X10i
I'm all for keeping the XPERIA X10i alive, but Android 4.3 would be in name only and a bit of eye candy.
OpenGL ES 3.0 is NEVER going to run on an Adreno 200 natively and even if you emulate OpenGL ES 3.0 in software, it's not going to improve the XPERIA X10i in any way as an OpenGL ES 3.0 game is hardly going to run on a 1GHz processor with 385MB RAM.
The 2D graphics'll never run a 720p Video in HW accelerated mode in anything other than GB 2.3.3 ‡
USB will only be for charging/PC data connection.
No Miracast, no Wi-Fi Direct, no OTG, no MHL, no BT 3.0+HS, no Dolby 5.1 audio, no 802.11n AND we only have 385MB of RAM
Personally I'd suggest developers harden Android 4.1,2 and see what more can be done to improve the Adreno 200 and overall stability/compatibility.
Now this in itself is no small ask as Qualcomm didn't (to my knowledge) release any Adreno 200 drivers for anything above GB 2.3.3
I'd like to see the XPERIA X10i live a full and rich life at Android 4.1.2 with a great GPU, rather than a desperate and reckless life beyond that.
The XPERIA X10i will truly live on when someone creates HW acceleration in the Adreno 200 above 2.3.3 ‡
‡ - I have not checked FeraVolt new Adreno mods

Disappointed? I can't think why.
I use my XPERIA X10i v2.3.3 daily
1800mAh battery (1-5 days)
64GB SanDisk
Samba Filesharing allowing file sharing of 64GB microSD card
I have Link2SD on second partition
54 FPS 2D Graphics
DoomKernel clocked at ~1.15GHz
XPERIA S feature set with weather widget, screen print and etc
Stream Music(Neutron MP) and Videos(BSPlayer) from my NAS,
Watch live TV streamed from my NAS.
Generally 80MB RAM free operationally
XDA Developers will continue to improve the Android experience on the XPERIA X10i and for those still using this almost iconic device, there is much to look forward to. There is no reason to think there won't be improvements for the XPERIA X10i in the future. It may be components of Android 4.3 or some other version, but at the end of the day, it's all good.

Nothing to explain. It's a 64GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I, re-fromated to FAT32 with a cluster size of 32KB.
I've also used 32GB SankDisk cards without problems.
The Sony Ericsson X10i white paper states a 32GB microSD card is supported on an XPERIA X10i. (Revision 5 Sept 2010)
I suggest you open a Question & Answer post regarding your 32GB microSD card and find out where you went wrong or if the card is faulty/fake.
Google Play Link2SD then Google Link2SD as there's mountains of information on configuration options and partition tools to do it.
DoomKernel is one of many Kernels that provides 'robust' support for overclocking and additional features.
I use it because it supports my requirements, not because it's better or worse than any other Kernel.
Doom kernel make my phone lag, no matter what stock base rom or even stock rom

It has a lot, I think that I was so foolish to put the same apps in system and data ... IMHO: There is a flaw in the way your thinking.
x10 isn't a low end device (it was the flagship of SonyEricsson), but in 2013 it merely has become an old device.
It has good specs, but only if you compare it to similair devices in the year 2009/2010.
Android 4.4 has been made for devices with lower specs, but that does not mean that x10 is fully supported.
In other words: 4.4. can run on devices with lower RAM and CPU, but it still needs drivers...
Because x10 is an old device, i'm not sure if there are any driver to use.
Kind regards.
