i was planning to trade in my x10 for either neo or neo v with additional RM300 max.
Reason to change
1. crappy dual touch. while typing msg, often miss out the point
2. i am gamer as well, the lack of true multi-touch is annoying.
3. the ridiculous above of RAM, no offence to anyone.
So, i was wondering is it wise to trade in my x10 for neo/neo v.
the price for neo/neo v is approximately RM880/RM780
Have you checked the spec? If its better than x10 than go for it.. But try checking at the neo forum is there any compatible ROM or tweak that can make it awesome =) hope this helps
Wolfbreaks ROM with DoomLord Kernel = Awesome =)
Is the neo this smaller phone? What screen size does it have?

yes i have checked it. the spec are abit better than x10. double ram, front camera, a slightly not too outdate chipset, higher ppi and upgradable to 4.0

If thats the case.. Than go for it! Make sure you know how to root and flash rom etc.. Enjoy your phone

should give details on neov and x10
Basically its Arc hardware with a Front facing camera and a bit smaller
It plays all gameloft games and have true dual touch+ics
and doesn't lag
So I noticed that a lot of underpowered devices have miniCM10 and some CM10, and are recieving JellyBean,
So I wanted to ask what is it that my device (Xperia Sola) or for now any of this forum's devices, haven't recieved jelly bean?
I mean, other than official. For Example My old device, which i now half way regret of changing (Xperia X8) although it is single core 800mHz low range phone already has miniCM10 while we are stuck with CM9? I mean, Why? Why do low range phones get what we should get Officially Cause, The X8 was launched with android 1.6 and stopped at android 2.1 (Officialy) And now is running Android 4.1?
Besides, Whats with the Sony forum post where they say Xperia Go has some combination that Xperia Sola And Xperia U Dont have...
It kinda makes me want to trade back. I still have faith in my new phone, but... Starting to lose it slowly...
Any Explanation would be welcomed.
P.S.
I know it seems like a noob Q, and I don't underestimate the dev's effort or accomplishments, but just thinking that if a small 3 inch 800Mhz low range phone can run Jelly bean, why can't ours run it too?
(Xperia Go already has Jelly Bean rom, So does SGSIII Mini (Launched with it) So why cant we port them to each other?)
Those phones are based on qualcomm process and all sources for development of cm10 are available for them
U sola go p are based on a new novathor chipset and sources for jb are not present
So thats why we have an ALMOST STABLE cm9 bt no cm10
Regarding sony's decision of not upgrading u n sola bt upgrading p and go
P has 1gb ram
Go has less no of pixels favoring smooth running of jb
Bt this not justifies how xperia j can run jb smoothly
Have some patience my friend
Fxp said that they will start wid cm10 soon
just wondering how the xperia x10 mini has a bug free cm10 with camcorder too also a 2.6.32 kernel and the x10 has not ??
isnt our x10 is little better in hardware than the x10 mini ??
XPERIA Mini ST15i was considerably better equipped than the XPERIA X10i given it also had a 1GHz CPU (different chipset) and an Adreno 205 GPU. So nothing like an XPERIA X10i
Above is probably the XPERIA mini you are referring too, .
Then there was the XPERIA mini E10i which had a 600MHz CPU using a MSM7227chipset and an Adreno 200 GPU and I'm not sure the firmware from Sony got beyond Android v2.2
This would probably be wallowing in the same tar pit below the XPERIA X10i, given the limitation on the CPU/GPU combination and 128MB internal memory.
XPERIA mini E10i had a 5MP camera whereas the XPERIA X10i had a 8.1MP camera and thus, probably had different fw/sw and/or needed a different approach to support the camera.[citation needed]
thanks for replying, i was just making a search about this and accidentally entered the x10 mini section :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=726
and saw all what i wrote above .... i know that is not easy for devs to do, its very hard and complicated, but im just dreaming to see our X10 running a full functional cm10
So ... gonna wake up now
X10 mini ,x10mini pro & x8 are super popular (form Sony)& guess what ? They got the same hardware...
That's why there are tons of ROMs for them ,there a developer in xda who is known as "nobodyAtall" ... he cooked cm 6,7,9,10 kernel + ROM for those devices & that's why he's so professional!
And about camcorder : it's not real hw coding/ decoding because Qualcomm won't release source codes... but there's always a back door & that's the point... search for cm10 hw coding/ decoding & you can have camera & camcorder on cm9/10

HEY OUR GREAT DEVELOPERS FOR THE LEGENDARY SONY ERICSSON XPERIA X10
As you know, days ago. Google has shown the Android 4.3 ... I Hope We will see Android 4.3, which is faster and stable than 4.2, in our great Xperia X10. Don't forget Xperia X10 was the First Sony with Android System, so Let's start a new project in this Amazing Smartphone ... It doesn't matter if the first Rom 4.3 for Xperia X10 is Google Edition, CM, AOSP ... Stock (lol) jaja ... Xperia X10 NEVER DIES
Thanks a lot
that may refer to tof37 or achotjan would like to work on it?
Of couse they would like to work on it ...
IT'S ALL ABOUT X10 NEVER DIES ... SO LET'S WAIT OUR GREAT DEVELOPERS CREATE A ROM 4.3 FOR XPERIA X10
It is hard to know what the thoughts of people are when they say they want Android 4.3 on an XPERIA X10i
I'm all for keeping the XPERIA X10i alive, but Android 4.3 would be in name only and a bit of eye candy.
OpenGL ES 3.0 is NEVER going to run on an Adreno 200 natively and even if you emulate OpenGL ES 3.0 in software, it's not going to improve the XPERIA X10i in any way as an OpenGL ES 3.0 game is hardly going to run on a 1GHz processor with 385MB RAM.
The 2D graphics'll never run a 720p Video in HW accelerated mode in anything other than GB 2.3.3 ‡
USB will only be for charging/PC data connection.
No Miracast, no Wi-Fi Direct, no OTG, no MHL, no BT 3.0+HS, no Dolby 5.1 audio, no 802.11n AND we only have 385MB of RAM
Personally I'd suggest developers harden Android 4.1,2 and see what more can be done to improve the Adreno 200 and overall stability/compatibility.
Now this in itself is no small ask as Qualcomm didn't (to my knowledge) release any Adreno 200 drivers for anything above GB 2.3.3
I'd like to see the XPERIA X10i live a full and rich life at Android 4.1.2 with a great GPU, rather than a desperate and reckless life beyond that.
The XPERIA X10i will truly live on when someone creates HW acceleration in the Adreno 200 above 2.3.3 ‡
‡ - I have not checked FeraVolt new Adreno mods

Disappointed? I can't think why.
I use my XPERIA X10i v2.3.3 daily
1800mAh battery (1-5 days)
64GB SanDisk
Samba Filesharing allowing file sharing of 64GB microSD card
I have Link2SD on second partition
54 FPS 2D Graphics
DoomKernel clocked at ~1.15GHz
XPERIA S feature set with weather widget, screen print and etc
Stream Music(Neutron MP) and Videos(BSPlayer) from my NAS,
Watch live TV streamed from my NAS.
Generally 80MB RAM free operationally
XDA Developers will continue to improve the Android experience on the XPERIA X10i and for those still using this almost iconic device, there is much to look forward to. There is no reason to think there won't be improvements for the XPERIA X10i in the future. It may be components of Android 4.3 or some other version, but at the end of the day, it's all good.

Nothing to explain. It's a 64GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I, re-fromated to FAT32 with a cluster size of 32KB.
I've also used 32GB SankDisk cards without problems.
The Sony Ericsson X10i white paper states a 32GB microSD card is supported on an XPERIA X10i. (Revision 5 Sept 2010)
I suggest you open a Question & Answer post regarding your 32GB microSD card and find out where you went wrong or if the card is faulty/fake.
Google Play Link2SD then Google Link2SD as there's mountains of information on configuration options and partition tools to do it.
DoomKernel is one of many Kernels that provides 'robust' support for overclocking and additional features.
I use it because it supports my requirements, not because it's better or worse than any other Kernel.
Doom kernel make my phone lag, no matter what stock base rom or even stock rom

Hi ! I'm french and i'm interessed by this project
My Xperia X10 is acctually on ferakernel V4 with the 4.1.2 rom. I have always 100 to 140 mb ram free but I think new features on the 4.3 can be interesting on our old X10

jaja Yes me too I'm creating my own Rom based on Xperia X10 Z HD (IV-Final) jaja I removed all the bugs and errors that the rom has ... It has a lot, I think that I was so foolish to put the same apps in system and data ... Also It was stupid to put the Wallpapers picker in other folder called "wallpapers "" JAJA Well I'm improving that Rom a lot, and I'm starting for the scratches my JB rom and yes, i will change my signature soon Android 4.3 It seems that it needs a better hardware to work ...
where i can download 4.3 for x10 ?
this version dont have bug ?

Take care my friend, Android 4.3 is more crazy and unstable in X10 than 4.2.2 ...
LET'S WAIT ANDROID 4.4 KITKAT ... THAT WILL SUPPORT LOW-END DEVICED LIKE OUR X10 !!

IMHO: There is a flaw in the way your thinking.
x10 isn't a low end device (it was the flagship of SonyEricsson), but in 2013 it merely has become an old device.
It has good specs, but only if you compare it to similair devices in the year 2009/2010.
Android 4.4 has been made for devices with lower specs, but that does not mean that x10 is fully supported.
In other words: 4.4. can run on devices with lower RAM and CPU, but it still needs drivers...
Because x10 is an old device, i'm not sure if there are any driver to use.
Kind regards.
So,the Xperia Sola has the same cpu+gpu with Xperia P but Sola has lower resolution than Xperia P so theoretically the Xperia Sola is better in terms of gpu power, right? No,this video shows that Xperia P runs Nova 3 much better than Xperia Sola.I must tell that I don't have the Sola yet so I haven't tested anything,I have just seen videos in YouTube. Please tell me why this happens?
P.S.Can I take photosphere photos with CM10 or newer?
More RAM..
Xperia P gaming performance is not bad with a custom rom inside it's almost fly but with stock it still better Xperia Sola also not bad but it doesn't have many ram compare to XP make your own choice, but if you're looking for buying both devices, I suggest you go with another newer one
But so why Xperia Go plays the same game much better?Only because resolution?
@SakisProHD
Because it has an insanely low resolution which means that the gpu has to process much fewer pixels than Xperia P.
Photosphere can also be installed on 4.1.2 (I use it) but it needs a device that has a gyroscope
And Xperia P has much better performance in riptide gp2 than Xperia u
Sent from my LT22i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
In all cases and simple way...
Xperia P just beats Xperia U, Go and Sola in gaming !!
That is my opinion !
Sent from my LT22i using Tapatalk
Both phones are different and both phones can be used for gaming as well, got working on my Sola Despicable Me, Dead Trigger, Subway Surfers, and many other games, depending on the ROM installed can lag.
Just flash a good ROM for it, set governors and you're good to go.
