I'm running Task635 ISC'D OUT V9 with BLN.
Is the BLN LED notification the best option for LED notification?
Does the LED notification use a lot of battery?
My phone went from 94% to 58% in 6 hours idle, I'm guessing the LED lights being on for about 5 hours could be the culprit.
You can also try no LED from the market it works well

does No LED use a lot of battery??
I had battery issues with noled. I haven't used it in a long time, but as it keeps the screen on, I assume it will hold a wake lock...so probably about the same battery penalty as BLN. Hoping someone can prove me wrong though...

No led does not keep the screen on. It puts a tiny icon that bounces around your screen and uses very little battery.

Agreed, but I don't believe the device will enter deep sleep with the display on, which it has to be to show the pretty colored dot.

I loved LED on the dell streak because you could just have 1 light on and not 4! I wish someone would cone thru with something more efficient... Oh and no led burns more battery than bln .

It means the phone is 'bounce charging'. this means that when it is plugged in and reaches full charge it will stop and drain about 5% then start charging again. phones are designed to do this so you can leave it plugged in for as long as you like.
Here is a shot. I have the brightnest at around 75%.

The screen is the biggest battery drain and it is on all phones, so the higher the brightness the quicker the battery will drain. Looking at your stats you had the screen on for around an 40-60 minutes which will produce the battery use you are seeing. The S3 will give you about 3.5 hrs of screen on time tops at 75% brightness.
I use the S3 outdoors on 30-40% brightness in sunlight and it is visible so I'm not sure what you are getting at when you say you can't see it outdoors.
Who knows why the sgs2 was programmed to read 100%. In any case it was a false reading, once you unplug the charger it is physically impossible to have 100% charge, in reality it will be 99.9%...... . In my opinion the fact that the battery stats get rounded down more accurately reflects the actual charge remaining, my old sgs2 used to hang on 100% for anything upto an hour which was just plain inaccurate.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
3H26M later. I guess the bigger screen is taking much more battery juice. I was able to do a full day with S2.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Something is wrong if you can't go a day on one charge. You should easily be able to get 4-5 hours of screen on time with reasonable brightness.
Dropping to 99% once charger is disconnected is normal, was like that on the original SGS if I'm not mistaken.

I have the touchwiz toggles and I love them. However I keep forgetting to turn my GPS off when I am done using it.

why would you bother turning it on and off all the time?
there are a lot of programs that might need your location to work properly, plus its a PITA to constantly turn it on and off..
there are plenty of market widgets that allow you to turn that off and other things, plus, some roms have that ability in their pull down menus
For one thing it's murder on your battery.
And I have a great toggle in my pull down menu, I just want an icon on my actual home screen to remind me when it's left on

"murder"?
don't think so...
besides, why did you buy a full featured, smart phone, if you aren't going to utilize all that it offers?
as others have said, I still get a full day on my battery, and have tons of stuff running all the time.
Your GPS is only actually on when an app requests it. When its on there's an icon to show you its on and searching or on and fixed.
I use tasker to automatically enable the GPS whenever I launch an app that would use it and then disable GPS when the app is closed.

3g eats a lot more battery from what I have seen...LTE and Wifi are the easiest on battery. That being said I still don't think 3g should be causing that much drain...I bet you have a rogue app since the app usage shows 50%

Download better battery stats and grant it super user rights. Let your phone sit for a couple hours (without touching it) and pay your read out from it here. It seems like you have an app going crazy, but just simply looking at your installed apps won't help.

Open it to grant super user. Then let your phone sit for at least an hour or two. It's best overnight. Then post your kernel wake lock, partial wake locks and alarms.

Actually i disagree on this one. I will bet the power saver doesnt describe what it does, which in most manufacturers case is just cripple the phone. Lowering the cpu speed and dimming the screen is not always the best way to save battery. And most people that dont know what it actually does. Then when their phone slows or screen dims it is returned as defective.
