unlock the galaxy 5 locked ram - Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500

Hi good forum
I'm have a question
Is possible to unlock the 256 Mb locked Ram
thanks
Sorry for my bad english
Inviato dal mio Super GT-I5500 usando Tapatalk

in my opinion it is absolutely impossible because the RAM 256 is the total amount, the same software / default programs consume + / - 120MB. are various scripts that improve the hardware acceleration, and compress the framework

the only thing I have been able to do is to modify the CM7 zip file removing all things I don't need, like all non italian languages, some apps and some various stuff.. Naturally you have to edit a lot of apk files inside the CM7 package.
Another little thing is installing just the minimal gapps package (and you can remove something even from it!) and then install only what you need..
Doing that way when I install a new copy of my personal CM7 version I got this results from Settings / Memory
--> total 184 MB / free 144 MB
there's nothing more things like that which you can do..
if you use stock rom you could remove all the bloat you don't need, but first take a full backup and be ready to the worst, 'cause you could even remove something you shouldn't and your phone may not boot anymore without flashing it gain!

This isn't ralated to RAM,
This is related to intenal memory, that we already have S2e which let at least 100Mb free.

How to add apps to custom ROM?

I tried to add some apps to a clean official 2.1 generic rom!
I added all to data/app,but tried system/app,too and then signed
the rom again!
But if I flashed the rom not all apps shown at phone!
What is the problem, why some apps works and other not?
Rootexplorer,Titanium Backup,Autokiller and Linpack works,but
Tapatalk Pro and Zeam Launcher or other Launcher don`t works!
Now I don't know but you might have ran out of space on the phone.
Just sayin
If you put it under data on a "fresh" ROM with no data I have no idea why it does that but if you had apps installed before:

Tried with this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714075
Data/app included at the ROM!
Maybe I have to delete some apps, before I add the new apps!
But from the Android Market we can install many apps,so
why it should not possible to add several apps to the ROM?
P.S.Sorry for bad english
Your phone has a memory limit if you reach your limit it won't install the app.
Hm,but memory limit with 7 apps?
From Market I can install more then 7 apps!
EDIT:
Tried now only with "Tapaptalk Pro" not working!
Maybe anybody can check the app,why don`t work if I try to add to the ROM!
Mod edit: Attachment removed, posting licensed apps is against forum rules, first and final warning.
Nobody can help?
Why some apps works if I add them to the ROM and other
don`t available after add them to the ROM and sign the ROM?
Maybe there are problems with classes.dex/odex files?
system/app is where programs like HTC's programs, Gui and other important programs is stored for the phone to access it quicker?
Correct me if i'm wrong.
And the Data is where the programs that you want to install outside the system folder. So you would need to place the .apk's there, and change to setup script or something similar?
Yes,I tried both methods, but some apps not available at phone, after
signing and flashing the ROM!
Some other apps works
I only know apps,lib`s etc.are stored at "MANIFEST.MF"
The apps which I added are stored there, but not all available
at phone!
Example:
Code:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Created-By: 1.0 (Android SignApk)

[Q] Motorola XT530 (2.3.5) Rooting querries

I am a Noob, so bear with me.
I went through many threads regarding XT530. links are
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1218506&page=2
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271114
the first thread is said to be root XT530 (2.3.5 based) but the title goes for XT316(2.3.4). So i am a bit worried if thats alright or i got wrongly redirected over there. Moreover, the links for the files weren't working, so i need links for the files needed (like Google GMS pack).
the second thread says it will root the current android version, but i need to ask if that would install Google GMS services automatically or i need to download that pack externally.
PLus i need a few basic questions if anyone bother to answer:
1. I got just 19mb to 25mb as my internal memory constantly. i mean, i dont think i would get more than 35mb of internal memory even if i remove all apps installed. is it normal?
2. would i be able to shift apps to SD card after rooting?
3. can i overclock my phone? and if yes, what is the maximum limit?
No ine bothers to put down a single dmn answer? :\

Hello,
I know for a fact that both uper mentioned links worked fine, but i rooted my XT530 phone using the second one.
1. It is normal 19 to 25 MB of memory if u have installed a few apps, that is becouse you have preinstalled lot of useless junk which you cannot uninstall even if you have rooted your phone. I'm hoping that cianogenmod (or some other custom rom) will soon be available for XT530, so we would be able to uninstall things we don't need.
2. You can shift apps to SD even without rooting your phone, but the trick is that most preinstalled apps cannot be shifted or uninstalled.
3. After rooting I wasn't able to overclock my phone, and I tried every cpu-tuning app available on the matrket. Again we will have to wait for some custom rom.
Hope this helps a bit.
first thanks a lot for replying.
Can you give me a good reason to root my phone if i cant do anything in the casE?

[Q] How to increase ROM System

Hello,
I noticed after upgrading to ICS the available ROM System decreased from 180 MB to 51 MB (see attachment).
I wonder if there is any way to improve it, knowing that my device doesn't appear to suffer lot from that. But in case there is a solution, I will try.
Thanks
I think it's possible increasing system partition but not now. Because partition table can be changed but requires compatible bootloader which no exist yet. You can delete system apps, ringtones and unused fonts.
Sorry for my english
Edit:
I have VK ICS rom and installed S-Voice (~100MB). I have 54,3MB free on system.

[Q] On customizing ROM and ROM updates

Hey all!
Today earlier I was reading some topic when looking for a fix to the /system low space problem, and then someone said to use this program and/or this program.
I have a few questions about this, since I'm sort of noob in these details.
1) Is this the only thing I can do to get throught this /system problem? (removing unwanted APKs, etc)
2) Do I have to use both of the programs above or they do the same thing?
3) Is there any list of safe-removal APKs for Jelly Bean? I found lists about it, but for other phone models.
4) I'm watching this thread very close. I already use Rashed's CM10 and he is promising an update to the next 48 hours. When this new build comes, am I going to remove all those APKs and that blablabla to reduce the ROM size again?
Thanks in advance!
1. Yes its the only thing you can do (freeing up space in system partition)
2. Use one program which can move apps from system to data partition
3. Phone model doesn't matter, all phones have almost same core applications
4. Yes before flashing try to reduce size of your ROM, if not already done by Rashed

[TIPS] - for Performance and Battery life for G2 mini

Tips for better performance and battery life of your phone.
Hi guys. I have decided to reopen this thread and share some of my tips to you (thanks to forum moderator). You find here basic easy tips, but also something more difficult. I do this specially for less experienced users, so any suggestion from others I will appreciate.
So let's start!
For performance:
For non-rooted devices
So, here, I can suggest you only keep your device clean. That mean, unnistaling unused applications, clearing cache, close recent apps. I don't believe any ram cleaners/boosters, because in most cases, they slow devices by running like process, instead they're helpful.
For rooted devices
Here we have a really more possibilities but also keeping clean device is a best option. When you're rooted, you can removere bloatware, or some preinstalled apps, which you don't use (recommended app Link2SD). In Google playstore exist a lot useful apps to get more from your device. My favorites are Root Booster and Kernel Audiutor to set up your device. In addition, on xda exist a lot of good threads for G2 mini, which are helpful. To increase multitasking you can use virtual memory - swap (If this method didn't work for you, you should try THIS). But, best options below.
For rooted&unlocked bootloader&TWRP installed devices
IMPORTANT! - before any modification have nandroid backup!
If you get here without any brick, now you can get most of your phone. So, here you can flash mods/tweaks to increase your performance like L SPEED MOD or ABS (for me best mods). It's good to try some customs roms (find here) or also try good kernels, which support zram (in my opinion better than swap). Just, do some research!
For Battery life:
For non-rooted devices
I'm repeat myself, just keep cleaned your device. Here is important to have a fewest background process as possible. So try don't use battery hunger apps. You can find apps which are draining your battery (in settings or use app Wakelock detector) and at least disable them. From battery extended apps i can suggest you Greenify, which is in my opinion the best effective app for battery. But don't forget, battery also depends on your usage and your brightness level.
For rooted devices
Still remember, what i write above. Here is it similar like in performance section for rooted devices. What's more, in stock rom I recommended download app Kernel Audiutor and set your cpu minimum frequency to 300 mhz (don't forget to set on boot), because minimal frequency of stock rom is 787 mhz.
For rooted&unlocked bootloader&TWRP installed devices
Here I can suggest you this thread. Also Xposed with some modules can be helpful. When you have custom kernel, I recommended set governor in Kernel Audiutor on interactive (best) or conservative. Custom roms and kernels will be always good choice for battery life, just give a try!
PS: On XDA exist a lot of good mods for your phone, so just search them!
My results:
I get about 5 hours on screen with medium usage and two days battery life. Also I'm able to do pretty good multitasking ( For example seeing Facebook, chating, listening music without lags) and in Antutu Benchamark I get score about 22 000 .
If you have any ideas, suggestions, tips etc. , post it here!
I think, is everything, what i can give you.
I hope this was useful for you and it helps you.
Good luck, to get the most from your device!
Zdravo, brate, thanks for the advices but i have a question, my G2 mini restarts all the backgrounds apps for example if i write something in this window then switch lets say to chrome for 2 seconds the previous app just starts over. It's the only thing i hate about my g2 mini.

Hi that is wierd Do you do install something on your phone? For example some mod or app. Try find out it. Also, you can go to settings, developer options, scroll down and chceck your limit of background process Or find something, what could be wrong But be careful, what you change
I didn't even root it, i only have basic stuff, and i also didn't limit background processes. Same behaviour on both kitkat and lollipop, even with factory reset.

I do some reserach about perfomance and battery life, and i want to suggest you some tricks and advices.
Please read these instuctions carefuly, this is safe metod, but always can something happen. So, be careful. If you dont understand these insturctions, dont do this I'M NEW, SO LINKS DIDN'T WORK FOR ME SO I WILL NAVIGATE YOU. It's easy, don't worry
BETTER PERFORMANCE:
Lg g2 mini come with zram 215 mb, we will increase it to 380 mb using two files (98 swap data,98 swap system). This will help you to do better multitasking and you will have less lags. But dont forget, you are the boss of your phone, so if you don't take care about it, you will get lags. Of course, that you can get more zram using 98 swap cache file, but this didn't work for me.
What do you need:
1.root - I have d620r android 5.0.2 rooted with kingroot
2.busybox- download in google play
3.support init.d - in google write "uni init v1.0 apk" and download it from first link
4.root browser- download in google play
5.script manager - download in google play
6.scripts- write "uloz.to" in google and tap first link. Then search "98 swap file" (dont worry about this website, is verified slovakia download site )
7.diskinfo - download in google play
Instructions:
1. Make sure you are rooted.
2. Extract 98 swap file and put that two files on sd card. Also "uni init v1.0 apk" put on sd card.
3. Instal busybox, then reboot
4. install "uni init v1.0 apk" ,open it and install init.d folder, then reboot
5.install root browser, open it,give it root permissions, and make sure that in system/etc/ is init.d folder. If it exist, you're on good way.
6. use root browser and copy 97 swap data and 98 swap system to system/etc/init.d. Then hold finger on 97 swap data, find permisions and check all squares. Do same with 98 swap system.
7.install script manager, open it,give it root permissions (don't forget to tick browse as root) and go to system/etc/ init.d. open 97 swap data and tap on "su" and "boot" and check "is executable" and then, tap on "run". Do same with 98 swap system. Then reboot.
8 install diskinfo app, open it, and if you have swap 380 mb, congratulation, you succesfully increase performance of your phone But dont UNINSTALL script manager, because after that, scripts wont works.
Also, i recommended app seeder and link2sd (remove bloatware).
BETTER BATTERY LIFE:
Also exist some scripts for that, but i don't testet them yet
What do you need:
1. Greenify - download in google play
2.Kernel auditor - download in google play
3. Wakelock detector - download in google play
Instructions :
1. Instal wakelock detector and find out which apps are drain your battery.
2 Install Greenify and hibernate some "battery hunger apps" or uninstall that apps.
3 Install Kernel auditor and set up cpu frequencies to max 1190 mhz and min 384 mhz. Set these settings on boot.
4. Than go to cpu hotplug and uncheck it. (set frequencies will work)
Also, I recommended close recent apps.
You are done. I hope that this thread helps you.

hi yes, you've right, lags phone, but only when swap file is on sd card. This is swap file in internal memory, so speed of read of this swap is fast. Hmmm, i don't know, i don't have that problem, after reboot, iam able to use my mobile phone after aproximmately 30 seconds. Of course, that system must loading applications and other things, so it takes some time, but that is noting horrible, isn't it? Yes, swap in cache is really good, maybe is better, but iam repeat, this didn't work for me. When i run script 98_swap_cache_file_v300, a get some error about swap.img.
I have swap 380 mb and it is far better than 215 mb.
