Hello
I have Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and i was having some troubles with it so i decide i will upgrade it with newer ROM so i tried to follow this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
so when i press : middle button + power button to go to recovery mode i can't instead i get download mode and odin doesn't recognize it. so i tried "adb reboot recovery" to reboot into recovery mode adb did reboot me into recovery mode and gave me this error "error protocol fault" and now everytime i start the device it takes me to to recovery mode on its own and in the recovery mode i can't do anything (the buttons doesn't work).
Please please help me.
Update:
I was able to make Odin to recognize it. so i tried this Firmware: http://hotfile.com/dl/146343710/8279...2_SFR.zip.html that i get from samfirmware.com (PDA: S5830BUKS2 ##
Version : 2.3.5
Date: 2011 November
CSC: S5830SFRKS2
Country/Carrier France (SFR) )
and using the Cooper_v1.0.ops (I attached it )
now Odin is stuck at " <1> qcsbl download.." step
up please help me i really really need it
up again please anyone
up up up.....
your 5830i is not same as international 5830... and besides it has got custom binary counter... flashing through odin won't increase it as you are flashing official version but no one really would know problem with your device...
if it is taking you to recovery mod then do a full wipe of data + cache and do not flash custom roms over here unless some dev says that they are compatible with i
Your phone is screwed....I am sorry for your loss

Select one package, choose the file!
put your ace into download mode!
Power + Volume Down
Hit START now take it real easy as it goes!
When odin says PASS
If he boots just right just come back here and hit my thanks button
After you hit my thanks button, go to recovery mode do a wipe cache and a wipe factory resect

no need to unroot ma8, since flashing stock firmware will automatically unroot ur phone, after that if u need root then u can always do so
ps- ensure that u dwnld the proper firmware meant for ur device(if its I9100 then the one corresponding to it) and follow the ODIN instruction carefully for a successfull flash
1). Download official firmware for your device from samobile.com , Google and download Odin .
2) Extract the zip downloaded from samobile . It will be a .tar or .tar.md5 file.
3) Boot into Odin mode like u did earlier
4) Run Odin and connect your device . Odin will detect and will show the port number.
5) In PDA ,select the extracted file.
Don't change any other option .
6) Press Start
Odin will flash the binary . Wait till process is complete. On completion it shows pass.
Your phone will boot automatically.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i is one
of the most popular and best-selling
low-end Android smartphones with
nice features. The phone was
released with Android 2.2 (Froyo)
and was later upgraded to version
2.3.6 Gingerbread. Modest specs of
the this handset make it unqualified
to be updated to Ice Cream
Sandwich or Jelly Bean but there are
qualified and skilled developers out
there who have successfully, but not
buglessly, developed custom ROMs
and mods to give you some ICS and
JB flavor.
If you have recently tried a custom
ROM and now want to go back to
original Gingerbread ROM, you can
install it manually. Sometimes the
device does not start properly
because it is caught in a bootloop
and you can only see the Samsung
logo with your device name. In such
a situation, installing the official
ROM is the best solution.
Getting Prepared
Download appropriate firmware
file from above and extract the
zip to your desktop computer.
Download Odin3 1.84 tool for
multi-file installation (extract
zip): Odin_with_pit_S5830I.zip
Download Odin3 v3.07 for
single file installation (extract
zip): Odin3-v3.07.zip
Download and install Samsung
USB Drivers on your PC:
Download
Charge your phone and backup
all essential data such as
contacts, messages, apps using
These Free Apps .
Open phone Settings>
Applications> Development
and enable USB Debugging.
Installing Stock Gingerbread
Firmware
Turn off you phone and boot it into
Download mode: hold down
the Volume Down + Volume
Up buttons, then long press
the Power key till the your phone’s
screen turns up and you see the
Download mode screen. Now follow
the steps that applies your case.
Single File Installation:
1. If you are going to do a single
file installation, launch Odin3
v3.07.exe as administrator and
connect the phone to computer
via USB cable.
2. When the device connections is
established successfully the
ID:COM port at Odin 3.07 turns
blue.
3. Click on PDA button and select
the firmware file with .tar.md5
extension.
4. Do not mess with any other
thing in Odin and click the
“Start” button.
Multi-file Installation:
1. In case you choose to install a
multi-file firmware, run Odin3
1.84.exe as administrator and
connect your phone to PC while
it is in Download mode.
2. When the device is connected,
the ID:COM will turn yellow.
3. Make sure that “Re-Partition”,
“Auto Reboot” and “F Reset
Time” options are checked on
Odin.
4. Now click on PIT button and
select the .pit
file: cooperve_0623.pit
5. Then click the PDA button and
select the file with CODE in its
name.
6. Click Phone and select the file
with MODEM in its name.
7. Click on CSC and select the file
with CSC in its name.
8. Finally hit the “Start” button on
Odin and let the installation
finish.
The installation will take just a few
minutes and when it is done your
phone will reboot automatically. The
first boot usually takes longer time
so a little patience is required. When
the phone boots, check the firmware
version from Settings> About on
your Galaxy Ace S5830i. Enjoy the
new firmware. Cheers!

hey man,
im a newbie here, can you help me unbrick my galaxy ace s5830i , ived looked at several how to tutorials but im just haveing a problem on finding an australian stock rom for my phone! , please help , it would be a pleasure
Please help!
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie, and I decided to root my phone yesterday. Once it was rooted successfully, i tried flashing a couple of ROMS (Ace of spades & Slimbean) and both didn't work because of an rror in the file. I then downloaded Razodroid 2.5, and insatlled it (after installing CWM 5), it said installation complete and i tried to reboot my phone, but its stuck on the logo screen. I've looked at so many different tutorials to unbrick it, downloaded all the different setups needed, but the problem is that it just won't go into recovery.
If i press down all the buttons, the logo comes on once, and then just stays blank for as long as i hold the buttons down, and if i let go of the buttons the logo comes up again and stays there.
I tried doing it through ODIN, but if it won't go in to recovery mode how do i get it to work? It doesn't even connect to the computer.
Please help me, I am really upset and frustrated by this, and no longer have a phone. I am at my wits end. Please tell me how to fix this.

ok, try the reboot tool from PC, I have a collection of recovery tool in My Android Collections, try them, if this fails
The galaxy Mini is using .ops file and not PIT file, so some Google search might help you to understand which version of Odin3 is used for
Mini 2
EDIT: ok checked and 6500D is using PIT, you can download from here
for ROMs you can download from here, (Download fresh one and try) when using PIT, re-partition must be checked also remove SIM card and EXT SD card, when flashing, battery must be charged.

Choices
One factory reset
Two flash stock rom via Odin .
Three take it to a Samsung service centre .

Instructions
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked

Hi.
So basically I think my Galaxy S3 i9300 is bricked .When I turn it on it goes into download mode.I want to flash a ROM on it but have trouble finding the proper one.Can someone give me links to a ROM which has .pit, csc and modem files?
please point me in the right direction. Thanks
Depends on yre choice , stock or custom
I want links to a stock ROM please.
Sammobile is your best bet. It has almost all stock firmwares for all Samsung phones.
However , the download speed is limited to around 50kb/s for free users
SAMMobile only gives the .md5 file. I need a ROM with all the files I listed.
Try here : http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9300
The region codes are listed here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/csc-codes-t2090739
Note: you don't allways need to use all the files, in most of the cases csc and pda is enough
