Anyone have this annoying problem? - HTC EVO 3D

So my problem just started last night.
And that is when i answer a call i get a prompt after i hit answer, It tells me to press 1 to accept call or press 2 to send to voicemail.
It started after i installed Google voice. So i uninstalled but it's still doing it now.

I had that problem with Google Voice too. When I uninstalled it, I had to log into Google Voice and edit the settings to remove the service from my phone. Been a while back, but log into Google and look it up...or just Google "disable or remove Google Voice" and see what it says. Hope this helps.

This is a setting in Google Voice. There are two options:
1) Announces caller (Press 1 to accept, etc) and (if you miss the call) lets you listen as caller leaves a message
2) Directly connects calls when phones are answered (Standard for most phones w/o GV)
These settings are stored on the Google Voice web site under Settings -> Call -> Call Screening.
I keep Call Screening on because I like to be able to hit 1 to accept or 2 to send to voicemail, etc. I can see how it could be frustrating and some people would rather when they pick up have the call directly connected.
Hope that helps!

Bluetooth issue

Weird problem. When I get a call, I press to answer the call on my headset then it immediately goes to a female voice that says unknown caller press 1 to answer or 2 to send to voicemail.
Defeats the purpose of Bluetooth if I have to pull the phone out to answer.
Anyone else have this issue?
I called sprint and they said it was htc issue then transferred me to htc and they couldn't figure it out.
I am using a blue ant t1 device.
Thanks!
That would be happening because you synced with Google Voice. Google Voice is intercepting your call and is causing the additional requirement. I think that can be changed in your Google Voice settings if you log in to the actual web app, not the app on the phone. I had the same problem. It was intercepting voice and text. Haven't changed it to use just Google Voice for Voicemail yet.
Bingo!
Sprint couldn't answer...blamed on HTC...HTC couldn't answer said would get back to me in 5 business days...
Come here and BAM!

Google Voice, rings forever before voicemail picks up

Ok i've had this issue since i got my evo 3d and it has now cost me $30 (long story)
what happens is when anyone calls my phone it will ring about 7-10 times, then it will pause for a few seconds then ring even longer, and then finally my voice mail (google voice) will pick up with the voice mail prompt
has anyone else had this issue? does anyone know anything i can do to fix it?
as for costing me money, a perfect storm so to speak with the cable companies auto pay system and my banks credit card. for some reason it was declined, when the cable company called me they gave up on waiting for a voice mail, so now i got hit with a late fee.
go to http://voice.google.com, log into your acct, open google voice settings. click phone, the find your sprint number, click edit, then click in advanced settings at the bottom. change this setting:
"When someone calls this phone directly and I don't pick up"
from "Ring my other phones before going to voicemail"
to "Go directly to voicemail"
I have that setting selected

MIUI ROM v2.1.67 incoming call acceptance?

Hey guys, so I'm obviously running MIUI on my 3D but everytime I receive a call and I slide down to answer, a voice pops up and asks me to press 1 if I want to receive the call? How can I set this up right, I'm pretty sure it's a setting but I can't find it! Thanks
Are you using google voice?

I installed it and unistalled because it kept sending me emails and all that junk. Could that be the problem even if it's not installed?
When I had that issue it was because I integrated my phone number with google voice. I fixed it by going back through the settings and choosing not to use google voice to make any phone calls.

Removing google voice association with the phone number is one way to resolve the issue.
If you're interested in keeping google voice but dislike the requirement of pressing 1 every time to accept the call, the feature is labeled as Call Screening and is available under the Settings -> Calls section on the web site: http://www.google.com/voice.
If you receive a lot of legit phone calls, this setting would probably get frustrating quickly. If you receive a lot of spam calls, this setting is very handy as you can send it to voicemail and listen if they leave a message.
Hope that helps!

[Q] Why does Google Voice not work with the dialer?

Hey all,
Did some searching for this issue and didn't come up with much. Basically, running a stock Rezound using the latest OTA update. Google Voice works fine for receiving and sending calls. However, I can only call out using Google Voice when I tap the person I want to call in my contact list. Is there some way for Google Voice to work with unknown numbers (i.e. just dialing a number the old school way)? It always uses my VZW number if I do this.
I have my Google Voice calling option set to "use for all calls" so I'm wondering what's going on. I am dialing the full number including an area code.
Thanks.
Thats the way I always use it. I select "use with all calls" and anytime I dial a number from the regular dialer... hell, any time I tap on any phone number in the browser... it just dials using Google Voice the way you'd expect it would.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no dice. Dialer still causes VZW number to make the call instead of my GV number.
I'm using HTC Sense 3.5 if that helps any...? I haven't heard of anyone with this problem.
I have mine set to "ask me every time". Even for unsaved numbers, it'll prompt me with a box so I can select dial with / without Google Voice. Try setting it this way, and then attempt to call an unknown, see if it'll prompt you. That way you can narrow down whether it's your phone or the Google Voice app.

Yeah, I just tried doing the "ask me every time" option and dialed my house. Didn't give me any sort of message box asking me if I wanted to use GV or not and simply called using my VZW number.
I just got the phone two days ago and I've noticed some weird black artifacts (!) showing up during typical usage sometimes. Maybe I should just exchange it at this point?
Definitely do so if you are within your 14 days. That way you won't have to claim a warranty exchange for a refurb later on.

Yep, I still have 12 or so days left to do that. Sad, because I really like the phone. Hopefully the replacement will work properly with Google Voice...

Just got a replacement. No more screen issues and my bottom buttons are actually red! (they were pink before)
However...still have this same Google Voice issue. Very frustrating. Maybe it's because I skipped the voicemail setup?

You're obviously doing something wrong with the initial setup... That or you have it Google Voice not configured with your cell phone number correctly...
Works okay for me. On ice cream sandwich.
Google Voice not working when configured for ALL calls
I am running:
GV App build number 0.4.2.54
Galaxy Tab GT-P6200L with Android v4.0.4
When I set GV to ask before every call, it does, and my calls work just fine.
When I set GV to make all calls, it doesn't make calls, at all.
Since I went to the expense of porting my number to GV, it would be nice to use GV for my calls. I want to keep my cell number private, and GV should allow me to do this by showing my GV number to people when I call them.
Although I can do what I want with the extra screen press (when asked if I want to use GV), this is not how the app is supposed to work.
Is there a fix for this that anyone is aware of?
Thank you.

is google voice working for you guys?

wondering if someone could please check as I am not getting texts and when someone calls me it goes to voicemail and I don't get the message.
Are you using Google Voice separate from your actual Sprint number or did you have your Sprint number made into your Google Voice number (though using the sprint integration, not actually porting your number to GV)?
If it's the latter, here's what happened to me. I had been using Google Voice & Sprint integration on my EVO 4G. Immediately after activating my SG3 last night everything was still working, but when I got up this morning I logged into the Google Voice web interface and realized something had been borked. I didn't have a phone number associated with my Voice account at all, and calling my cell number from my office phone sent me to Sprint voicemail rather than GV voicemail.
There was also no Phones tab under GV settings (and Settings was missing a good number of the tabs that are usually there) since sometime after the activation process it disabled the GV integration and my GV account no longer had a number at all.
No worries, I just clicked the "Get A Google Voice Number" (or however it was worded) in the left column on the web interface and went through the process again. I said I had an existing number, and it asked me to type it in to get my options. It recognized it as a Sprint number and asked how I wanted to integrate it. After that everything set up like it was before and I didn't even have to re-record my GV voicemail message since it was still there.
Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your response! I did not integrate the numbers. Every thing looks perfect on the website. I can even make calls with Google voice. Its just when people call me it goes right to voice mail and i cant get the message if they leave a voice mail. So frustrating! Anyone else.
I did the integration method... but when I got to the screen after the choice of using a google voice number or the sprint number, the button was disabled. I rebooted my phone and everything worked fine. I get phone calls on my sprint phone from my google number, my phone also displays on their caller ID as my google number. Hell, I can even get MMS now to my google number (forwarded to my phone's messages) that I didnt think I could before.
something to check
i just had a similar problem. i was screwing with groove-ip and i stopped receiving calls.
go to google voice on your pc
go to settings
it should show you the "phones" tab, if not, get there
make sure you don't have any other phones checked for "forward calls"
i had "google chat" checked and it screwed me up
hope this helps

try disabling voicemail via the google.com/voice site. and then re-enable it. i haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it seems like it worked (the forwarding option in call settings on the gs3 is grayed out now).

What is the point of gv anyway? I used it for a few days and never seemed to get much use out of it

It works great night at you just need to manually set it up in forwarding section or go to Google voice website under settings to get the number string to put in.

This worked! I was constantly getting a "Forwarding number change failed" on my AT&T SIII when selecting Google Voice for my voicemail service, but I just followed the steps under Settings > Phones > Deactivate Google voicemail on this phone and then Activate Google voicemail on this phone - once you do that, the forwarded numbers under Call Forwarding on the phone list my Google Voice number like they should
Here's my only issue with this though.... if you could change the Voicemail service from My Carrier to Google Voice like normal, the next setting below it gives you options for Voicemail settings for Google Voice - that lists the number to dial, which is obviously your GV number and not the carrier specified one.... On the dialer, if you press the Voicemail icon without having GV enabled as the correct service, it dials the carrier specified one instead! I'm sure that when a voicemail comes in and pops up on the notification bar, I'm just going to click on that and read / listen to it there, but not having the option of dialing it straight away from the dialer is a little half-assed....
I found this for a solution on an S2 for AT&T, might give that a try and see if they can figure it out for me

On Stock Android, you could also set Google Voice to list voicemail within the call log and listen from there. Haven't tried it yet on the GS3.

You're right, I can change the number listed manually, but it still says "My Carrier" and not "Google Voice" on the voicemail service even though the number listed is now my GV number.... I got with tech support at AT&T and they called Samsung to assist with this, but I don't know why they did, it's an issue with AT&T and most likely Visual Voicemail preventing me from being able to change the voicemail service from "My Carrier" to "Google Voice" and Samsung couldn't do anything to fix it
I was only able to switch my VoiceMail provider from AT&T to GoogleVoice by using the dialcode listed @ voice.google.com (*004*<insertyourGVnumberhere>#), and it works, even though the Dialer settings still shows "My carrier" instead of "Google Voice" as the provider, and attempting to change it in the dialer still says "Forwarding number change failed".
Anyway, my problem now is that I can't for the life of me figure out where to change the timeout before it forwards to VoiceMail. I test-called from another phone and it rings for at least 60 seconds(!) before forwarding to GoogleVoice, instead of the 15 or so it used to be.
Where do you change this, or can you
