Hi so I picked up my second Galaxy note today and my god was there a difference in the UI it was actually shocking. The one on Roger runs almost as smooth as if it were the skyrocket. THe one i had on bell immediatley from the box it was lagging on the UI and all that. Im on two different carriers. I think it just goes to show that whatever the heck the carrier loads on the phone can really make it disgusting!
Conclusion. THe roger's phone has a faster UI. Bell's seems to lag and have ****ty screen dont know why.

I am in possession of both bell atrix and ATT atrix. I have to sell one and keep one but I cannot decide which one?
I like to have root access and play with roms. I have a lapdock as well.
what is your suggestion? which one should I keep?
You might be most qualified to answer this question since you have both phones. Maybe run quadrant on each.? Maybe Linpack too? And definately a speed test. You kind of have me wondering now if there is a substancial difference between the two phones. From reading around the forum it does appear the att version is recieving more attention.
Initially I would've said AT&T hands down..but now i'm not so sure. Since Seven's been able to get the Bell Atrix so that we can install At&T pseudo roms and themes..with the Bell atrix you're going to be more open to updates (from international carriers)..and thus more opportunity for potential updates.
Any bootloader bypass will most likely come from the At&t version however..so it makes it a tough call (although i'm sure once it's bypassed on AT&t's version..it won't be too long before it's applicable to the Bell/International versions)
as of now, I would stick with the AT&T version
I know that the bell atrix doesn't have sideloading disabled. i heard that this was an issue with the att one. Also, I'm not sure about the hsdpa+ speeds being blocked, I would check into that.
As suggested I ran Quadrant on both phones. some background about the phones:
1. ATT
original image, no mods, no theme, unlocked rooted, my primary phone
score 2652
2. BELL
modded phone using bell_deodex_v8, unlocked rooted
score 2803
I feel that the mod on BELL phone and/or ATT having more apps on it has to do with the difference in score.
---------------------------------------------
As for side rolling it is possible to open it on ATT if you have root.

Ohh yeah most Roms add that feature to your device with my setup I have sideloading enabled. Im not familiar with bell so I can't have say on your OP but hope this helps some

Not to be cynical, but why do you have both and what carrier are you on? And what country? The AT&T seems to get most of the attention here, as well as Motorola's updates tend to arrive in the USA first, but it mostly depends on your preference.
Hi!
I was wondering if it was possible to flash a Galaxy S modem to the Galaxy S II? Cause as of now, this phone is not released in Canada, and I don't think I would be able to receive the 3G unless it can accept that 800 band. Is this possible?
Thanks!
dude, the phone is quad band 3G+ . the international version will work in Rogers, Telus and all 850/1900 MHz networks you guys got up there just like it currently does on my ATT provider here in Boston.
And no, don't think about flashing a sgs modem. that will most certainly guarantee your phone's permanent and utter destruction.
It's weird, cause i have the i900 international... and I couldn't get 3G (HSDPA) until I flashed the Bell Canada modem onto it. I'm just wondering if that would happen to the i9100.
Unless the the base band already enables 850 and 1900... then it should be okay I suppose.
Hey guys, sorry to dig this thread up again. But just curious as to know why and how the modems are different between each other?
Have a similar issue with major battery drain on SGSII here in Australia, both phones running identical setups (I understand that kernel's being different is a major contributor too) but the SGSII is seriously dying with battery drain. Over all the modded SGS1 with different kernel etc gets much lower Quadrant scores than SGSII (obviously) but it is much zippier when being used, the interface is much smoother and faster than the SGSII visually. I diverse.....the issue I think could be the modem from the provider not being up to scratch. My modem I am getting a solid 3 days (finally I get to gingerbread and found a modem that is absolutely perfect for my phone and network)....after almost 2 years of various bouts of signal issues and/or battery drain issues.
Was curious to know what would be involved in getting the modem in my SGS1 to actually function for the SGSII?
Anyone want to give a run down on how modems are coded in a slightly dumbed down infor for semi-noob like my self?
I'm running cm7 and just noticed I can surf and use the phone at the same time like the commercial. Is this a Cm7 feature or did I not notice it before?
Its carrier specific. Tmobile can, Verizon can't haha! Thats why AT&T put it in their commercial.
- There was a ROM I flashed that killed data while on a call but I can't remember which one right now and that was just a bug fixed in the next update I'm sure.
Yes, I should do my own research and I have done the bare minimum. Atrix is a GSM phone and I believe page plus works on Verizon which isn't a GSM network? But somewhere I swear Ive read about the Atrix being able to work with other networks. Can it be flashed to page plus and if not which networks can I get it to without hardware changes. I am trying to sell mine as I got the S2 (don't flame me lol), I got the Atrix 2 first but everything I saw about the specs said the original was a better phone so I went with the next one in line for ics. It is what it is. Now I want to sell it so I can get the S3 and be next in line for JellyBean. So who is my target customers I can flash it to for prepay? Thanks in advance!
Broadcasted from the Redneck-Riviera in L.A. using my Sammy s2, Task650's smooth as a baby's bottom AOKP and a little duct tape.
No. If it doesn't have a sim, it wont work with the atrix since they (moto) didn't release it to cdma. Sorry
Hello.
Is there a way to update my G5 H820 to Nougat from outside USA ?
I got AT&T working sim, I tried with it - not working...
Thanks !
I have same issue too. I have a zain sim in right now, next month i'll be in at&t land
I asked this question on the ATT forum and they said you can only get the ota while having an active sim inside the US.
My g5 is on cricket which shares AT&T towers and I still didn't get it. Bought a $10 sim, activated it. Still nothing, then put $10 of service on it and it poped up right away. $20 for 7.0, it better be worth it.

I live in Israel, there is no AT&T here at all.
Don't worry guys 7.0 isn't very good.
If I could choose now, I would probably go back to 6.0.1 because it was just better. It performed faster, had a better UI as far as LG's skin is concerned, it was less restrictive, and used far less battery - especially when using Bluetooth. My battery drained 5% while writing this.
This is basically KitKat vs Lollipop (or XP vs Vista) again. Now being honest, which of those two would you rather have?

I would go back too, 7.0 hangs once in a while and isn't as smooth. I'm going to try a factory reset because its pretty bad sometimes
On my G5 update are linked to the phone carrier not the sim I have.
I have a Telus unlocked phone it did the update with my fido sim inserted and I got the telus branded nougat software (fido have their own)
