Xt912 problem - Motorola Droid RAZR

I have a question, I want someone than can answer me correctly.
I read at GSMarena than the xt912 is cdma and gsm like the Droid 2 global. I want someone than has one, to confirm this, cuz I wanna buy one, but don't want to buy a xt910, the are out of my price range. And the maxx we dont have to talk about that, do we?
Thx in advice..
Forgot to say, I want to use it on gsm networks at 900mhz.

Plenty of threads about this. If the hardware is there, it's disabled. The XT912 definitely does not work on GSM networks, and that's unlikely to change in the near future. Best not to buy one.

Android system can be configured to work with any hardware, but a cdma hardware cannot work as gsm, and vice versa
Got it?

Pretty sure the hardware in the XT912 and XT910 is identical - meaning both have physical CDMA/GSM/UMTS/LTE radio chips - but the GSM radios are disabled on the 912 and vice versa. Hence all the threads like this.

Yes.

They use the same frequencies on the GSM network. Rogers just has 2g available where BELL has cdma which you won't be using.

You won't have an issue. I have an unlocked RAZR on Telus right now. No issues. Bell and Telus share the same network.
It will run like a dream. Btw OP why would you want the Razr when you have thw GNexus. I much rather have that device. Would you trade?

Goin' Global!

Looks like Verizon's lookin' to make it possible to charge us EXTRA extra if we use the phone overseas after we get the ICS upgrade...

Way to find a way to charge SUPER roaming fees, Big Red!
At least we'll be able to use our 4G devices outside USA like those i-devices
Do we know what GSM bands the Verizon Droid RAZR Maxx it'll be using yet?
It is quad band.

Well at least this looks like a step in the right direction for unlocking the full potential of these devices. Maybe next they'll unlock the bootloaders...
If only.

It might have the same CPU but there's differences in hardware and I'm pretty sure changing the esn onto a different phone is not legal

Photon on Verizon
I'm looking to do something similar, I have a Photon that I'd like to get on Verizon, and I don't care at all about 4G. In fact, the kernel I run doesn't support it. I have a Verizon radio on it already, and have confirmed it's on Verizon's network, anyone have any clues what I should do next?

How to tell if GSM or CDMA?

My friend has a Droid Razr that is X912T.
Is this GSM or CDMA?
I see a lot of GSM Roms, and not many CDMA.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Seems like you own a cdma device,if it has Verizon's logo on the back it is cdma, just not shure about the T in the end

Sorry, meant to say XT912.
Not many ROM's for the CDMA I see. Bummer.
Thanks.
If you see Verizon logo..you are on cdma

Force 3g?

At my work location the cell towers are saturated and 4G service is horrible. I understand that Verizon wants to migrate everyone off 3g but it's still ridiculous. Is there any way to code a 3g/4g button or something? I'm assuming this is all coded in the radio and can't be altered, but I must ask...

I don't know about actually doing the code..but I don't see why not.. and I say that because I know when 4g first CME out there was a "button" that let you switch between the 2.. I believe its possible.. ull just have to find someone that would b willing to do it..

I don't recall the name but there are a couple of apps in the store for toggling 4g/3g.

I have tried all apps even called Samsung and they said it's not possible they could be wrong though

As far as I know you cant do it. I used to be able to do it on my galaxy nexus but that is because the galaxy nexus has separate 3g and 4g radio chips. (so you can disable one or the other) and the note ii has them integrated on the same chip
