So last Friday i went to my local att store with the full intention of getting the Note but naturally i wanted to try having some fun with the reps. I told them i was wanting a new phone and then asked them what is the best phone. Turns out the iphone 4s is the best. When i asked why i was told it has siri and a retina display. (no one there could tell me why the retina display was so amazing) At that point i decided not to attempt to troll them as it would have been pointless. Fast forward and im at the checkout buying the Note. While checking out the rep tells me how the phone has a 1080p screen. At this point i couldn't help myself i asked if it was better than the iphones retina..short anwser no it is not. Anyways im now a proud owner of the only 1080p galaxy note. lol

Love how store employees have no idea. Once asked what processor a phone had to be told a good one. When I asked what they meant I was told the processor was 'at least a few megabytes' lol. Talk about knowing your stuff!

I was there last week and the sales rep trying to sell me the phone was unaware of the different processor the ATt has over the international model to comidate LTE. I could write a book from going in there and talking to them. My gf always tells me to take it easy before we head in lol.
Best part was when i was walking out someone was complaining to the rep about being throttled. I noticed he had the infuse and after the rep told him they couldn't do anything about it i made it a point to tell him how to fix it. Once again the rep told the man what i was saying wouldnt work and against the tos. Needless to say he is no longer throttled lol.

We don't get a bigger pay out for the iphone its just its gets returned a lot less than any other phone I love android in a Droid fanatic but android is just not for everyone it take a special person to own a Android

I was at a corporate one. I don't mean to sound like an ass i just think its funny. To be honest if i worked there i would recommend iphones and act ignorant of cell phone tech. The vast majority of people would just get confused otherwise. When people get confused they feel dumb and when they feel dumb they get offended and end up leaving and making their purchase elsewhere.

Sometimes I get people that try to pull this stuff in my store. You can always tell because they ask questions that are technical but is a question that you're asking you should already know the answer to, like what does aws stand for, or what is a pentaband phone... Completely owned some guy yesterday that said you can't unlock the note and use their 3g on tmobile

AT&T corporate store employees make more on iPhones, indirect agents (authorized retailers) make nothing on iPhone sales.. not even the data plans. So it really depends what type of store you're in. Personally I enjoy when someone knows the tech they're talking about. Although it is quite funny watching people try to convince me the iPhone is better than everything else.

You have some more research to do. The skyrocket & note are unique in this way.
Just remember that for most people that work at those places they could give a **** about most everything there, they are just trying to do their job. Those stores have high turnaround in alot of cases and employees aren't required to know everything about devices.
And technically going by ppi the 4S is better. He couldn't tell you why though. And i would rather have the Notes screen that the tiny iPhone any day.

So I was helping a guy at the home depot I work at. I saw the Guy had a S2 skyrocket and asked him how he liked it, then I showed him my Note I just got. Turns out he works for AT&T corporate. He new about the Note but wasn't really familiar with it, so I got my gadget geek on and showed off what the Note can do and then talked about the network around Atlanta.
So I went into work for an hour today to help out on a special order and I had a message with a contact number. So I call and it's someone from at&t, she told me that Guy I helped was so impressed with my knowledge and passion on mobile that he gave the info he had on me to her. Now she wants me to come in and discuss opportunities with business sales. It's face to face stuff mostly (not a call center).
Update: Got an interview on Tuesday at one of their corporate offices.
Update2: So I interviewed with them on Tuesday and it went very well. They said they have some in house promotions about to happen in a few weeks to a month and they would be contacting me again when they know more about the upcoming opens on their floor. It would be a 8-5 job with base salary and commission with business sales in the mobility division.
"Buy a galaxy note, get a job offer."
New marketing campaign.

I could sell the sh*t out of some phones. Haha. It's funny how uninformed the sales clerks are at some stores. I literally saw an At&t employee trying to sell an iPhone to a guy based purely on Siri, and couldn't even get it to work. Her explanation was that "it just doesn't work sometimes, but it's still a really great feature"
Sad thing was, the guy walked out with an iPhone that day. If only I could have saved his poor soul...

I had a post about this the other day and I totally can agree... its bad how they will hire people who don't know what they are doing but you get a bad rap from the go ernment and they wont hire you even though it was in the general basis... I went to three different att and a bestbuy asking he managers about the note not even two weeks ago and they acted like I was talking about space travel -.-

This actually happened to me too! Except not with a Galaxy Note and not AT&T but Verizon! I knew more than the guy they were training and actually troubleshooted a customer and the regional sales manager offered me a job! Too bad I don't go to school where I live :/

No he Just remembered my name and gave a description of me to a coworker and she called my HD and left a message with a number to contact her. I didn't know what it was for when I called. Then she telling me that I impressed this Guy so much and asked me if I would be interested in changing careers.

Got my interview scheduled and she asked me about being able to work full-time. So I think that's a good sign.
I got a new job that came with a company car and an iPhone.
I am very happy about the car, the iphone not so much. I gave the iPhone fare chance (3 weeks) before deciding that I officially hate it. I have decided that I will be keeping my personal line (Evo 3D) and only use the iPhone for business stuff. I really don't see what the obsession is with the iPhone. IMO the iPhone 4s is crap when compared to my Evo 3D. The only thing that I like about it is that it feels like a solid phone, I don't think it could withstand a drop all to well though.
When I went into the apple store to buy a case for my iPhone this weekend the person asked me how long have I owned this iPhone for and I told her about 3 weeks. She then asked me how do I like it and being the honest person that I am I told her that its the biggest pos on the market right now and if I would have spent my own money on it I would have returned it the first day. I don't think that she expected to get an answer like that because she had a look on her face like I just shot her entire family. Needless to say she didn't help me pick out my case.
Question for anyone thats ever been in an apple store, doesnt it feel like you just walked into a cult. These people are like mindless sheep just grazing on the BS that is apple. I don't think I ever want to go back. Well that the end of my book.

No a simple it's not for me would have been fine. It's the biggest pos is overkill. The girl didn't build the phone,design the phone, or is tim cooks sister. She probably makes 10 bucks an hour and has a boss breathing down her neck about being nice to people. It's the same in any store be it a fruit product or an android product, or mcdonalds.

I get the same feeling when I go into the local Att Store. 3 or 4 people standing there doing nothing. I have an Att Data plan and went in there to discuss some problems and they told me to call Att. I said well isn't this Att?

I wasn't nasty to the girl, I just gave her my opinion. I didn't yell and I wasn't trying to be a **** it just came out. You are under the impression that I went in there with an additude and I was trying to be a jerk. I was just trying to make conversation. I didn't say anything negative towards her at all. If someone asks me how I like a product that they are selling I am gonna tell them how I like the product.

You know he may not have said the actual words or even pos.to the person people do change stories to make them more dramatic even if they don't mean to hell he could have said its junk but put pos to give us a laugh. Many times i've walked up to people working who have been berated by customers and told them to not worry and they did fine. There are too many a-holes in the world. Think if it was your son or daughter who was working the counter. It's still just a phone or a burger or whatever.

Only people I recommend iPhone to is those that aren't very tech savy because as long as they can tap icons they can work an iPhone. I can't have a phone with so much user limitations as the iPhone.
I remember one day I was with a few friends having dinner. Total of about 12 phones. 5 of them were androids.. Nobody's android phone looked the same physically and the homescreens were all nice and customized. The iPhone users were about 7 and they all looked the same. Most even had the same wallpaper. Reassured my love for Android.
I have nothing against apple.. It's just not for me.

Either way, people choose (directly or indirectly) to work in those jobs. They knew the risks of dealing with the public.
About 80-90% of everyone in the general public is an asshole. You gotta be able to take a joke when you work food service or retail.

Lol. When I went to pick out my first smart phone it was between the iPhone 4 and the HTC evo. I had done all the research and it came time to actually go to the store and look at the time. I was honestly going into it with an open mind after putting my apple hatred aside. I looked at the iPhone first and while it did have a very nice design, it just felt so boring. All you have is a background with a bunch of icons laid over it. I told the lady I wasn't impressed and I was thinking about the evo and she goes oh well we will have the HTC aria very soon I think you would like that. I kind of laughed and walked out lol.
Then I went to the sprint store. The evo blew my mind. The screen was HUGE, and I'm a sucker for big screens. Then it had all the widgets and the live wallpaper. And it had a freaking kick stand! I was sold right there.
Since then I've only grown to love android even more and everything you can do with it. My brother bought me the new iPad for my graduation and while the screen is incredible, again goes back to my first thoughts of ios. It's just so bland and boring. Browsing the web is very nice but that's about all I use it for.

I did that a few years ago when my car was towed. Came in and dropped 250 rolls of pennies on the counter. It would have been better if it was just loose change. Strange but true, a lot of banks dont keep that much change on hand. I had to go to 3 different banks to get that much change. Would have been f**king awesome if Samsung really did that though

Funny thing is that nickels are the one denomination made now a days that at times can be worth more than face value.

Eh doubt it. Any coin is a legal tender for all debts. I paid for McDonalds once with $100 bill, where their sign said that they won't accept anything over $20. They *****ed a bit, but took it.

Sad to say my gf traded her note yesterday after paying retail for it 4 months ago, she traded for an iPhone. :banghead:
But here's the deal. She traded thru craigslist, we all met at att to get new sim cards, i told my gf to drop the ins on the note (I sat in the car) when she was done she said the clerk was trying to reset it because it was used and because its jail broken, the reset was talking forever so they aborted. The clerk than said that they can transfer the ins from the note to the iPhone, I wasn't aware that they could ins a used device not too mention its jailbroken which they're aware of. Secondly, the iPhone was adverticed as a 5 month old 4s, after some research I found out that its an iPhone 4, and it could be years old. She doesn't seem to care but I do...she got ripped off. She thinks he bought it used and was under the impression it was a 4s. Sorry guys, this has been bugging me since last night. I'm still surprised that its covered by ins, but I wonder about the warranty?

The LG Thrill is, in my opinion, the worst android phone I've ever used.
I can't wait for the day when I can get rid of it. I'd sell it for $0.50 if I thought someone would actually buy it.

I bought my wife an S3 to (hopefully) replace her iPhone 3, but she hated it. Didn't make it a week before she happily exchanged it for an iPhone 4.
I don't get it, but obviously none of us do.

The LG Thrill is, in my opinion, the worst android phone I've ever used.

I didn't notice your second portion on your first reply "why didn't I check it out? Well, I stayed in the car the whole time, figured we could trust this guy since apparently we know each other from years ago and that we have mutual friends. It didn't even cross my mind that it may not be a 4s until we got home. To the untrained iPhone eye you can't tell the 4 apart from the 4s...there is only 2 physical differences that I know of, 1 is that the 4s has 4 black stripes around the edges were as the 4 only had 3. The other one (just learned today) is the volume switch is in a slightly different location.

i am starting to get a bit worried myself to be honest. between the lack of advertisement (you barely hear about this phone) and the lack of accessories, i am really hoping that this doesn't end up being a flop.
I've heard the advertisement concern a few times, but I'm not sure why. I've seen a bunch of TV commercials here in Atlanta for it. And that's even with DVR'ing almost all of our shows.

In RI, most AT&T stores don't even carry them. A lot don't even have the phone on display! I had to make a special trip to a town out of my way to pick this phone up, and they even said they only get about 2 at a time

Advertising is one thing...I'm talking actual sales numbers....development and testing of new firmware cost LG big bucks and they aren't gonna do it for a" small" crowd. They are busy right now planning the release of the successor to.this phone to compete with Sammy I'm sure and to iron out the wrinkles in this their first high-end smartphone designed to compete with the big wigs...just saying
Just look at these forums...ghost towns....I have a nexus 4 and an s3 and there is no comparison when it comes to traffic!

I would say at max in the U. S. 50-70k units have moved... honestly im guessing more in the realm 18,366 units as of last tuesday... but thats only wild speculation.

Hard to really say. I don't know of any official numbers but, I think I was the first person to get mine at the local best buy and that was a month after it launched.
Since then my brother and girlfriend have both gotten one.
I'm still a bit nervous about a lack of developers.

i see ads on tv all the time here in south florida and there arent many on our craiglist but its loaded with sgs3 and note 2 haha i think most folks dont really know about it i didint know untill i actually went to buy the note to and saw it on display and after playing with both devices i chose the optimus g and would do it again if given the choice i think lg got a bad name in the begining but the og is one heck of a device
My att store had taken the display off the shelf. Not really sure why. The sales person also didn't realize the HTC 1X+ was in the store and on display.
I am still looking for a case.
