Exploring this driving mode thing. Android noob.
Questions:
Is there a way to replace the "navigation" setting to open in Waze?
Also, is there a way to to make the brightness of the screen change on opening and closing car mode? I usually run on 15% or so brightness but would like it to go to full brightness in car mode and back to 15% again when I close car mode.
Thoughts? Thanks!

It seems that a new landscape mode app was included in the new update. Is there a chance I could get that apk ripped?

Is there no way to get it?
This drives me absoulty bonkers, that the phone doesn't turn landscape. I can understand they don't want to program the widgets to do that. But all I want is one screen while I'm at work that will turn landscape that will give me some basic info. Mainly email and a couple of widgets. This is my biggest frustation with this phone.
I would like to get this apk too. I have a stock rom, first OTA update and nothing for landscape mode installed. I had my phone in some weird mode after plugging in a car charger. The car dock app came up and when I hit the home button, I got the home screen. Turned the phone landscape and the home screen turn landscape. Every screen was able to turn to landscape now but when I made a call, the speaker phone enabled automatically. My phone was this way even after killing the car dock app. I thought there was some update to allow landscape but after pulling the battery, no more auto speaker phone (what I wanted) but the landscape mode was gone too. Has anyone else seen this?
Hi all,
So if you are on Android 4.2+, you may already know the feature called Daydream, which is essentially a screensaver that activates when the phone is docked or charging. I'm very fond of how minimalistic the screensaver clock is, and I would like to put my phone in this Daydream mode and wrap it on my wrist so that it acts as a low power "smart watch".
Question is, I can't seem to figure out how to keep Daydream awake without having to keep the phone plugged in.
1. I used various "wake lock" apps that can keep screen awake in regular cases, but they all don't work in Daydream.
2. I tried an app named Car Mode Enabler which sends a sticky "car mode" intent. The phone thinks it's docked and goes into Daydream, but it would still shut the screen after some time.
3. I tried to find an app that sends charging intents (so as to simulate a charging behavior) but to no avail.
So can anyone get me out of this? You can either tell me how to make Daydream stay on, or even better, tell me if there's an app that functions like Daydream (white clock on black background, with system font). Thanks in advance!
Im using 2 apps Rotation Control to lock on orientation mode and Power Toggles to toggle sleep mode.
Rotation Control:
I use it to lock on landscape mode all the time. But with some apps, it still opens in portrait mode and even set to auto mode. Still it wont turn to landscape mode at all and can only use it on portrait mode! Some apps, it still opens in portrait mode, but after turned on auto mode and turn the tablet to landscape mode and I can lock it to landscape. But still very annoying to do this every time. it happens. I have never such problem in all mine apps in all mine previous tablets. Only on this M5 tablet.
Power Toggle:
I use this widget to toggles between sleep time. Ex set it to 3-10 min and after a while it turns auto back to 30 sec!
Anyone can tell me what the heck is going on? Is it the tablet/EMUI or apps causing this?
Rotation Control works perfectly for me, although I primarily force auto rotation. I'm rooted if it makes a difference (I don't think it does).
If you use a third party app/widget to change screen brightness or timeout, the value resets after you turn the screen off. That's an EMUI thing, I think. There is probably a work around (I would try freezing iAware if rooted) although I have learned to roll with it. Kindisplay does work to keep the screen on where movement is detected.

I managed to solve orientation problem to allow Rotation Control for app overlay. But the annoying Android system shows up in status bar and can't get rid of that message.
I suspected that was EMUI thing, reset to 30 sec. But can't find any solution to this stupid feature.
This will be mine first and last Huawei device. Good quality but crap software.

That's and Android thing I believe, not EMUI. You can get rid of the notification by following these instructions:

Hey Everyone,
I updated to Pie on my V30 (H932) after the flashable zip was released, and noticed this eco playback when I connect my phone to a USB C display. Oreo didn't have this, and I'm having a hard time finding whether this can be disabled or not. I would LOVE to disable it since it dims my display, and puts up a message about swiping to bring the phone out of eco playback mode. There is an option to tap a floating icon and choose to keep the screen on, but it seems to randomly revert back to dimming the screen when idle (watching a video on the external display). As of me posting this, the icon is actually stuck on (icon is still on my screen after disconnecting the display), and I'm sure it will go away after rebooting my phone, but I'm not wanting to reboot right at this time. Does anyone know if this can be disabled? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Oh, and just another note, the big reason I'm hoping that this can be disabled is that when I'm using the USB C display, I also have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard connected and in closer reach than my phone is, and when the eco playback message is on the screen, you're not able to click anything until you swipe or click and drag to the side to clear the message.
I'd like to know how to manually launch the Assistant Ambient Mode on a Lenovo tablet. While I find that it launches by itself once I plug in the device and then turn if off, if I start using the device and somehow dismiss it the device will not go back into ambient mode by itself. Is there any sort of hidden APK or deep linking I can use to programmatically trigger it after a certain amount of idle time, perhaps with a program such as Tasker?
