Sorry for causing any trouble but does anyone know what happened to my phone? I flashed WanamLite V7.2 ICS rom and i want to install another rom. When i put my phone into cwm recovery i wiped my phone and selected choose .zip file from sdcard but it turns out to be my external sd card. I found the .zip file when i choose choose .zip file from internal sd. So do i just flash using that option? Sorry imma noob ><
Yes. Flash using that option. Some versions of CW Recovery have them the wrong way around.
Are there differences between these two kind of installation in recovery mode?

I believe that chosing install "update.zip" just goes to your sd card and flashes a .zip with the name of update. Like when i rooted my gio, i used a zip called "update.zip". Install zip lets you choose which one you want to install/flash.
I did a search, but without reading through threads for days, I didnt find my answer easily accessible.
I have an S-Off'ed, rooted Rezound, running CleanRom DE 1.3 with Amon Ra Recovery.
I have a bunch of ZIP's that I keep on my ext-sd card in a folder labeled ZIPs, for quick access to them when I need. Its an organizational thing, as I would like to keep my ext-SD card from being cluttered with .zip files.
However, my question is this, in order to flash a .zip from the recovery, would I have to remove the .zip file I want flashed to the root of the ext-SD card prior to flashing or could I flash from the ZIP folder I created?
Yea you can flash from that folder. I keep zips in a folder on my sd card too and do it all the time.
Sent from my ICS Rezound
I tried using hiemdall suite to flash my kernel entered the command hiemdall suite flash --kernel zImage everything worked as far as installing the CWM and I can boot to the CWM recovery screen and download mode but not directly to a ROM i get stuck at the yellow triangle screen. I put cyogenmod 9 on my sd card and named it update.zip then went to recovery mode and mounted my sd card. I selected to option apply update from /sdcard/update.zip and it didnt work any ideas to get me back on track?

Get into CWM, hit install zip from SDcard and then if you put it in internal storage go to choose zip from internal sdcard and if you put it on your regular sd card choose zip from sdcard. Then just find the .zip file and select it. After its flashed wipe data.

...It's wherever you dragged it to. Check internal and external SDCard in Recovery sometimes they get mixed up

First try what ninja said...in CWM try both "install zip from sd card" and "install zip from internal sd card".
If you still cannot find it, it sounds like you just misplaced the zip file. Try downloading it again, make sure you place it in the root of the external sd card, and then from CWM select install zip from sd card.

From a quick google search it seems you are going to have to restart the process all over again! (YAY!!)

there is no zip file on the internal storage.
in recovery mode, start sideload.
worked with command - adb sideload rom.zip on windows 7 cmd
this actually pushed rom.zip file onto the storage of the device.
