Guys, is there any chance of rooting the phone without flash with odin or from the mobile odin?
Serve unlock root for ICS 4.0.3?
From already thank you very much.
PS: Sorry for my English is not very good
Look at the PhilZ-CWM6 custom kernel. It can be flashed in stock recovery and includes SuperSU, root, ClockworkMod Recovery and Busybox.
It is pure stock based, and doesn't have MMC brickbug.
Thanks for responding! But there would be some way that only makes you root, without installing a modified kernel and without CWM? is that I want nothing more root access

This method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794 doesn't flash a custom kernel, but do include CWM. Why don't you want CWM?

You're wrong pal, using the first method will only root your phone, no cwm nor custom kernel. its a single file u flash through stock recovery that gives you root and busybox, nothing else.
Thanks friend! Now I see it, I do not set it up yet because there is no custom rom, just want root : D

Try flashing a custom kernel through Odin on your PC. Plenty of guides on here and Google. That way you can flash cm through recovery. Keep an eye out for the kernel bug related to 4.0.4. Again lots of documentation on that too.

Thanks and one more thing, Is there any risk of getting my phone bricked during rooting part only? I mean we are not installing a firmware so why would the phone get bricked!

There is ALWAYS a risk when doing anything to your device. The level of risk is down to what you are doing and what state the battery is in etc.
As long at the rooted kernel you are flashing is compatible with the current firmware then all SHOULD be fine.

Stuck in bootloop
Hi,
So, this is what happened
I have a galaxy SII gt-i9100, About 5 months ago I rooted it and installed the galaxy nexus update to android 4.0.4. and everything was ok except it wasn't showing me the option to transfer via blue tooth (but that didn't bother me much). These were the things I used
1. GT-I9100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_4.0.1.4
2. Odin3 v1.83
3. GT-I9100_XWKI8_insecure
4. GT-I9100_XWKI8_original
Now, yesterday I a friend had galaxy S II i9100P and he updated the firmware using kies and it had working blue tooth. I thought ok let's change it to that and my blue tooth might work also. I was at work and I (in a hurry) tried rooting it with only Odin. No backup, No Clockwork  nothing. ( and "Now it's stuck at the startup screen. I can go to download mode and recovery mode but it has samusg recovery not clockwork. I don't know what to do and in need of help. I'd really appreciate a quick response. (hoping to get atleast the mass data back )
These were the only 2 things used.
1. Odin3 v1.83
2. I9100JPLPH_I9100OJPLPF_PAK

ok, the galaxy nexus update? you mean Jelly Bean or Supernexus / chamaleon?
I think that you've installed a stock ROM over a custom ROM and that's why you are stucked at the logo.
read a little bit about flashing because you are up for it.
Learn about SD card data when flashing and follow a tutorial to flash stock ICS 4.0.3 via odin thru Download mode.
Also make sure to flash a safe kernel so you wont get the brick bug (see warning post sticked in the general section).
I don't know what to put here...any ideas?
fixed.Thanks

Hello nice misters, i really need some help if someone is willing to:
Try flashing the attached "param.tar" as PDA in ODIN (no repartition!), that may clear up the issue. Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 ONLY[b/]

A friend of mine was *****ing with the little red exclamation on the upper-left part of his screen at boot and in his despair of re move it, just ignored/misread this quote of "Galaxy SII Only" and who-knows-what-passes-in-his-head, flashed param.tar this in a Galaxy SIII GT-i9300 (from this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114)
The phone was having the following symptoms:
1) Rebooting when shutting down screen.
2) The phone was entering recovery.
What has been done:
1) Entered recovery, formated /system and /cache and tried to install a custom rom (lastest Omega for Galaxy SIII) - did not work
2)Downloaded lastest leak that was flashable by ODIN and flashed by it. After that, entereed recovery and did a factory reset. Result: Phone is booting, but USB Media mount not working, bluetooth not working, and it seems that the phone is not entering in deep sleep.
There is anything that we can do? Thanks in advance.
Hi I just making a terrible mistake in flashing my Samsung Galaxy S3 to XXELLA ROM - BTU. By virtue of being the accountant changed in a hurry to resolve the issue, just passing the file via ODIN PARAM.TAR, available on the first page of this topic, then I notice that it was only for the Samsung Galaxy S2. What happens now is that my phone is restarting of 5 in 5 minutes and it is no longer recognized in USB. Someone would have to provide the correct PARAM.TAR for Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300)?
I think you have seriously messed things up, the param.tar for the S2 contains a param.lfs file, I am not sure if there is a way to remove it or if it even exists on the S3.
If it exists then perhaps someone could make a dump of it from their device (I'm not sure how to) and you would just flash it via Odin.
If they can't then all you can do is take it to service, and learn the lesson, read everything on a page before flashing anything, and take paticular note of anything in bold letters.
The param.lfs is flashed as raw image onto partition 4 of the NAND. i.e. /dev/block/mmcblk0p4.
You can try to reflash someone elses param.lfs, it cam be dumped on a command shell via
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 of=/sdcard/param.lfs
and you can then either put it in a .tar again and flash via Odin, or flash manually via
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/param.lfs of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
after copying it to the internal storage.

Why are so many peeps flashing the TA param file when Chainey makes it clear its for the s2????, this file doesnt need to be used.
If you look and search on the forum under pre-rooted stock firmware you will find an emergency flash for the s3.
Please, read the post carefully.

Hey Xda forums,
I've recently bought GS3 (Actually I've pre-ordered it so it's not so recently)
I have decided I want to root my device eventhough I've already got 4.1.1 Jellybean.
But when I went to rooting guides, they've told me to download the correct kernel for my device
which I can't find anywhere! whoever can help me find it will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

First you go to your phone’s Settings -> About Device and make sure your phone is GT-I9300
Turn off you Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
Go to recovery mode by pressing Volume Down + Power Button + Home Button all together
Then press Volume Up button when a warning shows up
Connect USB cable to your phone.
On your desktop, Extract the downloaded CF-Root file (.tar)
Open Odin3 and click on PDA
Choose the .tar from the extracted CF-Root folder
Then click Start
After the green PASS has appeared in Odin3, you can now remove the USB cable
You should be able to see SuperSU and CWM Manager installed in your Samsung Galaxy S3
That’s it! Congrats
HELP, i've downloaded countless versions of the Stock recovery MD5 file and none are working to unbrick my Verizon galaxy S4 Firmware ver:*VRUAME7 (came stock with this firmware when purchased) and nothing is working. I was trying to install the recovery files from "sxtpdevelopers"
After successfully rooting using the microSD card method, I stupidly installed GooIM and then tried to install twrp.. I forgot that this version of firmware didn't have the bootloader unlocked yet and when the I booted into recovery it took me straight to " firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." *I already tried KIES recovery but it asks for serial number. THERE NO DAMN serial numbers anywhere on the phone, battery, or box that work. (including IMEI)
I then figured DOWNLOAD MODE worked so let me flash the stock odin file but I keep getting a FAIL installation every time.
FYI; I'm using parallels for mac and windows 8 to run odin. all the com ports are ok and I know there isn't a connection problem.
Any help would be appreciated. THANKS.*

THANK YOU SO MUCH!.. The funny thing is I had downloaded "SCH-I545_VZW_1_20130613171315_24s13crny1_fac.zip" already in my trials and tribulations. Probably the one I downloaded was corrupt because this one installed with a breeze. The one located on that site worked instantly. Now if we can just get that bootloader unlocked. I wish was a programming genius sometimes, I would unlock it; then take that ransom and donate it. Thanks again
Just wanted to say thanks. I was able to use that link + Odin3 to get my friend's Verizon Galaxy S4 back to normal. Best Buy and a Samsung rep at the store were unable to handle this lol

Needing some help here guys, I've got a Verizon SCH-i605.
Phone was originally rooted and unlocked with casual when first released. Phone had always been on stock rom with root and custom recovery. Prior to the 4.1.2 OTA Update from Verizon I flashed factory Recovery followed by using Root Keeper to keep root and successfully updated to 4.1.2. Since that time phone had been kept on Stock Rom with root and factory recovery and life was good until today. The phone received the 4.3 update and it was decided to allow the update. During install the phone rebooted but got stuck on the black screen with the words "SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE II" that is first displayed when booting up. The phone will not boot past that point and just sticks to that screen. I attempted to book into factory recovery with no luck, but I've been able to boot into Odin.
Steps I have take:
I downloaded the 4.3 system files"VRUEMJ9" from imnuts http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040264
I used Odin3 v3.07 and placed the file in PDA and Odin states it was successful but the phone reboots and gets stuck back on the same "SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE II" Screen as mentioned before. At this point i'm at a loss. I flashed the sch-i605-16gb.pit file which was successful flash but no boot. I also tried flashing the system file back to 4.1.2 which failed so I reflashed the VRUEMJ9 File and now back to the same stuck boot screen. Does anyone have any suggestions at this point cause i'm stuck. Thanks in advance.

Did you put your phone in download mode before re-applying VRUEMJ9 with ODIN?
Yes. I got the phone into Odin each time I flashed it.
I had the same issue and this is how I got it working.
I start up the phone in download mode, connected to my pc, opened the verizon upgrade assistant and do a repair flash. That worked. I rooted using Kingo. However the bootloader is locked and you won't be able to use any custom recovery.

I start up the phone in download mode, connected to my pc, opened the verizon upgrade assistant and do a repair flash. That worked. I rooted using Kingo. However the bootloader is locked and you won't be able to use any custom recovery.

Amazing.. Thanks for your help. Had a little struggle finding the upgrade assistant so I had to pull it from my note 3 and install it with my note 3 before hooking up the note 2. But once it was installed on my computer it picked up the Note 2 in Odin Mode and worked perfectly.. Thanks again for your help..:good:
This was the solution I was searching for. the 4.3 update bricked my wife's note II. this fixed it. thanks.
