Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA
Wifi or 4G only...depending on which ROM you're using it should either say Edge or 4G...as I never seen the 3G Icon on stock or on NRGZ ROM. Only on xboarders 3.5 Sense ROM (an earlier build)
the phone is stock, no changes made yet
that sucks it cannot make video calls over 3g network
thank you

Smallest pros and cons list ever:
PROS:
-You're rooted! You can do nearly everything you want!
CONS:
-The minute you unlock it, your warranty is void (unless it's an hardware issue)
-With great power comes great responsibility. Be wise. Be very wise.
thanks, the only phone I ever work on is n900

Apps that come preloaded and you don't want/use that take up space and RAM. It's bloatware because its software that bloats your phone down

It really depends on your 3g network speed, and if your app supports 3g video chatting. I know for a fact that 3g is horrendously slow in some areas. My area has 0.70 Mbps download/0.80 Mbps upload 3g speed, while in metro areas, 3g can be up to 10 times faster. The fastest *3G* speed I've ever seen was 5 Mbps download/2 Mbps upload. That is more than enough for video chatting.

Being scared to root is completely understandable (to a degree), but you wrote that you were too lazy to root. I hope you can understand that being too lazy to root would be majorly frowned upon on a forum that is pretty much dedicated to rooting.

I had this too. It's Tmobile's "MobileLife contacts" app. If you have an unlocked T-Mobile (TMO) phone and are using it on AT&T or another non-TMO network it won't let the app connect to TMO's servers.
Use Titanium Backup or whatever you have that works to uninstall it (After a backup of course!).

I don't remember this feature in gingerbread. I thought it was only in custom roms... Either way, I'd also love to see this.
From what I've gathered, it's in the works. But, the devs are having problems with the coding? I remember one discussion of the code being present in Gingerbread but not in ICS.

It was a built in feature of gingerbread, was even one of the things they demonstrated during the gingerbread presentation. The reason you may think it was special for custom roms is that most carrier stock roms disabled it for whatever reason.

Can this be flashed using 4EXT or must it be renamed and flashed like any other stock ROM? (relocking bootloader, renaming file, etc)
Curious because I wanted to update to the "R2" version released by football..but might as well use this if it's already rooted and such, save a little time.
By the way, anyone know what the difference is between the latest ICS OTA and the "R2" version posted by football? (it wasn't posted in the Amaze forums, but it was posted on his filefactory account)
Kind if irritated that I even updated to ICS at all right now (used the OTA) because it seems to have totally borked WiFi calling (there's some kind of crazy delay that appears ~10 minutes into a phone call... other users getting the same thing). Really didn't want to S-OFF and revert to GB, though, so hoping this "R2" release fixed that
