Do a search for msl and look for user scuzzy19. I provided info about the phone to him and he pm'd the msl. I'm not sure if he can/will still do that.

[Q] How to enter Unlock Code?

My ATT contract is finally over and the gave me my carrier unlock code but they say I need a different carriers sim card for the box to enter the unlock code to show up and I have been asking around and everybody I know have ATT, Sprint or Verizon so no sim card available. I was hoping that there is another way to bring up the box to enter the unlock code some how.
Please advice
Cheers
I thought there was a key combination which pulled up the input box?

Is unlocking the GSM radio for AT&T illegal?

I was talking with my friend the other day he is an AT&T regional manager and he said that unlocking my photons gem radio and buying service with AT&T was a federal crime. I do not believe it is but can someone give me some better info on if it is or is not?

he is full of crap/ it's your phone you can do what you want with it. and i'd tell your friend if he doesnt know what hes talking about to STFU

Lots of people unlock their radio for AT&T, no one is in jail yet.
I think he just wants me to buy an ATT phone
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
either he is woefully ignorant or he is lying to you. If he is lying to you, than he is not your friend.
Well he it was illegal because of ESN writing but unlocking the GSM radio does not write an ESN correct?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
1. unlocking GSM radio is not ESN writing
2. ESN cloning of another phone you own and have not activated is not illegal (i.e. you are not using 2 phones with the same ESN on a network)
3. ESN cloning of a phone you do not own for the intent of stealing signal is illegal.
Hmmm do GSM networks even use ESN's?

are you in a sprint service area? try rebooting the phone. find a good spot where you should have the signal and hope for the best! if you get a signal dial *228 to activate it.
http://www.everythingwm.com/forum/threads/sprint-signal.9891/
Couldn't hurt.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
Try this
Go to dialer and type *#*#4636#*#*
Go to phone settings and try different settings aside from cdma auto (eg cdma only or evdo only) and then reboot it in that setting
Once rebooted switch back to cdma auto and see if your fixed.
If that doesn't work you can manually change prl
So mess around in these setting and a solution should be there.

Ok so i got to those setting but i just notice the imei number is missing ???

no phone number... interesting.. maybe it needs to be factory restored with an SBF. it's obviously not programmed though. what did you do to it? before trying to activate it? was it purchased this way?
No i had it for awhile at first it said failed to boot 4 and so i fixed it with this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798145
And thats how i was abke to fix it i flashed all the stuff it asked to and now it says no service but better than being brick is there anything i can flash to be able to get it to work on sprint towers

Im on 2.3.5 and so i know my options are limited but i am rooted

Uhhh, if you know the esn number from some other form: tools like cdma workshop cam help you restore it. The only thing is not even stores have this software so you will just have to search around for esn editor. WARNING tools like this can be seen as illegal because tools like this can be used to duplicate phone identities.

please list everything you have done step by step.
seems you might not have the proper modules.
do you have your msl #?
Yeah i followed everything thing step by step wats that?
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
I flashed the electrify spf file then flashed the photon stock rom from the description and then flashed that file in the description with bootstrap and then flashed the spf (also in the description) then flashed that last file woth bootstrap all the files i got were in the description
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
Wats esn #? And msl #??
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
Just to be clear as this can be a little tricky
1 flash full electrify sbf via rsd
2 flash 2.3.5_254_13 sv2 boot, recovery and cdrom image sbf via rsd from here
3 root
4 install bootstrap recovery
5 install stock locked rom 254_12 or higher via bootstrap
if you are still getting no service try step 6
6 install photon radio via bootstrap
if these steps are follow all should be well
is your wifi functioning?
Ok do u know were i can get all thiae files and yes im currently using wifi to be able to use my phone
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
Oh and tge phone not recognizing the serial number im guessing
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
OK well if your WiFi is working sounds like your modules are installed correctly my guess is you need to install the proper radio.
Ok so i was trying to get the msl # and i got this ??? Nothing so it seem like the phone is completly wiped no serial number no imei number nothing is there something i have to flash to get all of it bak ? And wat radi do i need to flash

Yes that's what I'm talking about. I didn't realize they were unique to the phone. Learn something new everyday. Any pointers you can give me? Not trying to profit. Just doing this for myself. No way I could do it for a living. Seems like a very long process flashing cdma phones.

I have mine flashed to Cricket, but only because I have an older CDMA number that I have been sitting on for years. AT&T just bought Cricket in May, so they are in the process of converting from the CDMA network to the GSM network. So that means all new Cricket activations have to be new GSM numbers and they are no longer activating new MDN's on the old CDMA network. With that said, I believe there might be a way to unlock this device for GSM use. I've seen threads about it. I'd recon all you'd need is the new Cricket APN settings to manually program for data, and I'm sure you can get a hold of that easily. I will have to eventually convert over to their new GSM network too, so I have been thinking about unlocking it using the methods in another thread. If I decide to do so within the next week I'll let you know how it turned out.

Yes u can Unlock it for any GSM carrier and get HSP+ or you can flash(manually reprogram CDMA devices) to any CDMA carrier such as Pageplus Boost Mobile or even old MetroPCS CDMA network..the GSM unlock is the easiest if ur not a custom to flashing devices[emoji4]
Can you help me do it

I fully flashed mine to Boost without a problem. I would be more than willing to help
