All,
I've been lurking on here since I got my Xperia Ray, and I am in the USA. Uploaded.to is blocked for anyone in the US for unknown reasons. Half of these great ROMs I would like to try are on uploaded.to, and I cannot download them. Please, if you would be so kind, use an alternate upload service in addition to uploaded.to.
Thanks!!!!

just read the thread carefully. i also hope they would upload another website. In CM FXP thread, u may find that he asked us not to make any mirror link 4 their download count. BTW, the team shows u the way to use upload.to.
Here is the way:
[IF YOU CAN NOT DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY USE
anonymouse.org
rapid8.com
jdownloader.org
sv4.vietget.net
or any free proxy from another country
FOR BETTER DOWNLOAD SPEED
to improve speed register to uploaded.to
you will get 1 download/hour and double bandwith]
Hope that may help u
BTW, u might have made a mistake that u post the thread in the wrong place. This kind of thread should not appear in the development forum but in [Q] and [A] thread.

I understand that you think this is in the wrong section, but this needs maximum visibility. Mods can actually close this because I figured out a way to get through to uploaded.to. But for those less savvy, I am hoping developers start using other uploading services as well.

Funny you should post that, none of those sites work, and at least one is a spam site. I don't get it... if it doesn't pertain to you, leave it alone and let it sink to the bottom of the forums. I just want the devs to see this. Also, there is no Q or A in my thread.

No idea what you're saying, and I don't think you do "got what i mean". I see the Q&A thread, that's great. There isn't, however, a question or an answer in my thread. Please carry on.
Mods, you may as well delete this whole thread now as it has been trolled thoroughly.
Firstly he didn't post any questions so it doesn't belong the q&a topic.
Second and most important: the topic is in the dev forum because it is meant for the devs to see, since many users are having problems with this file host and the devs are being ignorant about the issue.
And no using proxies is not a solution neither is it user friendly!

Absolutely agree. Uploaded.to is more or less the worst file upload service I've ever used. It's frustratingly slow, when I tried to register their registration form was broken, and the one-file-per-hour limit means if there's more than one file to download, I have to turn to proxies which slow my download further.
There are alternatives. mediafire is a very good alternative, but rapidshare in my experience isn't bad either. There's also dropbox, though I've heard that slows downlods somewhat.
I'd (maybe) be willing to contribute a download server if for some reason nobody can agree on a good file host :/

Use jdownloader. Its a download app. Its the best...
I always use it for FXP downloads....... ;-)

Here you can see that they get a part of the profit from ads and premium users by having a link to uploaded.to and/or having download links leading too uploaded.to
Edit: that is probably why some devs using uploaded does not like mirrors.

This is exactly it. Uploaded.to probably offers greater referral earnings than other, less monstrously awful, file hosting solutions.
While one can hardly blame the devs for trying to scrape in a few cents for their otherwise payless work, the ****tyness of uploaded.to really approaches the limit of what is acceptable. Surely the increased payout can't be worth the absolutely horrendous service that uploaded.to provides?

Errrm Free is something different. What you find there are Warez....
To the OP: Sorry but i cant resist --> Search the Forum !!!
@youngace2k5 - use the marketplace app on your handset, or try the devs site for the demo trial. please do not request other members to give you links, because they will get other members into trouble for providing links to warez sites and promo illegal material. which is strictly forbidden. If that was your request? dont ask it here, you can do that research on your own...
helpful advice is "try handango.com its a decent site for games and so forth." also "xda marketplace" may have games in development stage for you to test at no cost to you. please be wise with your request!!!
Please remove links to warez folks. this doesnt comply to our rules here at xda
Thread moved to Q&A. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you are asking for freeware games and not requesting warez. As aoakes mentioned, it is against XDA rules to request, share, or discuss ways of getting warez.
I checked the link provided here, and I don't see anything at all in there. (just an empty blog)

This "interweb thingy" left me speechless for a while, such a brilliant invention, why, oh why it's being kept in obscurity?
PS. nothing new, but there is nice helper for this whole google thingy, so if the OP is still loking for games, some can be found here.

In order that to create several rom of the same work the worst thing consists of the fact that they do not develop if not that copies them... & by the way he's back now as expected, he just does this sort of thing once in a while, don't worry
Allow that it should work to the final if what they want is to improve his rom write to him directly for q correct or add something let's expect to see the end of this project
Please don't post such stuff in the development section. Also, each time someone posts in this thread, it will bump down a useful ROM or something to the next page
Yes.. please there are other threads to discuss this in .. like the general section.

Just because you believe it doesn't make it so.
Last I checked, fileserve was still up and running and in addition, every release of my kernel is hosted directly from XDA, so those links are DEFINITELY working fine.
So you clearly didn't search much at all - there are AT LEAST two rooting avenues for UCKK6, BOTH of which are documented IN THE FAQ!
Wow. Listen guys, I'm sorry my search skills aren't as good as yours. Or maybe you spend a lot more time on here than I do, so you're able to follow the progress better. I'm sorry, really. I don't mean to inconvenience anybody. Just looking for some help, from what I thought was helpful community of people sharing information - that I'm having trouble finding.
Secondly, I found a thread with other 500 pages. SOrry, but I'm not reading that entire thing. That's the problem with shutting down people who post new threads about something. Threads get so large, information gets lost. Like I said, I was just asking for some help.
Entropy: I didn't see any links to fileserve, or any files hosted on XDA. I saw this thread after following a link in the FAQ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
but it has links to megaupload (obviously down), and multiupload which didn't seem to work.
Seriously, if it's too much trouble for anyone to point me in the right direction then I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Have good days.

Then dont expect someone to hand you your answer if you're not willing to put forth effort yourself. And certainly dont expect to receive nice responses when you state that you wont read for yourself.
As already stated here, the FAQ has everything you need.

MOD EDIT: full post will be made available soon.
I always thought that installing and using PC Companion is pretty straight forward, and that there is no need for instructions, but I guess I was wrong
I was checking this guys history earlier, trying to figure out if he was a spam poster or a 10-poster. Guess I was wrong on both counts, just someone trying to steal traffic from XDA. I would suggest reporting to your forum's mod and let them figure out whether to close it down or to simply let everyone add him to the ignore list until he figures it out.
lol, come on guys, give em a little credit, he tried his best
He is new
He is trying HIS best
grow up!!!
grow up dude ... we are not childs..
I don't believe it is within the rules to post the first couple steps here as a teaser and then the rest on a site other than XDA. It is not about the guy trying or not, and frankly I challenge you to read his first 10 posts and tell me how hard he was trying, but about how things work on XDA. It is perfectly OK to post your blogsite address in your Sig or somewhere, but it is NOT ok to do it in the fashion he has done it above. This needs to be reported if he doesn't change it. Sorry.
Edit: No changes, reported.

New On XDA or New With Your S3, Here are few Things You Need To Remember Before Posting in the 'General Q&A section' about your Issues.
Here You See And Learn Many More Things When Your Are New On Xda
A Very Nice Detailed Info By Saywhatt
[HOW TO] make a substantial THREAD, POST, QUESTION and POLL
[GUIDE] HOW TO POST: Understanding the UI in posting
[HOW TO] make a substantial THREAD, POST, QUESTION and POLL
Huge Thanks To Saywhatt For Sharing Knowledge
So Here We Go ,
Well we always do notice that people in the 'General Q&A section' are not putting nearly enough information in their Post and Title to get proper solution to ther issues.
Reasons:
[*] A bad Title like ' plz help', ' urgent', 'phone dead' etc.
[*] No relavent info about the phone Model/ ROM/KERNEL/MODEM etc in there post.
Since insufficient info causes hindrence for members who are willing to help and leads to ask lots of questions from them and the very same(lack of info) will delay getting the solution for you.
So this Guide will show you what you need to include in your post to get the most efficient answer to your question.
We'll start with the Title:
- Just Writing Help , Bricked , Guys Help Me out Wont Be Enough For People Having knowledge Of You’re your Issue To Help You Out.
Provide A Better Title Like
“ I Soft Bricked My Phone “
“ Having Kernel Issues”
- You need to be precise, and describe what you're looking for in your thread.
Next, the Information you need to state before you even get into asking your question.
Dont Start Off Or Just Dont Write 'I Flashed This Rom/Kernel And Cannot Boot Up or Stuck At Logo / Boot Loop plz help' and sit and wait for solution's to pour in for you.
Rather try to provide more basic info like:
- The make of your phone. There are many different variants of your device Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 /G/M/P/T
- What Rom/Kernel/Modem you are using?
- Are you rooted/unrooted?
- Have you flashed any mods/scripts/themes?
- Have you changed DPI? If yes, to what?
- Have you done anything to try to solve your issue prior to posting the same?
since these would be very valuable information,
which do aid a member who is ready to help with your issue for sure.
Additionally, visual aids like 'Screeen shot' or a small 'Video clip' will help a lot in resolving issue's in a better way for sure.
For people who are with Stock Rom's:
Please dial *#1234# and post the results (thanks to fxrb) if your not sure about the Rom/Kernel/Modem info.
And also adding the relavent info of ROM/Kernel/Modem to ur signature will save time in providing the same.
After You Completed The Above Steps Its Time When you can ask your question.
And do Remember:
- Do not ask "What rom/kernel/theme is the best?" -or- Something that you have not searched for (it is infact very obvious if you havent), since its against XDA rule
- Be specific and precise in what you want/need. Do not write a 10,000 word essay, or a 3 word question.
And Always Remember On Xda The Most Important Rules :
- Be polite: People never want to help someone who wont appreciate it, or is rude to them. Remember your p's and q's
- Do not bump your thread: It gets annoying and against the rules
This is just a begining and will take a bit to include all of the information needed.
I know there are lots of more experienced users than I, and would love feedback of what to include.
Please do not hesitate to post in the thread or even PM me with your valuable inputs you think needs to be included in this thread.
Reserved
and another one if needed
and one more
well its a pretty decent effort from ur end for sure Buddy
now its the people (new Comers) who has to utilize the same in an efficient way
and if its made 'Sticky' by the Mod's, will be more helpfull

A useful guide for noobs but unfortunately as is always the case on XDA it will probably get lost in translation and as usual you'll have people on asking the same usual questions, the only solution as ive said all along is when people register on XDA as part of the sign up process they must tick a disclaimer that they need to use the search function and if they don't and ask noobish questions they get a temporary ban for a week and if after that they persist a full ban, it might sound extreme but as far as i can see this really is the only solution to stop noobs from posting the same questions day in, day out, year in, year out, it seriously has to be implemented, many good people have left XDA from when i first came on here because of noobs and to be honest you can hardly blame them, pretty much every answer noobs want is highly likely to already be on XDA somewhere and can be found via the search function.
