Hi,
I have a problem with my xperia mini pro.
I bought it used.
I tryed to upgrade with pc companion but it told me software modified error.
I put an original firmware 0.62 with flashtool.
I find keyboard problem as for example ''!'' is not under ''?'' but it's under ''''''
so I try to make a 'repair' with pc companion but it told me again 'software modified'
so I find with flashtool message that BL is unlocked.
1) it's BL the problem with pc companion? I've definitely lost warranty?
2) any suggestions for keyboard problem?
3) how can I lock again BL? I find tons of guide of unlocking but nothing about locking, maybe it's all about write 'fastboot oem lock' instead of 'fastboot oem unlock' in the relative guide?
thanks
I decide to give back the phone and buy a new one.
You can close this thread, sorry I can't find any button delete it all.
how to fix
It was too simple to fix the problem.
I am from Russia, so the keyboard layout is different withe the original english qwerty.
If someone else have that issue follow this steps:
ROOT NEEDED
but you will hardly have similar issue using the latest stock.
Using any root explorer go to the folder
Code:
/system/usr/keyboard-config/layouts
find your language layout file and open it using any text editor
find the line
Code:
<Script name="latin">
allocate this line and all lines till the end
Code:
<Script name="latin">
SOME CODE
</Keyboard>
then open the file
qwerty-en.xml (in similar folder)
allocate all code from the line
Code:
<Script name="latin">
to the line ...
Code:
</Keyboard>
...like you did in the previous step. delete all allocated code and then paste the code taken from your layout file.
Save and exit the text editor.
Reboot the phone.
Have fun!

are you shure that @ key and other layout worked well before your attempt to modyfy the system?
try the symbols and numbers layout and if it is incorrect - try my tutorial above your post.
thank you very much Kadr!
the most important thing for me is the warranty, I know BL could be locked again but I don't know if the previous owners have lost drm so the phone lost the warranty..

DRM is lost. BL was unlocked (maybe is relocked)
about TrackID - you can download another from market. it will work
I've got all the answers I needed. Thank you!
Thanks kadr, your fix solved my problem, the keys now work with their correct values
i've noticed that every time the phone keyboard was wiped out, it scrambled all again, but lurking on system/usr/keyboard-config i've found that in the keyprint.xml file the script for latin keys was settled to arabic....
i've changed it to
<Script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-en"/>
and taa daaa! after a reboot it worked out perfectly, thanks for the previous help and i apologise for my bad english

you didn't get the device id correct... Try again with another one. I would suggest using SEUS and using the one click root if you don't get the divece id right.
How do i get the device id? i used the x10root but did not manage to see any deviceID

You have to make a decision, either you use the "5 step root" OR the "One Click Root".
Using the One click Root method requires no knowledge of the device id.
Just use Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) and update your phone to the latest and greatest, and then run the x10root.apk to get rooted.
That's it !
Okay, Thanks. I got everything working.
Glad to have helpful people in this forum
I have the 020 on the x10a, and update service still says its up to date. Anyone got the x10a to 026? If so, how did you do it?

were u from,, same happend to me but i redownload SEUS and run the update service and then it work fine
My x10a was on r2ba016 and was saying it was up to date. I used original root method as it debrands phone aswell as updating and rooting. Currently running 026

i already rooted my phone. anyone know how to update to 026? I dont see the roms in decrytd rom
Just follow instructions in the root package, it doesn't matter if you are already rooted. It's the best way I can think of

So, when I have a branded Vodafone X10, Dutch 024 and I only want to debrand it, I could do the root-apk and then it is debranded as well? So then I can run SEUS and update it to 026?

Nightsidewinder--What method did you use to debrand??
Thanks in advance.

it you want to update to Generic_R2BA026
go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
and download Generic_R2BA026 and Flash Tool (can unbrick X10i with provided files)
intructions:
1.unpack both .zip folders (i_R2BA026 & X10FUB) and copy all files R2BA026 folder to X10FUB folder (flash app folder)
2.follow the instructions from flash folder
2.1.) Open regedit and press Ctrl+F to open search window:
Search for "USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\"
You will find the "DeviceInstance" should look like this :
"USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\1&23cfa456&7&8"
copy the last part "1&23cfa456&7&8" into the DeviceID.txt file. Don't paste any free lines/blocks before or after!
2.2.) Start X10flash.bat in X10FUB folder
2.3.) Connect X10 in flash Mode:
a) Power down
b) Hold "back" Key
c) connect USB cradle on PC
If the LED is green everything is good!

Cheers for the guide Salthach.Having one small problem though.Total noob question!!!
Do I have to have the phone connected before I search the registry for the key above??Ive tried it without the phone connected and the search comes up with nothing found.
Also I got my x10 unlocked with a network unlocking code--Will the X10 still be unlocked when I debrand??
Thanks

1. connect your Device but do not mount SD card
2. Open regedit and press Ctrl+F to open search window:
Search for "USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\"
or
download this it will help you find DeviceID
http://rapidshare.com/files/404363083/i_R1FA16_ft.rar.html
Thanks to Synlar
2. Unrar i_R1FA16_ft.rar
3. Open the DeviceID.jar in 1st folder
this should give you 2 Device ID. try one, if dosen't work, try another.
This is our functional workaround to the issue (Unlocked bootloader only):

correct! If you want to acces root you now have to download http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...de-root-cwm-unlock-bootloader-custom-t2403929 that and run the runme.bat file. Connect your phone and you should be running ICS 4.0.4. I had the 89 when I rooted. Enable usb debugging, you can search on how to do that and after that you connect your device to your pc and click 1 on the runme.bat file and hit enter. Wait for the magic and if you are stuck at ''if succes i will tell you'' part, wich I was. Just unplug your phone, reboot and go to your appdrawer and find the ''make a copy and restore'' app and click on find a copy and click on ''root'' (something like that) and after that click restore. Reboot and then download kingroot, the latest is recommended. And roooooooot . After that you may want to replace the kingroot root authorizer with super su. This is optional but I recommend it. Follow http://androidmtk.com/replace-kinguser-with-supersu that tutorial and you should be good to go!
Well this thread is extremely old so I suppose it should be closed.

I got sony ericsson WT19i I try to unlock bootloader via Test point and I it look's like work but can't flash custom kernel (phone has simlock) and next step what I try was it is edit TA (in flashtool) and now after that my phone not boot at all, not even show charging battery, probably I damage bootloder . In Omnius for SE via test point I try click fix S1 Bootloader area (something like this) and it is look like can be fix but I need credit, so my question is ->
It is possible to fix my phone via Omnius for SE (if I pay)
1. It is possible to fix TA wrong edit using S1 Bootloader Fix in Omnius (something like this)
2. If I remove simlock and unlock bootloader Can I reflash TA and get my phone work back ?
3. My phone is only recognize via test point (not flash mode)
4. If I buy credit my phone can be fix using Omnius ? and what steps I need to do to fix this ???
My phone info:

I can't quite picture the situation, but I wouldn't recommend buying "credit" or anything like that.
