Note: You WILL need a PC connected to the internet, and the USB cable that came with your device. Before you being, please download Archos 80/101 G9 OS v 4.0.4 (190733Kb, for 80/101 G9 devices only) to your PC, copy to your desktop or wherever you will remember, then do the following:
Step 1: Power off your device
Step 2: Hold the volume rocker down and press the power button simultaneously
Step 3: Once in recovery, select "Format System", then "Reformat Device..." (use the volume up/down to change selection, power button to select)
you already did this
Step 4: Once formatted, return to recovery using the same method above, this time select "Update Firmware"
Step 5: Plug your device into your computer using the USB cable that came with your device
Step 6: A new drive should appear in "My Computer", copy firmware_archos_it4.aos to this device
Step 7: Ensure the transfer is completed, then press the power button on your device, keep it plugged in while it is updating
Step 8: Your device should boot, and be updated to the latest firmware 4.0.4

Accidentally tried flashing GSM rom onto CDMA D:

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section, didnt quite feel like it belonged in the development forum.
Now to the problem. I downloaded a root thing for gsm. Read the instructions and went oops thats for gsm. I cant post links because I am a new member but if you search for thread "ICS 4.0.4 upgrade guide - "not so permanent now"" on here you will find the page/instructions/link. Went on searching. However having way too many windows open on my little laptop screen with a touch pad thats too sensitive i accidentally somehow clicked on something in that folder because I am an idiot and left the window open. Lesson learned...close/delete **** that doesnt apply to my phone. I think i clicked either Rootexplorer.apk or whatever was on top or below (fastboot or step 1 - flash 403) it since that is where my mouse was approx when something popped up and my phone did something (lesson 2, dont leave phone plugged in to computer)
I have been searching furiously and have all but given up and am ready to go out and buy a new phone tomorrow...ouch...
I am hoping that somebody here might know of something. My phone was freshly updated to 4.04 before it happened. Please try to keep the flaming to a minimum but understandably i deserve some of it but im feeling pretty miserable as it is already. Thanks in advance for any help you guys may provide.
I'm no expert, but I would think of you can still get into fastboot you can saved your phone. I'm droidrzr.com there's plenty of people that use fastboot to go from one ics leak to another. Maybe you can do something like that. I don't know razrs all that well. Sorry if this was a useless post.....
Sent from my DROID RAZR
Google "matts razr utility 1.7"
Download and run.
Make sure your phone is connected to your PC and in ap fastboot mode,
Select option 1
Follow directions from there.
also, make sure you have .211.xt912.en.us on the root of your EXTERNAL SD card before you start the utility.
This should at least get you on the stock cdma ics.
EDIT:
Download
Verizon, 6.16.211.en.US
Unzip the file, copy the 2 files to Root of your EXTERNAL SDCARD
Follow this: droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr/213197-offical-ota-zip-installation-guide-droid-razr-razr-maxx.html
Copied from there:
1. Download the official OTA "Blur_Version.6.12.181.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip " file from above.
2. Place the file downloaded in step one into the ROOT of your EXTERNAL SD card. (DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE)
3. Turn off phone.
4. Go into recovery by pressing and holding the Volume Up (+), Volume Down (-), and Power button all three at the same time. (Press and hold all physical buttons.)
5. The menu will come up and select "Recovery".(Volume Down key to go down and Volume Up key to SELECT/ENTER Recovery.)
*The Android and Exclamation mark logos will come up*
6. Press both Volume Up (+) and the Volume Down (-) buttons at the same time. Release.
7. With the Volume Down (-) button go down to "Wipe CACHE partition" and press the Power button to select it. DO THIS TWICE (Don't worry your data will not get erased by wiping the cache.) (Thanks smmfc)
8. With the Volume Down (-) button go down to "Apply Update from SDCard" and press the Power button to select it.
9. Volume Down (-) go to the “Blur_Version.6.12.173.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zi p” and select it with the Power button. (This is the one we put in the External SD in Step 2.)
10. It will take a while to upgrade, mine isn't even done yet and I started it when I started to write Step 1
11. Once it is done, go to "Reboot system now."
12. Official ICS, Enjoy!!! =D
Once it's your first time starting ICS, it WILL take a while to load up, it is normal, it will also be "Optimizing applications" at first start up.
-----------------------------------------
Just extract the blur version zip and place it on the root of external SD, then run utility
All of this can be done from your PC if you have a card reader.
Don't thank me, thank matt for his awesome utility if it works.

Samsung Fascinate Root and ICS

Hey, Ive been wanting to get ICS on my Verizon Samsung Fascinate, I'm just really confused and what i need to do to get it on my phone after rooting. I want to use CM7 but i dont know which to use (Nightly/Stable).
All from bhfd64 on the Galaxy Forums
[HOW TO] Root Froyo or Gingerbread on Your Fascinate
Below you'll find the steps to attain root access on your Samsung Fascinate, but keep in mind that along with risking damage to your phone, you'll be voiding your warranty. This guide assumes you've taken the most recent OTA update and are running official Gingerbread. The responsibility for any damage incurred by following this guide is yours and yours alone.
NOTE 1: These instructions are for PC only. They will not work for Mac users.
NOTE 2: These instructions should work for any stock Gingerbread build on the Fascinate.
Downloads:
Download Samsung drivers from HERE.
Download Odin (computer program) from HERE.
Download ClockworkMod Recovery from HERE (place this file somewhere on your computer where you can easily locate it).
Download "su-2.3.6.1.x.zip" file from HERE (place this file on the root of your sdcard...not within any folders).
Instructions:
1. Install Samsung drivers on your computer.
2. Open Odin on your computer. (You may need to disable antivirus programs on your computer and/or phone for this to work properly.)
3. Power off your phone and remove the battery.
4. Plug the stock USB cord that came with your phone into a powered USB port on your computer (usually on the back of the computer).
5. Press and hold the "volume down" button on your phone, and continue to hold it while plugging the USB cord into your phone. This will put your phone into download mode. You'll see a large yellow triangle on the screen of your phone. (Let go of the volume button at this point.) You will also see one of the small boxes in Odin turn yellow, as well as "Added" appearing in the message box.
6. Click the PDA button in Odin (NOT the PHONE button) and navigate to the "CWM3_Voodoo.tar.md5" file you downloaded earlier. This file does not include a voodoo kernel and will not perform the voodoo lagfix conversion. It's only named as such to note that it is compatible with voodoo kernels.
7. Click START. When this process has finished, you'll be notified in Odin (succeeded 1 / failed 0) and your phone's screen will go blank.
8. Unplug your phone and re-insert the battery.
9. Press and hold BOTH volume buttons. While holding them, press the power button. Hold all three simultaneously until you see "SAMSUNG" appear. This will boot your phone into ClockworkMod Recovery. If your phone boots up normally here and not into recovery, just wait for it to boot up and then power it down and try again. It may take a couple tries for you to get it right.
10. Using the volume rocker, navigate down to "Install zip from sdcard." Highlight it and press the power button to select.
11. Navigate to "choose zip from sdcard" and select with the power button.
12. Navigate to the "su-2.3.6.1.x.zip" file that you downloaded earlier and select it. Scroll to "Yes," and use power button to select.
13. When you're advised of completion, press the MENU softkey to go back to the previous CWM Recovery screen, then highlight and select "reboot system now."
At this point your phone will reboot and you'll be rooted. Open up your app drawer. You should see an app called "Superuser." If it's there, you're done! Now you can think about possibly moving on to a custom ROM and/or kernel. Instructions for flashing a custom ROM can be found here.
Thanks for any help and sorry for the Questions i read around and couldn't find anything i understood.

Any help on that? i have tried multiple things that ive read like restarting computer different cables and cleaning the usb ports. Im using odin 1.83 on vista 64 bit. I know u may not have files for this or even know what it is, but have you tested to see if adb or fastboot work at all? Might be unrelated but I think that it shows if samsung drivers are working correctly

Zeki 7" Firmware?

Has anybody found a link to any custom or stock firmware for this tablet?
I have a small annoying issue that I am sure could be fixed with a flash, the back button randomly stops working until I reboot.
The baby Einstein on their 800 number thought a factory reset would fix it, then that using the software button was a good enough solution and had no clue about tablets in general. Through Support e-mail they were heading towards wanting me to ship the tablet back rather than supply a link to firmware. I explained to them it doesn't appear to be hardware related as it is random, and reboot fixes it.
im looking for the same firmware man, i have mine bricked :S

I was finally able to get access to it through ADB and reset the permissions on the file. all is good now. I do still have problems with the screen "double tapping" though and have not figured out how to fix it. Does yours do the same thing.
The only problem I seem to have is that top left hand corner. Sometimes you have to tap that location a couple of times if that's what you mean

I did some reading on your behalf, let's try to sort this out. Good news is you can't really brick A10 allwinner devices.
Ideally you would need the original firmware from the manufacturer (.img file) and flash it through livesuit. However, this firmware is no where to be found on their website, I would try to email the device maker to send you the firmware. The email is: [email protected]
1 . Acqure the firmware file from manufacturer
2. Download livesuit (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lawkcbqhbictar4).
Follow these Instructions to flash .img file through livesuite (I found them elsewhere):
3. Open LiveSuit.exe
Double-click to open the upgrade tool LiveSuit.exe
4.Select the firmware
Click the cube to the far left to select the firmware .img file.
5. Turn off your tablet
6. Press the key combination to start it in the upgrade mode
a. Press the "Vol -" key, then press the "Power" button, hold two buttons at the same time
b. Connect the USB cable to tablet and computer
c. After connecting the USB cable, press the power button 6 times quickly or hold the "Vol -" keys and the "Power" button for more than 6 seconds (you should get a pop up window if done correctly , if not repeat step 5 from beginning)
d. DON'T release the "Vol -" button till the LiveSuit window pops up
e. You can now release the "Vol -" button
(Note: If you install the driver at this time the pop-up dialog box, the path to point to installation directory UsbDriver LiveSuit folder, click Next to complete the driver installation prompts).
You should see LiveSuit window pops up; otherwise, you didn't do it correctly, you have to repeat step 4 and 5.
7. Select the format to force upgrade
Livesuit prompt "force format", click "Yes" (Y). All of the original apps installed will be removed. We highly recommend mandatory format! ! ! Otherwise the update is not complete and may brick! ! !
8. Upgrade begins
Pop-up "OK to force format" dialog box, select "Yes", the upgrade begins.
9. The upgrade is complete
Firmware download process last about three and a half minutes or so, please wait until the prompt "upgrade successful."
10. Automatic restart
After the upgrade is complete, your tablet will automatically restart, then you can unplug the USB cable.
Slow start-up for the first time, please be patient.
If the machine does not restart automatically, press and hold the Power button for 8-10 seconds or more to ensure the power switch off, then press the Power button 3 seconds or more to turn on your tablet.
11. Congratulations! You have flashed the firmware.
If you are not able to acquire the original firmware from manufacturer, you can try to flash this one:
http://www.yarvik.com/userfiles/yarvikfirmware/TAB461EUK_A404.img (funbook pro m500, similar specs and running same processor)
thank u very very much
i do that all but this frimware is not compatible (it show me all thing black)
i still need frimware
i send email for [email protected] but no reply yet

Asus prime TF201 - unable to connect from usb through fastloader

I believe that i've unlocked my asus tf201 prime by following the document : Asus Transformer Prime TF201 ROM update
i did following
* unlock bootloader
* root
But when i want to upgrade the bootloader by using fastloader i select the usb icon and then the documentation says that
i should be able to write "fastloader devices" and get a serial number but this is not happening
actually nothing more is happening when i've selected the usb icon
It seems that im able to boot my device as usual but i still want to upgrade my device.
How should i proceed ??
After powering down the tablet and pressing vol down and power and then selecting the usb icon, how long time do i need to wait to see some response ??

No the link you supply is not the instructions i followed. But im unable to find the link to the instructions i tried to follow. I did download a text document called "Asus Transformer Prime TF201 ROM update"
But perhaps its an old one.
As soon as i get some spare time i will try to follow the instructions supplied by the above link
Thanks

After powering down the tablet and pressing vol down and power and then selecting the usb icon, how long time do i need to wait to see some response ??
Click to collapse
1) Press and hold VOL-DOWN + POWER simultaneously (TF should boot into 'Starting Fastboot USB download protocol') and give you the options in the center of the screen.
2) Using the VOL-DOWN cycle to the USB plug option (it should be blinking to show that it has been selected)
3) Once USB is selected press the DOWN-VOL to execute USB option.

I am getting the same problem right now. The hang up is step 4:
4 - PREVENT BRICK : NVFlash
This step is optionnal but highly recommended, your tab will never be bricked after it !!!
1ST PART --------------------
Tab shut down, press Power + Volume- for 3 seconds and release, you are in the bootloader.
Use Volume- to move cursor over the USB logo, confirm with Volume+, you are in the fastboot mode.
Select USB and the tablet just sits there, seems to be indefinetely. Each time, eventually I've held down the power button, turning it off, then it powers up ok. What are we missing?
Step 1 = download
Step 2 is done on PC
Step 3 is on tablet = unlocked successfully
Step 4 = "Prevent Brick" = FAILURE!
Thanks for any help :>
Phil
I usually press and hold VOL-DOWN + POWER simultaneously until it put me into the recovery console [RC], takes about 8 to 10 seconds for the RC menu to pop-up
