I already have a bag that I use to transport my transformer and dock together. I am looking for something like a sleeve that will permanently stay on both the transformer and dock for protection, while they are docked together. If this does not exist, is there a sleeve that goes on the transformer itself that can stay on even when the dock is connected? Basically I never disconnect the dock from the transformer but want to be able to have protection on the transformer while it is being used and is docked.

Try that.
Or try this. I love the skins from bestskinsever as it really keeps the fingerprints down to a minimum. It is a clear, tough and beautiful skin that I use on all my electronics and still fits into the dock with a minimum of fuss. The price is right too at $19 for a full body skin or $14 for just the front.

Hi
I'm also looking into this as well, not so much a skin, but a sleeve or case.
So far I've found a few items, these two are the ones that catch my eye the most:
Sikai
Triple case
Any thoughts on one of these?
I have bought this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1245903.html
if it's good to you to double width of the tablet it is good.
I always use this case only for the tablet alone, because I fear that added thickness would damage dock's screen motion mechanism.
Cheers, ended up buying this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190642270942&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
Will report back when I get it.
wow there are some awesome skins at decalgirl.
I didn't even know about skins when I bought a 'leather' case thing; still don't really. This could be a dumb question but what do they actually cover? Back of screen? Front of screen? Bottom of dock as well?
My TF hasn't actually arrived yet but I anticipate that I'll be taking only the pad into uni some days and pad+dock other days.
Pad+dock days are sorted already but when I'm just taking the pad do you think a skin will be enough protection? It will travel in my backpack so I'm really looking for as small as possible with screen-scratch protection and a little bit of cushioning perhaps. I know its always going to be a tradeoff but what's your experience been?
mmm, I do like the look of those skins.....
thanks!

Description says you have to take the dock off to close the case.
Sounds like a dealbreaker to me

Its not bad, its ok.
It stays on my tablet. However when I attach the keyboard to the tablet, doesn't work so well. I need to flip the case over and then it will fit with the keyboard on (but then the keyboard remains unprotected). Not ideal, but I get by. I then put the whole in one of those netbook style protected sleeves.

So I am a student, and I'm always walking around with a backpack full of books. I want to carry my transformer and its dock with me so I can do some on the fly word processing between classes when I get a chance, but I'm worried about the weight of my books being pressed against the dock, being pressed against the tablet in the case.
So, does anyone know of a good, hard, case that will fit the dock and the tab? I looked through the sticky and didn't seem to find anything that wasn't discontinued (unless I missed it??).
Thanks a lot!

I have the same conditions in my bag due to my classes.. I don't use a hard case but these:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...oocase+super+bubble+neoprene+sleeve+case+10.1
work super good and are only like 15 bucks.. the bubbles on the inside are super cushiony.. I don't even worry when its in there.
That's dope! If I may ask, how do you situate your tab in your backpack? Front, back,? And do you face your screen to your keyboard dock or away?

I carry mine in my backpack with no issues. I wanted one that would encase the tablet AND the dock. In my opinion, this one is the most practical if you are almost always using the dock anyway.
Well, since I can't put a link in a reply yet; go to amazon and look up: "Poetic(TM) 2in1 Ultra Light Leather Case for ASUS Eee Pad Transformer"
Hope this helps!

I use this for with the dock. There's also a more expensive blue one, I wish they had a green.. but I got the red because it's cheap and worth the cost!
I am using the malina case made for Mac Air 11. Fit perfectly.

I ran across this one at Walmart. Fits perfectly while docked or not, and is very well cushioned. It has a good amount of room, allowing me to carry my adapter, phone charger, Jambox, and ZaggSparq. For $25, it's a pretty good deal.
yes its very nice
Hey guys, thinking of pre-ordering this, what do you all think? I've been interested in a case that covers both my Prime and my soon to have docking station. From what I see, I think it fits my needs. Feel free to share your thoughts.

The one I posted the link to that I purchased does have the holes where the Prime would connect to the dock.

Yes it does have holes for the dock. No removal of the entire cover needed. The mini-suit is the perfect fit that also support the dock IMO.

Thanks! Its alot cheaper so I'll give a shot! I just want a case that protects both the tablet and the keyboard dock.
what about the position of the tablet when in "writing mode"?
The image shows a very steep angle between the keyboard and the screen when using the keyboard.
Will the hinge between dock and tablet hold the screen and the angle you desire?
What if the keyboard is not used the angle cannot be fixed as it is with some other cases. (though they do not have the option for the keyboard)
Not sure if the Poetic case is a rip off of this one or the other way around but I got the Poetic case that looks eaxctly like this one and I love it. I actually dropped my Prime this morning running to the buss stop and was worried to open the case to witness the scratches and/or damage and the case did an excellent job! No damage! I'd highly recommend although I advise against dropping!
I have the MiniSuit case. When it first arrived I was a bit disappointed.
One of the let downs was the fact that the case around the tablet did not have any magnets so the fold kinda flapped around and did not stay shut if the tablet was undocked.
I solved that by putting a couple of adhesive Velcro strips on the top and bottom.
After that!.... It never leaves this case.
http://i.imgur.com/g6Tad.jpg
I have it. I would have like it if the tablet portion of the case would work as a stand when detached from the base. Even with that being said it is a nice case for the money.

Hi, have any of you actually used this case with the dock attached? I have this case and whilst is does have holes where the dock connector would go, I can't connect the dock at all - there is just too much leather around the holes/case etc.
(It's a great case for the tablet alone, I just can't make it work with the dock)
I'm looking for a slim case that works both with and without the dock attached. Perhaps the best solution is the other Mini Suit "Rotating" case mentioned in the first post?
Any experience / views would be welcome.

Brilliant idea! I was about to buy that same case, then i wondered will there be anything to hold the front case.
Btw, did the case smells? I mean, that strong leather smell?
I bought this case but it smells even after a month. I did everything, even wrap in newspapers and placed under the sun.

I have this Case and I keep it Docked all the Time. The First time I placed in the Dock it was a Tad tight but now it pops in and out easily. The only Bad part is I bought this Case in Feb. and paid $39. for it......
Hey guys I have been searching for a long time now for a folio style case that will fit the transformer WHILE docked. Searching here found me nothing.
I have only EVER found two (on amazon) that fit exactly what i am looking for but they have had mixed reviews.
I was just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like or has any experience with the following cases:
This one has a removable section for the keyboard dock which clips on to the main tablet case (which has its own cover for when not using it with the dock)

This one is a single piece built for use with the dock all the time.

Yes and no. without the keyboard in, there is nothing to keep it from sliding out the bottom, but you can hold it. I'll upload a pix when I get home from work showing it if you want. Kind of hard to explain.

Thats why i was leaning more towards the one with the removable part for the keyboard (the first one i linked to).
That way you can use it with and without the keyboard and still be fully covered.
personally i find all these cases aesthetically horrible, i really dont want huge triangular bits of leather on the keyboard corners and the leather around the screen it just makes what is a beautiful tablet look like something out of miami vice!
but maybe thats just me.
LOL i do agree with it taking away from the beauty of the tablet, but im not a fan of sleeves and need something that i can keep on it at all times or whenever i need it. There are so many nicer ones (i.e the official transformer folio, looks smiliar to the ones made for ipads), but they are made for the tablet alone and must be removed to dock it, which sucks.

like i said you cant close the case completely with the dock attached, but when i am out and about i just detach the dock from the tablet and put the whole caboodle in this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Protective-...EC/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1327364719&sr=8-32
Yeah i remember seeing that blurex one and loved it because it doesnt have a bezel it has less noticeable clips which shows off the transformer much better. How is the hold though? how exactly does it work?
But yeah im not a fan of sleeves. so that would be out of the question for me (although it seems like thats the only option sometimes)

Yeah, BULL3TPR00F, I'm in the same boat in terms of what I want.
I'm not sure if its possible though, you'd think at least Asus would have put something together that did the job otherwise (let alone all the custom makers).
I think that blurex looks like it might be the best of average solutions to the problem. One thing I am concerned with is are the clips gonna eventually loosen/break if I'm constantly switching the tab between the dock and case?
bob dylan, do you have an opinion on that?

i very much doubt the clips would break, i dont know what they are made out of but they are sturdy as hell, i cant bend them at all when i press on them or try and twist them( maybe some kind of metal skeleton underneath? dunno). this case is very well made indeed, the clips do not leave any mark on the tablet at all.
---------- Post added at 04:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 PM ----------
just to clarify, with the blurex case i dont ever take the case off when using the keyboard dock. the case is fine with the dock as the back of the case just folds up behind the tab when the dock is connected and the keyboard is being used flat on a surface.
the only draw back to this case is that it doesnt close fully when the keboard is attached, you can close the tablet and the dock the usual way you just cant close the case fully. so for me i dont have a scenario where i need to take the case off.
when i want the tablet on its own i just take off the dock
when i want the dock attached i attach it and fold the back of the case up behind the tablet
when i want both and i am out and about i take the dock off and put the cased tablet and dock in a neoprene sleeve.
I ordered the same Minisuit case you linked originally, with the removable dock part.
In theory I think this fits my use case best. I have a toddler, and also toss it in my computer bag, so I wanted it protected/always covered, if it is docked or not.
I do really like the case. Its seems OK quality for $30. Having the ability to undock it and carry around just the tablet is great. I found that I was carrying around both the dock and the tablet often because I was worried about something scratching the screen. So Now, I carry just the tablet around with me much of the time, with the folio case protecting the screen.
Typing with the dock/tablet sitting in my lap is much better with the case on. It makes the base less rounded, so it is less enclined to tilt forward in my lap. Plus the corners of the case raise my wrists up off the keyboard slightly, which makes it feel more comfortable.
The case seems to be a little fiddly though.
The hole for the camera on the back sometimes gets in the way of shots.
It sometimes the tablet doesn't want to connect to the dock without undoing the elastic bands that keep the cover secured to the dock. I've just started leaving those un-done, since even if it connects, it seems to limit the tilt angle. And the elastic strap sometimes covers the charging light on the dock. And that works mostly ok. The snaps on the back sometimes are hard to work as well.
Thanks for the detailed description, you mind uploading some pics from various angles and what you were mentioning about the straps and whatnot.
Thanks!

Before I bought it, I stumbled on this review. Check out the 5th image here (also a decent review, lots of pictures)
http://www.transformerforums.com/forum/asus-transformer-accessories/6182-minisuit-folio-case-review-tuff-luv-clone.html
You can see the elastic strap that keeps the underside of the case attached to the dock. Scroll a bit further down, and you can see the picture of the two attached together. The reviewer didn't seem to have any problems with the straps. I can make it work ok with them on, but it just seems to make docking a bit harder...and it definitely seems that they get pinched when reclining the screen back fully.
But they're not really needed. If you have the two pieces snapped together, the snaps hold the base piece in place. Really what the straps do is to keep the case from falling off the dock when the transformer isn't docked. And you could put the straps back on in that case...
Cool thanks
I own a real Tuff-Luv case and really like it. Worth what I paid even if that's about double what that clone costs. It does add some bulk.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk
Yeah i decided to splurge and grab the real Tuff-Luv case off amazon (Veggie leather, never seen the genuine leather anywhere aside from the official site). It is quite expensive but i do believe the build quality will be better than the knockoffs (also the MiniSuit knockoff does not have a cutout for the left speaker, and ive heard of minor issues with alignment of the holes (for cameras, etc).
when it arrives in a couple weeks, i will post pictures.

I tried to be really careful with my Prime so I initially decided to just use a sleeve case and otherwise have it 'naked'. However, after about 10 days I started to notice a few minor scratches on the back plate as well as on the supposedly unscratchable Gorilla Glass. Majorly pissed, especially since I has been trying to be so careful. I now have the Prime and dock shrink wrapped in Skinomi. Fortunately the Skinomi screen protector hides the few little marks on the screen well.
For all my devices, I put an Invisible shield cover from zagg on them. Can usually get a good deal using a coupon from retailmenot (I believe I got $10 off mine for the prime).

Hey guys,
If anybody is looking for cases, I'm using this one.
http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Folding-...1SCQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1337432342&sr=8-2
I like it a lot. It's very sturdy, strong build and the price is not bad at all. i would recommend it. Reviews are pretty good on it as well.. I'm not a big fan of folding cases but this one changed my mind. It's not those flimsy cheap ones they sell on ebay for $5. I had one of those for my tab 7.0 plus and it was garbage.
Ordered this same case over the weekend and am awaiting delivery. I do have the keyboard dock but see this as an excellent alternative for some situations. It's called a Transformer for a reason after all.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I concur, its a good case and since I couldn't find it in the Netherlands, I also ordered it through Amazon.
+ Very affordable
+ Sturdy
+ Proper screen protection
+ Fast delivery
+ Simple, yet stylish finish (leather-look, black)
But....
- I had to "adjust" the hole for the headphone. Originally it was placed 7 mm too low (when holding the tablet upright). But with a sharp knife, that is easily done.
- The cover is (when folded) hold in place by a small flap. I find that the friction is too low to properly keep the cover in place. So I improved it with some velcro. Now the cover stays were it is no matter how mucht I move the case around. Just make sure you place the soft side of the velcro on the cover (doesn't scratch the screen)
- It adds about half of the tablet in weight, which is no problem when its standing/laying on a surface of course. But just to let you know
-The 40 pin connector is at all times unprotected
- I am also thinkin of clearing some of the material around the on/off switch. I find it a bit too hard to reach (I am a lazy SoB, mind you )
- I will add a small loop for a stylus (not present)
I admit I am still waiting for the smart cover version like the one for the TF201. But until that moment, this one is it.
Cheers
I purchased this case and received it today. I really like it and it was a great deal. It's probably tthe best one for the money right now. Very well-made and fits perfectly. I especially like now the screen cover adjusts depending on the way you want to use the wedge stand and the magnets in said cover to keep it closed.
All-in-all, I highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for a case and is not going to be using the keyboard dock.

I am also in the Netherlands and am trying to order it from Amazon, yet the buyer says they do not ship to the Netherlands?
I am using this link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007P657RI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A2W9JVEMMG88KL
I was wondering if you could post the link you used?
Thanks.

Thanks for the link!
How do you like it?
***EDIT
I went ahead and purchased it anyway! Will be here on Monday!
I think it's great !!
i have it sitting on my desk at home, now i'm just waiting on the TF300 couple of questions:
1. assume the case closed leaves the inside of the case touching the screen. any damage possible here? it looks like pretty soft suede or microfiber, but still wondering.
2. what's the deal with carving out the headphone jack? has anyone else had to do this?
3. do you have pictures of the velcro thing? anyone else had problems closing it?

Is the extra cost of the Caseen skinny cases worth it over the moko?

If you are talking about the Moko one?
1. No, No damage possible. I had it for a month or so and havent seen damage on screen. I wonder this to, but it doesnt touch the screen. Atleat for me it doesn't.
2. I didn't have to. I used the headphones with no problem. No carving..
3. I can send a picture of the velcro but it's pretty strong. The tablet doesn't move down or tries to walk away from the case.
Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow (Friday). Can't believe the overwhelming positive feedback from so many other users who have this case.
I've ordered mine by UK

It's a delivery estimate, but generally the dispatches from UK are very quick.
I have the moko case for the tablet and its great. The reason the screen doesn't get scratched is because of 2 magnets that are sitting on each corner on the far end of the case and when the case is closed there is still about a centimeter or 2 of clearance. Great case imo

Hi,
is it easy to take out? I use the dock very often and I'm just looking for a case for surfing the internet or watching films, so I don't have to hold the tablet all the time. But cases like the slim one make it very hard / annoying to take the tablet out.
Does the magnets affect the tablet?
One of the reviews on Amazon for this case said that the magnets have some affect on the GPS. I am generally reluctant to bring electronics close to magnets. Does anyone see any issues with the magnets and GPS?

No it's not. I take it out all the time. I personally don't like cases, but I had one because of my daughter.

I saw that. I'll give it a try today. I don't use my tablet for gps so that doesnt bothered me.
