[Q] Looking for specific music player feature - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am not sure how exactly to search for or find this specific feature when searching the android market for an audio player.
What I am looking for is an audio player that keeps track of the current position of the audio file being played, in a specific album, so that I can continue playing from there the next time I open that album. It should allow me to switch between albums, and keep and restore to the last track played for each album (or playlist). It should obviously also remember this for when I close and reopen the player.
Is anyone aware of such a audio player?
Thanks for the help
Michael

Music player playing mp3 ringstone.

so annoying that music player put mp3 ringstone on playerlist and playing them with other mp3 songs. even though, I put mp3 ringstone in ringstone folder.
is there away to fix that?
Which Music player are you using ?
All mobile media player do the same thing. You shuold create a playlist for all your MP3songs (without your MP3 Ringtones) and save that play list. next time just simply play that play list. for WM Mobile when you cold start the app ( the app is not already running in the background of your system "check your task manager") there aren't songs on the playlist. From here your can create your playlist at this time, then play them.
Hope that cuold help you.
There's no real solution to this.
Some will suggest changing the properties of any music file you don't want to appear in the sense music player list to 'hidden', but that also means it wont be seen by other apps (I hid my ringtones and they no longer appeared in the list of chooseable ringtones when setting a ringtone).
The best solution I came up with was re-tagging my mp3 ringtones as artist 'ringtone' and album 'ringtone', so at least they were confined to one artist/album.
thanks for reply.
start doing playlist now.
how to hide your ringtones?

[Q] Music Player for .wpl-Playlists and with remember position

Hello together,
I use Windows Media Player and automatic generated Playlists and sync them with Windwos Media Player to my Android (SGS2). I could not find any music player that plays (shows) the wpl playlists, only the stock music player. But the Stock music player doesnt remember the last playlist / track / position in the track where I stopped and I love this feature.
I want to use this in my car. Connect to car-radio by bluetooth, autostart Musikc player (with Locale) and now I need a player with the requirements I explained above (and automaticly start playing music on app start if possible).
Anyone got an idea?
I am sorry, I just saw the wpl-files are converted into .pla files on the phone. So I need a player that detects and plays pla

[Q] S-Voice and Music Control

Hey guys, I posted this in another forum, but never had any responses. I've also searched this site quickly and didn't see anything regarding this.
How well does S-Voice control music? I always play my music through bluetooth in my truck and I think it would be great to be able to change songs through voice commands. I've seen videos showing that S-Voice can start playing music, but none showing that it could actually play a specific song on request, (i.e. play *insert song here*). If S-Voice is not currently capable of doing this, would rooting the phone accomplish this with certain mods? I have never rooted a phone and I am looking forward to taking the dive with the GSIII.
And finally, when using S-Voice to play songs, will it only play through the stock music player, or could you play songs through Google Music?
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help!
Hi there I assume if you make a third party music the default it would play from there but maybe not as then it wouldn't have the integration, I could test it if you like. And as far as music control goes its very good you can do loads of commands such as:
play
pause
stop
skip
then more advance commands like
play > alex claire too close
play > playlist bike songs
That is awesome... I do hope there is a way to make Google Music the default player as I much prefer streaming my music as opposed to taking up storage space on the phone.
Well I downloaded PlayerPro as I can't get Google music in the U.K (not legal anyway
) and I made it the default music player. Unfortunately even after doing this S-Voice will still open the song in the default Samsung music player.

[Q] Stupid question: Podcasts??

I apologize for the simple question, but the guides do NOT cover it. I can copy music to my "Music" folder and the music appears in the stock Music app (as well as DoubleTwist), for example. But if I copy a podcast file to "Podcasts" directory it does not appear in the default player.
How do i get this to work? The default player has no mechanism for downloading and it seems like the Podcasts directory would be the most logical place! DoubleTwist is great for playback and downloading, but in a perfect world I could use the podcasts in any player just like i can with music. Since the built-in Music app supports avrcp 1.3, I can see playback info on my BT head unit, so I'd love to have that.
Anybody figured this out? it feels like such a stupid question.
one last note: i am NOT stock, I am running Revolution HD 8.0, though this SHOULDN'T matter? Maybe something IS broken there, but in my searches elsewhere I don't see anybody else asking this question.
refresh the media library after you copy music to your device
OK, I finally got the podcasts to show up by creating a sub-directory "Podcasts" in the "Music" directory. I was hoping to get clever and create a symbolic link between the music player source and DoubleTwist (or another podcast app) so the default player would pick it up, but that doesn't seem to be an option on this phone
Thanks!

Help re music player apps

Looking for a little help on music player apps. Specifically, a tablet running 4.3 (should be updated to 4.4 in a month or two according to the manufacturer), all music will be on SD card.
Currently, all my music is album oriented and sorted by Genres, then Artists, then Albums. This works on my iPod in my car (both iTunes and car software work flawlessly) and on my MP3 player (both MS My Music and player software work flawlessly). I start with Genres, find my Genre and click, brings up Artists within this Genre in alphabetical order, click on my Artist and brings up the Albums, click on Album and the songs, in album order, come up. Click on the first song and the album plays all the way through.
I haven't found an Android music app which will do this. Many sort by Genre, then go into directly into Songs, in alphabetical order. Many sort by Artists, but with over 20gb of music and hundreds of Artists, this takes forever to get to ZZ Top.
Anyone know of a music app which can go from Genre to Artist to Album? If this approach works with iTunes/iPods and MS Music, I found it hard to think I haven't found an Android app which can do this. Tried about 20 players in Play Store and haven't found one that does this. All help is appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. No playtlists; no single songs; simply albums by artist catagorized into genres.
Have you try some of them?
Apollo - Music player:

beat (2.0.2) - a music player with floating controls

Google Play Music:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.music&hl=no
(I recommend you to try Apollo and see if it right music player for you)
All of these only allow single level searches. I'm looking for something that allows a three level search; first, genre; second, artist; third, album.
It seems ironic I can do this with iTunes and MS Media Player but not with Android. I must be missing something here.

Click to collapse
Mixzing
In case anyone is looking for the same thing, Mixzing works. You can set it for Genres; click on your genre, it shows the Artists. Click on your artist, and it shows the artist's Albums. Click on the album you want, and it shows the Songs, in album order.
Exactly what I was looking for.
