Does anyone have a PH98IMG.zip for stock recovery? I don't want to use an ruu to get any future otas cuz it'll wipe all my info.
Thanks in advance.
Then I took an arrow in the knee...
Search... I have seen one posted before. If not, pick the OTA zip apart, and make one yourself.

It was kinda buried.

So my question is this.
If I want to restore my sprint evo3d to stock rooted, how would I go about it? I know viper has the stock rooted images, which is what I would use, but I've read too much and have confused myself.
Step by step for a newbie please? Running CWM and 1.5 s-off unlocked. I ended up with this combination by somehow screwing up the rooting process and updating to 1.5 with the OTA. I want to cover my bases before I start flashing roms.
Thank you in advance!

If you have a nandroid back up should be able to restore from that back to stock if you made one at the time of obtaining recovery. There is a post in cdma development that walks you through a restore to totally stock back to s-on, if nothing else do that and start from scratch. No link I'm posting VIA xda app

Anyone have the hboot 1.50 only zip so I can start checking for updates regularly cuz I have the 2.17 boot and recovery all I need is to go back to 1.5 and I don't want to download a ruu exe or zip unless its just the bootloader update
Link to it or upload would be great ty
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
why do you want to start looking for updates regularly? and why would you need the 1.5 hboot for that? when there is an update you will know. you'll probably get on here when you wake up and there will be 500 posts about it. and you dont want to take the ota anyway because it will s-on your device and youll have to downgrade it again. dont worry about checking for updates. when theres an ota update someone will upload the firmware bits in a flashable zip without the bootloader (probably freeza) and if there is anything different from the vm base everyone will update the bases to their ROM's if they need to.
All I want is hboot 1.5 only just don't post if u don't got it and waste a post asking y

the questions were rhetorical. posting is infinite, none are wasted. my life?, thats arguable. give me a minute to open another founders dirty bastard and let this **** download and ill get it for you.... for whatever reason you think you need it.
edit: here, try this. 1.5 hboot for cdma shooter.
everything good?
Yep and thx for the zip

Thanks! I asked on that particular thread, but you seem to have alot if knowledge on it, so I'll just ask here as well. Since I already have bootloader unlocked, do I just jump right over to the recovery selection, then to perm root? Also.. when do I need to plug my phone in and do I need to be just normal on or in the screen from volume down and power? Does it give superuser and busy box? Sorry about all the dumb noob questions, just don't want to brick this thing.

At least you're being nice about it, that counts for something, okay here goes:
1. Yes, go straight to recovery because you'll need it to root.
2. Rooting only gives you super user, not busybox, but you can always download busybox from the android market
3. You can be on normal screen or fastboot, it doesn't matter, the tool will detect which one you are on and reboot it into whichever screen it needs. Remember to turn usb debugging on so the tool can find the phone.
4. You can't brick if you're not s-off
You can also have a look see in the amaze bible thread, we give a lot of info about this device in there, I'd be happy to help you once you are willing to work with me as well and once you read instructions veeerry carefully before trying anything.
Gotta be nice when asking dumb questions! Lmao!!! I'm not completely new to this, my G2 was rooted and I was a flashaholic...Lol. For some reason, this just seems much more daunting.

Ignore the kernel option unless you're installing a new rom, no you don't need to backup if you're just rooting the device, but you can make a backup and keep it just in case you need it, it's not that daunting when you get the hang of it like I did, this was my very first HTC device, so unlike you, I didn't have a little previous experience lol.
Coachmoore - its safe to have atleast one backup before flashing a different Rom. Just in case the Rom you want to flash might of downloaded corrupt or if you get stuck in bootloops.
If you're using 4EXT recovery then don't worry about kernel flashing. It will flash it for you. Any other recovery won't.
Just he sure to let it boot 2times before thinking anything is wrong.
Edit...damnit I take too long to reply..lol

Ok,2 more questions and i promise ill shut up. I was gonna use a new rom so is that what it means by flash kernel? And it says this doesnt give s-off... i thought that was rooting. What is the difference? The whole reason for wanting to root is to use differe3nt roms, oc, etc... can u do that with s-on?

Ok, how do I back this one up? I've only done that with Rom manager and it has to have root.

When in recovery, choose the backup/restore option to backup your current rom. S-off is not the same as rooting, read the amaze bible thread to know the difference of the two.
Thanks for all of your help!

4EXT is a touch recovery. There's a thread in the Development section. Read the OP of it. There should be screen shots of how its supposed to look like.

my phone is rooted and i just put the stock rom on it (Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.17.651.5_odex.zip) after having a different rom my question is when ICS update comes in 2 weeks (for sprint users in the usa) will the update work and be applied? or will i just get an error?
I believe you will also have to relock your bootloader and install the stock ruu which puts the stock recovery on.
I recommend that you wait until a dev comes out with a custom based off the ota. It will be more awesome.

That Sucks is there any way I could go back to stock stock so I can update threw HTC when released
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
NEVER EVER take an update when you are rooted. Every single guide to rooting tells you this.
There is no need to relock to take the update when it comes out. Just wait about an hour, and someone on here will have a flashable version of the stock rooted rom. Flash it like any other rom, simple as that, no need to worry about bricking.
Well I don't really care about it not being rooted any more

Just find the stock RUU for your phone.
Depending on whether your CDMA or GSM and what carrier.
It shouldn't be hard. Just use the search.
Then follow the instructions to flash it, make sure you have the stock HTC recovery and relock the bootloader.
Your phone will be stock!

Ah, no problem, you should be fine.
When flashing the stock RUU, if done properly, you should automatically get the stock recovery.

I am ready to throw this Flyer under my truck, and since development here has petered out, I'm desperate. I have a Wifi Flyer with the 1.11 HBoot. I was able to "root" it, but I'm still S-On.
I'm currently on 3.61.1540.31
I have CWM installed, but I lost my stock backup.
What I want to do is get completely bone stock, not rooted and flash a stock RUU.
I don't care about downgrading. I just want my Flyer the way it used to be before I screwed it up.
PLEASE HELP
You can wipe data, cache, etc in the cwm and use the appropriate RUU.
Would a 3.55.1540 RUU work? Because that's the closest one I can find to mine.

Well, great news. I found a more specific downgrade guide on another site and found out I was having trouble extracting the ROM.zip from the RUU. Once I got that, it was all easy. Now rooted, running 2.3.4 and very happy. Not upgrading because I like GB Sense.
