Hi All,
my nook tablet is sometimes becoming unresponsive while playing mp3 files from the sd card.It only works when i restart the tablet.i have tried various music playing apps like android music, power amp,winamp,e.t.c.but i think there might be a problem either with the rooting or the sd card reader.
any suggestions?
thank you
Mine works perfectly fine with my 4gb card and poweramp. I don't bother using the stock media player app.
Have you tried a different SD card? The nook seems to be very picky with cards.
You may want to try reformatting the card in CWM or perhaps with SDFormatter by Trendy, it's a free download.
I'm using a 32GB Sandisk (class4) and also used a Kingston 8GB (class4) and haven't had a single hiccup.
The only other thing I can think to suggest is to see if another app is causing issues, particularly apps like Volume+ or other DSP.

Hey all
I'm using a 64 GB SD card for my Galaxy S3 so I can have all my music on the phone. Everything works fine except that when I make playlists, they are empty after a phone restart! Happens with every player I tried (Player Pro, Songbird, DoubleTwist, stock Samsung player). This is a big problem for me since with 40 GB of music, playlists are necessary. Now do you think this is a Samsung problem, or SD Card (SanDisk sdxc class 10) or Jelly Bean?
I tried using Spotify since that saves playlists online, but it does not sync with the external sd card. But not being able to save playlists on the phone seems weird, anyway, I should not have to work around it by using a service like Spotify. Also tried moving the music player to the SD Card, but does not seem possible on the S3 (also tried via app to sd).
Any help would be appreciated.
Try using Poweramp. I just tested it, made a playlist and restarted and it worked.
:good: Works for me, too! Thanks! Although it is still a shame that it does not work for all the other players!
Hello everyone,
I have a bit of a problem with my Tablet, which is a Utok 1010Q (chinese tablet but branded by some romanian company). I have in it an SDHC card 32 gigs (class 10) and weirdly, it corrupts it when I plug my headphones in the tablet and try to listen either music or play a video on it, it just starts playing for a few seconds then it stops, and not only for videos or music, even when i try moving files from SD card to internal memory the card corrupts(the internal memory works perfect with the headphones plugged in). I tried this with different sd cards but the problem persists. The weird part is, when i unplug the headphones and try to play a video or listen to music, it works just fine!
Im in need of help on this matter, cause i dont know if it's a software problem or a hardware problem. (I play videos using MX player and music with the google app something).
Btw, i have no warranty for it because I won it and they dont give warranty for won items.
Thanks guys.
Things you should know:
Rooted S4 running 4.4.2 (stock kernal)
So first off I torrent a lot so may be the songs, but affected songs from different source all have the same weird noise....
Second I bought a 130 GB SD card off eBay for $20
Third about a month ago before this I started noticing this problem, I corrupted my SD by unmount in it because I was having app installation issues. [Fixed that problem] and I plugged the SD card into my laptop and ran a Windows program through cmd that wiped the drive and fixed it. And I whent ahead and formatted it once I put it back in my S4.
May be a dead giveaway but occasionally Camera pics saved to my SD card, a grey bar starting from the bottom covers up the image and then after a while says corrupt. But only occasionally not on all pictures...
Finally it's rooted and I wanted to be able to edit my music on the SD card, so I ran NextApp SD Fix.
Background:
Once the drive wiped, I lost all my music. So I took to tormenting to get my music back... Though I did not have an SD card reader on my laptop and for some reason have trouble connecting my phone to it I had to transfer my songs on a thumb drive. First batch, I already had the SD card out so I transferred about 3GB worth of music on that directly. Next I transfered directly to the SD through my phone (USB to transfer from computers).
Question:
Songs from both batches where experiencing weird sounds *hard to explain* permanently in the song on my phone, but not original computer. Is this due to my SD card being faulty, an issue transferring, or the fact that I used SDFix?
I'm having an issue with music playback. About once every song there is a short pause. Only happens when the mp3s are coming from the microsd card (Sandisk Ultra 128gb microsdxc class 10). Playback is smooth from internal memory. Transferring songs from microsd to internal memory transfers at 25mb/s so it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue.
I've tried:
Moving sim card to the other spot
Turning off wifi
Restoring back to stock (I'm running debloat script, no swap, rooted, adaway)
The problem still persists. The microsd came from a moto g 2015 and I did not have this issue with that phone.
Anyone have the same issue or know of a fix?
Uninstalling Facebook messenger worked for me.
Are you using Emui/stock music player? Which player do you use? Are you listening through phone speaker/headphones/Bluetooth? I have not experienced this issue with stock Music app on phone spesker so far.

I'm using Poweramp but have the same issue with Google music. I haven't tried the stock player. Issue happens through Bluetooth, headphones (wired), and phone speaker.
Messenger is not installed. Using Google now launcher.
Almost seems like it runs out of memory because it also happens when I open another app while listening to music.
It seems there are 2 folders added to the sd card, Android and LOST.DIR. Maybe the system is writing to these folders while I listen to music?
I tried a different sd card (Samsung Evo 32GB) and have the same issue. At this point I am assuming I have a defective phone.
I have tested it in both Stock and CM 13 ..the audio gets breaking in all the music players i have used...(stock music player, power amp , google music)..it doesn't occur too often, in a span of 1 hour it happens like 2 or 3 times...does any one have this problem ....i am using KIW L-22 with CM 13...
Probably a bad track. I have been listening to audio books at home, and I play music in car through my phone. I've never had this problem.
I had it pretty bad on stock, but it's less so on CM13.
Are you playing it from an SD card, or the internal memory?

Could be, transfer the same song to your internal storage and play it from there. Are you having this problem with headphones? Try changing your headphones. Let us know if you were able to find the culprit.
I am using a Class 2 SD which is bottom of the barrel. I have my audiobooks and songs on it and it doesn't stutter.

Mine is a class2 Sandisk, 128gb. Notionally it should be fine.
I've not noticed it when playing tracks from internal storage, but I haven't got a lot there. I'll have a play and see.

Awesome
By the way. I just got this phone yesterday via the Newegg $160 sale. Love the phone. I noticed the same audio stutter and skips. My files are on the SDCard and it's a 633x (95MB/s) from Lexar (64Gb). I was able to eliminate the problems by turning on audio proxy buffering in n7player. Works great. It's using the local micro server to stream the music to the player (on the phone, no data) and there is no more skipping or stutter for mp3s or flacs.
My collection is 40Gb and of course no way to move that to the phone's internal storage.
I had the same issue. Turns out that I formatted my sd card with my phone (fat32). Reformatted with pc to exfat, and now my music plays without stuttering on every music app. I have +100 gb of music, I guess that doesn't work well with fat32 (only foobar2000 could handle it of all the players I tried).
