Hi! I almost dont use 3G in my phone because of wifi internet on home, gf home, friend home, work etc.. Is there any way to config the Galaxy s2 to autoswitch from wifi to 3G when it doesnt detect any network?? Thanks!
Using CheckRom v6 + N.E.A.K. Kernel with Magic Config.
If you turn on 3G then turn on wifi, phone will work on wifi network, I mean wifi it's working over 3G. If you leave that lace and will not be any wifi network, then you phone will use 3G, coz is still on
Ty Gregory! But if i turn on both at the same time does it use more battery than one at a time? Thanks again

But it is better to turn off your 3G for saving battery juice...just LONG PRESS the POWER BUTTON and CHOOSE DATA Network once you leave the Hotspot..

turn off phone. keep battery out FOR 5 SECONDS. return it.
First, press and hold search. THEN plug cable.
if your phone is simlocked then it won't work.

No, not that i'm aware of. But, what you can do, is downgrade your gingerbread to 2.3.2 and then use gingerbreak and then update OTA back to 2.3.3. Then your phone is at least rooted.
Follow this guide
It works, but i recommend to check the box in your phone that it keeps the backlight on during charging, in the same menu as usb debugging.
And then plug you phone in the charger and leave it in during you run gingerbreak.
I found out that if your backlight goes off, it interferes somehow, i did it 3 times. 2 times with backlight off, after 2 hours still nothing. 1 time with backlight on, after 10 minutes it was rooted
Hope this helps
Has anyone had any flickering issues with their screens on the GSIII?
I have an ATT version GSIII. Auto brightness is turned off and for the most part the screen seems fine. It comes in nice and bright!
So I was writing a SMS and I notice a very quick screen flicker. It then did it again when I fired up Scramble with friends. It happens every now and then. Could this be a software issue? Anyone got any advice about this? Should I do a hard reset from the phone and set it back to factory? Its annoying at times so I am wondering if I was the only one with this issue.
Thanks for any advice or feed back!
I'd take it back and get a replacement. Wouldn't take a chance at the screen going bad.
even I have noticd 2-3 times. ..is this big issue or it ok coz its hardly noticable ...

I am not to sure! I guess I will do a hard reset and set things back up. I will report back in with my findings.
Just sorta annoying! Thats all.

I've only noticed it using "Display Tester" app. Go to "Gamma" test and scroll through, on some colours (grey / green) the sides flicker - is this normal?
I had flickering with the old firmware f2 but since I updated with f6 have no any flicker anymore

You probably have an app installed that is causing this. I have read that the app, better battery stats will help determine this app.
I'm using CM7 from is early stage, and i've had always some problem with my home wifi. the phone is able to connect and get ip address, but after a while (it could be 10 min to 1 or 2 hours) it disconnect and is not able to connect again. The only thing that works is restart phone and router. Is t possible that there are some problems between g5 and my router (linksys WAG54G2)? are there some modifications/settings that i can do both on g5 and on router?
obviously, i'm referring to an old g5, not the phone in my signature
Is it disconnecting when the phone is in sleepmode? If yes you could try to go to Wifi settings, press the menu button, go to advance and check the wifi sleep policity to never hope that helps

You said you are using an early version or are you using the latest version, if its the latest version , the problem is your router, or modem, bceause the wifi of the latest CM7 version works perfect for me and for most of the others
I'm using latest version. I said that I've this problem from earlier versions...
I agree to focus on router, what settings could I change?

Oh I don't know much about Router settings pero Lei puo provare reinstall the latest ROM or try another ROM. If the problem stays you could only try asking your router seller
