Did you try reversing the plug in the AC socket? You can easily reverse polarity (not the greatest) with our plugs and that may be causing you issues.
I use mine plugged in often, without issue, but I always have it plugged in the right way ... which actually appears upside down to me!

Might be a bad power plug. I have only seen this on Android (Samsung Galaxy S) while using an under powered charger.

Thanks for input ill try putting it in a different way

I have generally experienced the problems you are describing when I am using a power plug that is defective or poorly made.
Do you have access to another Transformer power plug that you could test the issue with? For instance if it works fine with another charger then you know the first one is bad.

Help connecting my hdmi

Hi, can anyone tell me is there is something i have to do in order to connect my prime to my tv?.
I used to be able to do it with my xoom but for some reason i can't see anything with my prime.
Thanks in advance.
Nope. Just plug in your micro hdmi into the prime and the other end intothe tv. That all i needed to. It should be the same for you

Hdmi is one feature that does work (just plug and play). If yours does not you may have a dud cable, dud hdmi port on he tv or the prime. My first bet is on user error (make sure you're on correct input, etc) and the second is on a dud cable.
i'm sorry, i just found out the cable is the problem, thanks for the replies guys.

[Q]Auto boot when on ac

I'm still quite new to the prime n learning about it. One thing thats really annoying me is whenever I plug in the prime when its powered down it boots up!
I'm guessing everyone else's does this, is there any way to stop it or to halt the boot procedure and power it off?
Thanks

Touch scr

Hi, my touchscreen is useless when my charger or headphones is plugged in on my S X S. It thinks I'm touching everywhere on the bottom of the screen. When nothing is connected then it's 100% fine. Anyone else having these problems?

Your charger and/or cable are not original - am I right?

I kind of thought that was the issue. My arc was not on a standard lead.
My XperiaS is on standard cable and does not have this problem.

I just had this problem today when connected to an Audio Technica headphone. Maybe there are some short circuit happened that caused this problem?

Defective cable perhaps. Just tried my XperiaS cable in my arc and it appears fine.

New doesn't mean they aren't defective.
It means it has a flaw made in production, not that they are old or worn.
I have this same problem. No matter what I plug in. It can be charger, aux cable, headphones. All the same effect. It long presses stuff at the bottom. Meaning the 3 capacitive buttons, 4 app shortcuts on launcher and usually the space bar. It's truly annoying

well since it seems only a few people are experiencing it, I don't think it's a normal issue with the device...
I switch between Sony/BB/Whatever I have laying around for cables all the time and have never experienced this issue (along with various headphone cables: Sennheiser, Sony). It sounds like a device fault :/.
Have you by chance posted something on the Sony forums about it?

This issue is normal when the charger is plugged in, but I've never heard it in conjunction with headphones.
It is because of very low parasitic currents which occur if you connect your device with the mains (= charge it).
If the transformer is of high quality, those currents are near zero and of course it's also a cable issue. Small manufacturing tolerances can cause high impacts on that.
Seems people are having this problem with multiple Xperia devices and with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.metalev.multitouch.visualizer2
You can clearly notice the problem. Multitouch itself hardly works when plugged in, doesn't even register 2 fingers. But when unplugged it recognizes 7 fingers!
I FOUND THE POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION FOR IT!!
In my case I removed the shatterproof sheet that is preinstalled because I stupidly scratched it. I failed at putting on 2 (two!) screenprotectors. So I decided to call it off and use it without a protector.
When testing with the Multi-touch app, you clearly see a difference in behavior when connected to the charger, headphones or any other device.
First I tried with a small piece of cloth between my screen and finger and saw great improvement. I had some old Nintendo DS screen protectors lying around and tested with those too on my screen. And surprise surprise. All problems were gone.
So my tip to all for this is:
Try a screenprotector on first as it might fix your problem!
DAMN! Why did I remove mine??
Edit: I'm getting the exact same result

I am also experiencing this issue..and this is annoying. VERY VERY ANNOYING!
I play games on my phone like all the time and damn i cnt do it with the charger connected!
Its a deal breaker for me

Strange, have you tried rebooting to see if maybe it's just something caught up in the OS?
Indeed, Stange, does the dock still supply power ?

Had something similar recently but as fast as it appeared it was gone again
Same happened to me, I sent it in for RMA to asus a week or two ago, and still havent got it back :l
happened to me today reboot sorted it
new fterlau
Had same issue, need to reboot a few times, sorted itself out, why? I have no idea
You would be surprised what a cold boot will fix. That and wiping the cache and dalvik. If my tablet starts acting quirky, those are the first steps I'll take to solve the issues.

That's what happened with me, thankfully the people down at ASUS love us.
I have the same issue once in a while, its rare but it happens. Cold boot usually does the trick. Good luck!

My dock freezes my pad occasionally I'm on stock 4.2 not rooted. The problem afaik is either when i close the lid or when both batteries are at about 50% the pad works fine w/o dock but whenever i have the dock attached its either slow as syrup or frozen so I'll have to do a cold boot.
There is no problem when both pad and dock is fully charged but when they start getting depleted the problems as described starts occuring.
any ideas?

Charging dock

Hi,
I gave bought a dock for my phone but it's not the official Samsung one.
My question is how do I get the phone to enter docking mode?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You don't, it's automatic. If the dock isn't wired correctly then it will only charge.
What's the wiring meant to be like for dock mode to be entered
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Same as the html lead, 11 pin non-standard micro usb.

I can't remember what phone/dock (might even be this phone) but I do remember reading that soldering a resistor between certain pins was enough to fool the phone into thinking it was an official dock.. Maybe you can search for that?
EDIT. is this what you are looking for?
